This book is precisely exact thing I needed. I wanted something from the extremely essential to the high level. I've been on Pinterest for some time however her ideas assisted me with sorting out the things that made me crazy on Pinterest. With respect to the analysis that it was excessively essential. A decent aide never expects that perusers know everything. It never damages to go over the nuts and bolts. The book was brilliant. I will utilize it over and over as a kind of perspective. I set out to really utilize her tips right away. https://thepinterestvideodownloader.c... A decent perused for any business in the cutting edge worldwide world that utilizes the Internet. Pinterest for Business gives an extremely helpful manual for any entrepreneur to "convert clients to purchasers." This book gives the peruser reasonable data to take part, advance and benefit from the online entertainment webpage, Pinterest.
This book is exactly what I wanted. I needed something from the very basic to the advanced. I've been on Pinterest for a while but her suggestions helped me figure out the things that drove me nuts on Pinterest. As for the criticism that it was too basic. A good guide never assumes that readers know it all. It never hurts to go over the basics. The book was excellent. I will be using it again and again as a reference. I put her tips to good use immediately.
When this book claims to be the Ultimate Guide, it’s not lying! Karen Leland covers everything starting from the basics of how to set up an account and how things work. Once readers get the hang of it, she moves on to strategy, user guidelines (like copyrights, ethics, etc.), and bonus features. Then, she explains how Pinterest can be used for business or career professionals, and even shares some helpful ideas for specific industries.
If you haven’t yet jumped on the Pinterest bandwagon, I highly recommend reading this book to show you what all the hype is about. Throughout the book, Leland shares helpful and intriguing statistics that explain the major advantages of using Pinterest as part of your marketing mix. I thought the various case studies were also helpful. I recommend reading this while having Pinterest open in your browser in order to explore the case studies she mentions and fully understand how it all ties together.
I have spent so much time on Pinterest that I found 90% of the book to be already familiar to me. The new items I learned included converting a personal profile to a business/brand profile. This was great. (How did I not already know this?!) Upon doing so, I didn’t see very much difference other than the buttons for my website (which I’ve already put in place with various plugins). I learned about a few sites that give “Pinterest analytics” and show user influence on the site. Many other social network influence sites have not yet incorporated Pinterest into their scoring system, so this was helpful. There was another section of the book that talked about being able to search on Pinterest to determine what people are pinning from your website. Upon several tries, this continued to bring me to a 404 error page.
Leland includes her personal Pinterest account in the book, so of course, I had to check it out. Unless this is only her secondary account, I was very surprised to find out that the author of this book (who I’d assume would be a Pinterest “expert”), has only made 84 total pins (as of the time of this review- May 23, 2013 at 2:22am EST). This is a very, very low number. To put it into perspective, I’ve made over 4,000 pins on my Pinterest account (to date). I also had about 100+ more followers than her. (Granted, I’m following many more people and my following to follower ratio is upside down.) This leads me to believe that using Pinterest can’t really be all that difficult. However, I’ve worked with clients who have needed some extra help with social media…. While her book may not apply to me personally, it could definitely be of major assistance to someone with little social media knowledge or experience.
All of that being said, I would still give this book 5 stars. It covers everything anyone would need to know about how to use Pinterest and how Pinterest should be incorporated into a business’s marketing mix. This is a book I will absolutely be recommending to my clients to help them learn about the benefits of adding Pinterest as well as how to use it. (This will save me the time of explaining everything while giving them the tools to be successful!)
I have received an electronic copy of this book (an uncorrected advanced proof) from Luxury Reading in exchange for an honest review.
A good read for any business in the modern global world that uses the Internet. Pinterest for Business provides a very useful guide for any business owner to “convert customers to buyers.” This book provides the reader with practical information to participate, promote and profit from the social media site, Pinterest.
The author, Karen Leland, covers everything starting from the basics of creating an account and how to use the site. Throughout the book, the author shares helpful information that explains the key business strategy advantages of using Pinterest, a social bookmarking site that allows users to create a visual, online pinboard with images they love. Good multimedia Pins include: presentations, tutorials, product demos, and behind-the-scenes tours.
Before reading this book, I didn’t have a Pinterest account. Using the information in Pinterest for Businesss, I successfully created an account and set up several boards. I even added some widgets to my own website, which is quickly becoming Pin-friendly. I found that the best way to read this book is to have Pinterest and the Internet open while reading it to practice doing the steps mentioned.
This book definitely covers everything anyone needs to know about how to use Pinterest and how to use it for their business marketing strategy.
I teach journalism at the high school level and after reading this book, I placed it on the resource shelf for my students. For students who haven't used Pinterest, the book will guide them through the setting up an account, and for students who already have an account, the book is a great resource for how to use Pinterest in a professional manner.
The author also uses clear, easy-to-understand language and colorful illustrations.
The first half of this book is far too elementary (unless you've never used the Internet before) but the latter half has some good advice and interesting strategies for using Pinterest to promote your brand.
A good resource with some great tips but the author needs to drink her own Koolaid. When I checked what appeared to be her business Pinterest page there were only 897 followers vs the thousands estimated to be found using her techniques.
