God is ALIVE, and He wants you to know it. Not only that, He wants you to know HIM.
"Seven Steps to Knowing, Doing, and Experiencing the Will of God for Teens" goes deeper than just knowing about God, it guides you to partner with God in what He is doing all around you to make an eternal difference in this world.
Based on the world-renowned Experiencing God teachings, Tom, Mike, and Daniel Blackaby (Henry Blackaby’s son and grandsons) utilize cartoon illustrations, true-life stories, and fresh graphics as they take an earnest, yet humorous, look at what it means for teenagers to have a vibrate personal relationship with God in their often random and challenging settings.
This book was great. I had to read this because of a bible study that I was doing this summer, and it was very informational. I learned lots of things that I hadn’t known about God before, and I hope to be able to use this knowledge in the future.
One of the greatest questions Christians ask or wonder is "What's God's Will For My Life." This is especially common among teenagers. In the book "Experiencing God" (for sake of typing- I condensed the title) Tom, Mike, and Dan Blackaby direct and encourage teenagers on how to "know and do the will of God." They stress throughout the book, that God's will is not a program, plan, or process...it is a relationship...and it is found in Christ. They give seven practical ways/ truths to help believers seek God and they use Bible passages, personal stories, and stories of others to help engage, encourage, and educate their readers. Great book...would have loved to give it 5 stars; 4 stars seems too harsh! I wish they would have gone a little deeper (theological as well as practical) in some of their points/topics. If you wish to go a little deeper, you ought to check out "Experiencing God" by Henry Blackaby. Definitely recommend it for teenagers.
7 Steps is by no means a perfect, seven step wonder that will bring you closer to God no matter what. In the conclusion, Blackaby makes it clear that there are no exact, easy, one-size-fits-all set of steps in which to enhance your relationship with God. However, this books is a great tool for pointing teens and young adults in the right direction as they seek to draw nearer to God.
This book was an easy, understandable read aimed at a teenaged audience. Teens won't get lost in all the technical terms and high theology, but these three authors keep the readers attention as they draw them further into this quest to experience God. Throughout the book are personal stories and examples, as well as short clips about well known Christians who went through the same sort of things that particular chapter is talking about.
Overall, I thought this was an excellent book and resource for anyone working with teens. I'll be honest, I got a lot out of it myself even as a college student. As I look into youth ministry, this is a book I'll be keeping close by to reference and loan out to both teens and those working with them. Definitely a keeper!
I received a free copy of this book from the publisher for this review. These opinions are my own; I was not required to write a positive review, nor was I compensated for this review.

Although I am well past my teen years, I enjoyed reading this book myself. The stories, both Biblical and personal anecdotes, are written in a manner that is both easy to grasp and very relatable to others. I also loved the cartoons and bits of pop culture included. The 7 Steps: God is always at work around you,God pursues a love relationship with you, God invites you to become involved with Him in His work, God speaks by the Holy Spirit, God's invitation leads to a crisis of belief, Adjustments, and You come to know God by experience as you obey Him and He accomplishes His work through you
By giving examples and asking questions, each step is explained---not in a formulaic pattern, but as a process for the reader to have a deeper relationship with God. I have teenaged grandchildren, and this is a book I think each of them needs to read...and one I believe they will enjoy reading. Very well done!
God wants you to know Him. He wants to have a very important part in your life. The Blackaby family has written another book in the series, this time directed towards teens. The book will guide teens toward a better understanding of how to bring God into their lives and experience His presence every day in their homes.
I'm not a teen, but I really enjoyed reading this book. It was interactive, refreshing, and insightful. The graphics are fun. The note section will be useful for anyone wanting to add their thoughts to the book. The practical and useful suggestions will resonate with teens wanting to do more than just listen while being preached at. I look forward to sharing this with my children when they get a little bit older.

Seven Steps to Knowing, Doing, and Experiencing the Will of God was a well thought out book. From the cover to the content to the extra special tidbits that were provided throughout, this book was perfect for the teenager. I would go so far as to say that this book/workbook-style study is going to be quite a hit for parents seeking to positively influence their teens and for youth ministries focused on building up the next generation.
