Five Kingdoms #3

Hidden Fire

Rate this book
What does it take to face a dragon? When a young wizard named Zollin begins to awaken the magical world, he also sets events in motion that will change the Five Kingdoms forever. In the north a dragon ravages villages and towns. The King's armies are powerless to stop the beast. Refugees begin fleeing to the larger cities in hope of finding safety. In the south, the Council of Kings plot an invasion. Under the influence of the Torr, a group of wizards who have held the Five Kingdoms in their power for three centuries, they turn their attention to bringing Zollin into their fold. They will stop at nothing to control his power, even if it means the assassination of the Crown Prince. As Zollin and his friends strive to bring peace to the Kingdom of Yelsia, they are faced with harrowing dangers and heart wrenching decisions that threaten to tear them apart.

Book 3

I have read the first two books in this series, but didn't leave a review for them. They are both really great books. This one was even better. Likeable characters, beautiful surrounding world and magic, what else could you ask for. Not the cliffhanger ending of this book. Oh my, I want to scream!!! So I am having to start on book four at 1:30am because I know I won't be able to sleep without knowing what's going to happen. Great job to the author for leaving readers wanting more!!! ☺

I read the 2 previous books in this collection and have enjoyed them immensely. I find I'm enjoying the fantasy genre so much. I intend to read the rest of this series and will hopefully find something that is along these same lines to read next. If anyone has any suggestions I would certainly love hearing them.

Review of series is in the first book

I enjoyed the first seven books of the Five Kingdoms series. My review is in the first of the books. But elements were introduced as the series progressed that made me decide not to continue after seven.

I admire Neighbors' writing skills and his imagination. For readers who don't share my objections, you may find him to be one if the best authors you read. Characters like Zollin are what place a book in my favorites list. But, Zollin's morality was not typical of the characters in the story, even the 'good' ones.

First book was good. Went downhill fast

This book to a good directory and made it bad fast. Ridiculous how everyone in politics or a soldier is a completely corrupted and arrogant in the story. Add in that every man is a rapist. Then the main characters become emotionally inept. The monsters become insanely powerful yet defeated by chance over and over and you get this book. I won't be continuing with this series.

Awesome

Awesome read that just gets more intense as the action evolves with magic, dragon, treachery and growth of skills including a little bit of romance.

Great series, a must read, always leaves you with a cliff hanger making you want the next book.

Zollin, the wizard and Brianna, his friend and possible girlfriend need to defeat the dragon that is devastating their world. Even though they have a letter from the King that tells everyone they see that they are to give any kind of help the young couple might need, no one believes it.

While Zollin and Brianna are preoccupied with the dragon, Zollin's father, Quinn and his friend Mansel must try to rescue young Prince Wilam from certain death as the Wizard Council tries to take over the entire country.

Good, believable characters.

I've already read through book 5, I just couldn't stop and write my review.
I HAD to keep going.
You will just have to keep reading because each book gets more exciting as Brianna and Zolin and his dad keep fighting the BAD people.

this book really dragged on for me. the traveling was too long. it seemed the author could have accomplished his point with half as many pages and we wouldn't have missed a thing. this one is making me want to take a break even though I have the next book already.

Another great addition to the Five Kingdoms. My opinion remains that The author has provided such a rich and detailed story with plenty of adventure and overall reading delight that I simply cannot ignore. I think this story is one remember.

it was on...too much absolutism in the narrative... this is the last time, never, etc.

This was not the strongest of the Five Kingdom books. I kinda felt bogged down by the amount of hopping back and forth. But the cliff hanger ending kept me interested in continuing with the series.

Keep it going

Now that you are emotionally connected to the characters, the story is that much more interesting. Keep going if you read 1 and 2

decent, but the pacing was slow, weighted more toward the end.
