Steven Alexander Wright is an American comedian, actor and writer. He is known for his distinctly lethargic voice and slow, deadpan delivery of ironic, philosophical and sometimes nonsensical jokes, paraprosdokians, and one-liners with contrived situations.

1.5 stars, rounded down. A big factor of stand-up is delivery. Without this, these bits almost all feel hollow.
I say this as someone who thinks they might recall his stand-up. If you're not a fan, or familiar with his delivery, avoid.

I saw someone mention that this appears to just be a random person collecting his quotes and publishing them. One quote has parenthesis, which you can add as proof of this. Just a small note it was the person's favourite one.

I've never heard of Steven Wright, but this collection of one-liners and jokes actually makes me want to check him out.

A short book of one-liners mostly, most of which were very old hat. Only one made me laugh out loud.

I think this must be quite old, as a lot of the humour was stale, and some things... we just don't say anymore.

I took this book to a small family gathering. I started to read out loud some of the one-liners. At first, my family resisted the humor as silly. But, with each subsequent one-liner, the resistance subsided - giggles and belly laughs ensued. It is an easily digestible book. Get it.

Caveat: This is a very short e-book of approximately 15 pages with no Table of Contents or Index. This e-book has no identifying info as to publisher or copyright. The lack of a cover is a tip-off that this is not an official, published work. The Wikipedia entry on comedian Steven Wright strongly suggests that Steve did not create this book. It was assembled by someone else. Some of the lines are Steven's, others are not. In any event, it is worth getting.

Read this in one sitting(as it is rather short). Having seen a couple of Steven Wright stand up shows, after discovering him in Half Baked (which is humorous since he remarks this in one of his shows that young people now a days only knew him as "The guy on the couch").

Any ways it is filled with his one liners. Many of them made me laugh while most made me chuckle. But after the second or third page i noticed that it was missing Steven. It just wasn't the same as having him deliver them in his monotonous tone.

Everything I love about Steven Wright: creative use of language, absurdities, etc... is in this short book that gives your abs a great workout when you read it!
