This book was actually really fun to read! It was definitely written in the 60s, and it’s an older book, but I found it really enjoyable!

The commentary made the information much easier to digest, and I liked that the book went into some of the battle strategies and evolution of warfare. This gave way more context to the evolution of armor than I originally thought it would, so I was really excited when I realized that it would give more details about key battles and moments in the development of armor.

The book did jump around a little bit with the decades, but most of it was pretty chronological and it was pretty easy to follow. The terminology was also a little tricky sometimes, but the illustrations made it way easier to picture things.

Most of the information seemed pretty sound, but when it comes to history, I think it’s always good to cross-reference and do a little more digging, and this book was written a while ago so we may have found new information over the years. From my limited knowledge though, pretty much everything checked out.

Overall, it was a fun read for me, and I would recommend to anyone else who wants to learn more about the development of armor in Europe!
