Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Analysis Services: The BISM Tabular Model 1st (first) Edition by Russo, Marco, Ferrari, Alberto, Webb, Chris published by MICROSOFT PRESS
I finished this a couple years ago. Wasn't easy... it's definitely a textbook, and while there's tons of interesting info in here, not much applies to my job so I doubt I'll ever use this knowledge.
Hands down the best book for those who want in-depth understanding of the Analysis Services BISM Tabular Model. The authors have done a great job of researching, understanding, and explaining how the Tabular Model works and how to work with it. Their coverage is comprehensive:
-Setting up the development environment -Loading data -DAX (especially good coverage here) -Querying -Direct query mode -Working with relationships, hierarchies -Power View and PowerPivot -Security -Programmatic access to tabular models -Processing approaches -Optimizing for performance and memory footprint -Monitoring
If you work with the Analysis Services Tabular Model in any degree of depth this book is a must have.
