I am Rotherham’s foremost (okay, only) writer of quality erotica and erotic romance. Though I’m now based in London, family and football take me back North on a regular basis. Indeed, if you’re ever at a Rotherham United match (I know, what are the chances?) and you spot a small blonde with a large ‘London Millers’ flag, that’ll be me.

For twenty years, I worked on the UK edition of Forum magazine, for most of those years as editor. In that time, I built up the fiction side of the magazine, and was responsible for publishing the first stories by lots of now well-known and established erotic authors – most notably Portia da Costa and Lindsay Gordon, who was until recently Black Lace’s series editor.

However, I love writing even more than I love editing, and I’ve finally taken the plunge to write full-time. I’ve had stories published by Black Lace, Xcite Books, Cleis Press, Circlet Press, Mammoth, Ravenous Romance, Total-e-bound and more, and my collection of three gay erotic novellas, Wild Rides, will be coming out as a print book from Xcite in 2012. And I’m happy in my work…

Please note that this review is ONLY for the story Thin Ice in this compilation (as I haven't read the others yet!)

So I have to disclose up front that The story Thin Ice in this compilation is written by my BFF but I can honestly say that that didn't influence my thoughts on this book in the least. Brighton Walsh has a talent in that she can write a novella and by the time it's done you think you've read a full length book.

In Thin Ice, we meet Alex, who is a female in a notoriously male position.... a sports reporter. She's waiting on Gavin Williams, the 'it' guy in hockey. She isn't at all what he was expecting when he arrives... and both are pleasantly surprised. Neither hiding their attraction to each other. What starts as a work related interview soon becomes more. As both Alex & Gavin become more and more comfortable and the night goes on the chemistry between them becomes too much.

So... one of the things that I love about Ms. Walsh's writing is her ability to write excellent dirty talkers. I can't lie... I love a good dirty talker and Gavin proves to be a perfect specimen. Things like...

"I'd love to shower you with a thousand licks if you'd walk through my door."

or

"I can't wait to be inside you." ... "but first I'm going to lick every inch of you. Do you like having your pussy licked, Alex?"

or

"Oh Jesus, your mouth is fucking heaven. Yeah, baby, just like that."

So... I'm going to stop there with the teases because I could fill this whole damn review with them.

Novella's are notoriously hard to create characters that have depth and layers but Walsh does that with these two. It's not just PWP - there is a story in there, and you definitely don't want to miss out on it.

Run and get Thin Ice... in fact - you don't have any excuse NOT too... it's free today on Amazon - SO GO!!

i have to say the cover and the title of this bad boy are crazy misleading. i thought this was going to be a collection of shorts about women banging hockey players. NOPE. well the first story was. anywhoodle.
i gave:

Thin Ice by Brighton Walsh 5 stars for a well done, complete short with a realistic build up and hot sexy times... with a hockey player.

Stand 69 by Elizabeth Coldwell 2 stars for kinda of bizarre sex in a bizarre public place with a bizarre build up.

Client Visit by Lynn Lake 2 stars for unrealistic f/f sex that jumped the shark just to get two women humping and language that suggested it was an story written specifically for the male fantasy of lesbian sex. also my least favorite kind of office sex.

Picture of Lily by Zombie Ferguson for publishing under Zombie Ferguson. jk, the story was really hot. included office sex that was more believable and not sexual harassy.

The Closet by Maria Lloyd 5 stars for super hot BDSM action with a Dom who was rich, but not crazy. thank god.

i would definitely read more by Brighton Walsh, Zombie Ferguson and Maria Lloyd.

Note: this review/rating is only for Thin Ice by Brighton Walsh

Loved loved this short little piece. Hot and sexy are the two words that pop into my head when I think about this. Alex is sweet and likable and seems like a very independent woman (just how I like my heroines). Gavin was HAWT. Rawr. Strong and all man.

Overall I thought the story was very well written and realistic, which is how I like my smut! (Except for the 8 orgasms or so Alex had...but dude, who doesn't wish that into reality?! ) This story is also further proof that erotica authors don't need to use cliche phrases and weird names for genitalia, which others know to be what I hate the most of this genre because those things aren't sexy! But Brighton's words were definitely sexy!

My biggest problem with this story was that it wasn't long enough! (I know you see this Bri, give me mooooore!!)

A quick and fun read and I'm definitely excited for more from Brighton!

*This review for Thin Ice by Brighton Walsh only*

It was a pleasure to be able to read this published piece by the wonderfully talented Brighton Walsh.

In this short piece of sexy goodness, we meet Alex and Gavin. Alex is a sports reporter who gets to interview hockey star Gavin. The attraction is instant and mutual and you know where it will end up.

Walsh brings a realistic approach to erotica that is tasteful yet soooo fucking sexy. She can write a delicious dirty talker who doesn't take you out of the moment by trying to use sordid words to prove how dirty they can be. Also, there were no "weeping tight channels" or "stalks of man flesh" and for that I am grateful lol.

I cannot wait to read more from Walsh and hope you would check it out as well.

Review can also be seen here on Books and Swoons .

Hot hockey player + sweet charmer + dirty talker = one hot hero named Gavin. This novella was everything I was looking for in my smutty read.

A fun, fluffly read with a heroine who is strong and sassy and a hero who's hot, masculine and just plain UNFy. My only problem with this story is that it's not a full length novel. I would have loved to learn more about these two and see where their story would take them.

Sigh. I loved this novella.

This is only for Thin Ice by Brighton Walsh.

What a delicious little treat! My only complaint is that it wasn't long enough.

Ms. Walsh has a great way with words and can really tell an excellent story. It was short compared to a novel, but I was hooked right away and wanted more more more! Gimme! In my opinion, that is not easy to do. In a novel, writers have time to set up background and feed our hunger for info, Ms. Walsh was able to do that in a snippet. Impressive. Can't wait to see what else she comes up with!
