I wanted to like this volume, especially since it was the first one I read after taking a long break from the Mega Man books. And I really liked parts of it. The Proto Man story was great and pulled at my heartstrings, and the one-shot with Roll, Tempo, and Splash Woman was also an excellent spot light for them. But other parts of it fell flat, especially the mess of a time-travel plot at the end that makes absolutely no sense (especially if you don't have comprehensive history of Mega Man). All in all it was a little dissappointing, and I don't know if I necessarily want to continue the series going forward. Then again, the cancellation of the comic might be a factor - it's hard to get excited about an ongoing story if you know it gets cut short without a good conclusion.

A collection of short stories and one shots. The 1rst story detailing the origins of Blues/Proto Man is more than enough to justify the purchase, but the rest of the stories don't leave much of an impression. Only recommended if you're a Mega Man fan.

Apart from protoman back story this fan service filler book offers nothing good.

This volume features several stand-alone stories that vary in effectiveness. Some are definitely deeper stories that adults can enjoy, but some are definitely geared towards kids. This volume took a bit of a step back in my opinion from Volume 4, but it was still enjoyable.

Having been so immersed in Mega Man mythology for so long, I am picking up on references more easily including references to games that Inafune would rather leave forgotten.

The reason this volume is made up of several stand alone stories is because they were gearing up for the Mega Man vs. Sonic event which I expect I will have to read at some point.

I appreciate the exploration of Protoman in this volume as well as the timey wimey story, Rock of Ages, which was a well constructed examination of Mega Man's 25 year legacy. Of course, I also appreciated Roll being featured as the hero in her own story by bringing in the handful of female characters in the Mega Man world.

All in all, I am willing to continue supporting this comic:-)

Exceeds expectations.

Perhaps it's helpful to have twenty years' worth of material in front of you to know where you're going.

The book surprisingly deals with a lot of internal struggles that are well related to the reader. The time travel story is, the authors admit, just a way to show popular characters and is not very good. But it takes up a small part of the book.

Not Shakespeare, this is, but a great use of the cast of characters.

I have read this over 30 times, and I still cannot make sense of it. I don't even know how to explain it. compared to the other Mega Man comics this is below average for the franchise. score 5.1/10
