Shelley is excited when a student pastry chef offers to work for her as an intern, but she finds that the young woman’s fancy baking skills make her question her own abilities. Is she even in the right business? Can she set aside her insecurities and make the most of this unique opportunity?

Meanwhile, Margaret feels like Goldilocks when she explores fitness classes at the community center: Can she find one that is just right? Diane’s severe writer’s block is aggravated when her beloved canine companion goes missing and she has only herself to blame. But will it take more than recovering Rocky to get her back on track? And just as Beverly takes steps to set up shop as a business consultant, a call from a corporate recruiter may have her moving to bustling Chicago. The opportunity is exciting, but does she really want to leave her father and her friends?

Captivated by the messages in the hard-to-read letters of Jeremiah Thorpe, the four friends feel surer than ever that a treasure is hidden somewhere in Marble Cove. Diane makes an accidental discovery of a map hidden in one of the letters. But will it reveal the treasure’s location or send the women back to square one?

This guidepost series is best read in order, even though you can read it as a stand alone, the story makes more sense when read in order. I didn’t get to read book 8 or 9 and things have changes. Shelley has here commercial kitchen and home baking business. She gets the offer of help from a student pastry chef who has great ideas but are more than Shelley is comfortable with. Shelly’s husband still isn’t working and he doesn’t help much with the kids. Margaret had a health scare and wants to join a fitness class. Diane’s dog goes missing which doesn’t help with her writer’s block. Beverly is working from home for her regular job and trying to start her own business when she gets a call offering her a great job in Chicago. The 4 friends are working on trying to read old letters found in a boarded up steeple at their church. For some reason the minister is totally against them even looking in the treasure hinted at.

This is my least favorite book of this series so far. It is supposed to be a mystery series from Guideposts by various authors, and this one really didn't contain any mystery. Rather it is about changes in each of the group of ladies who make up the main characters. It was interesting to see how God played a role in the changes in each of their lives, but I was really looking forward to a cozy mystery.

This is the tenth books in the Miracles of Marble Cove series. It has some really good parts, especially at the end of the book, but it did drag a bit through much of the story. It was pretty frustrating that Diane seemed to have her priorities out of order--a bit out of character.

I love these four ladies more with each book I read. With their various ages and different personalities, they totally complement each other and it shows in their friendships. I only have two more of the series in my hands and I can't wait to read but then will be sad too when I get to the last one before I can find more in the series. I have tons of other books to read, but just enjoying these series put out by Guideposts.

So far, this is my least favorite book in the series. A lot of the little details don't feel like the characters. Lot's of mention of weight, figure, and eating habits early on is one example, but there were other things that would pull me out of the story because they just seemed uncharacteristic of a character. I know the authors wrote a previous book, but I hope their others in this series are better. I love this series, but sadly, not so much this book of the series.

#10 in the Guideposts' Miracle of Marble Cove series. The focus seems to be away from the lighthouse miracles and now on the mystery of the letters of Jeremiah Thorpe. A good quick read.

Another interesting book in the Miracles of Marble Cove series. The 4 friends are still working on solving the mystery that will save 'Old 1st'.
