Let the sinning begin. The first two volumes in a scandalous series are now available in one book.Adam and Beth are the golden couple of Haven High. He’s the all-American jock, she’s blonde perfection, and everyone loves them. Well, almost everyone. Harper has had her eyes on Adam for ages, and Kane wants to get his hands on Beth…but neither can figure out how to make their desires reality.
So they team up with the new girl Kaia. She’s hot, she’s devilish, and she has the perfect plan to get Harper and Kane exactly what they want. But Kaia wants something, too—and she’s willing to do whatever it takes to get it.
When Lust and Envy combine, drama is never far behind…

Story Line: 5 stars out of 5. This book was really fun! I didn't get bored reading it at all. All the characters are very different from each other. They all have interesting personalities. I really didn't want to put the book down, but I did get sick. I read slower because of it. Also I read a little slower because it was a paperback book. I read digital books faster. I felt the pacing of the book was great. There were some scenes in this book that made me want to punch a few of the characters. They deserve it for many reasons. Other scenes made me feel bad for them. Some of the scenes were funny. This book really did remind me of Degrassi (not that I watched it that much) and Mean Girls. Harper wants her best friend. Miranda wants someone she can't have. Kane wants his best friend's girlfriend. Adam wants to stay with his girlfriend, Beth. Beth wants to just pass the SATs and stay with Adam. The new girl, Kaia, wants to be with the new teacher, Jack Powell. There was a lot of drama. I enjoyed the drama. It made me want to move on to the second volume.
Characters: 4.5 stars out of 5. Harper is the alpha girl of the school. I really didn't like her too much. You don't go after someone's boyfriend. You just don't. I don't care if he's your best friend and you feel like he is your soul mate. Harper really needs a punch in the face. I also don't like the way she treats Kaia who is a new girl. She is also really big into sex. Baby girl, life isn't all about sex and backstabbing people. I really hope she grows up in the next few books. She's going to have a tough time in the next book. If her male best friend who she thinks is her soulmate finds out what she's done...she's gonna lose herself. I really won't feel bad for her. She shouldn't treat people the way she does.
Miranda, who is also one of Harper's best friend's, was a better character than Harper. I actually felt really bad for her. She felt bad a lot in the first two books. She felt she was fat and she thought she was bland. She only felt this way because of the boy she actually likes. She is like in love with Kane. She made herself throw up once in the school bathroom. I really can't wait to read more about her in the next two books. She's one of my favorites in the series. I just wish she made better decisions when it came to her choice of friends. Harper used her a lot too.
Adam...poor Adam! I really feel horrible for him. He was the best character in the book. He was sweet, loving, caring, and other things. The ending really didn't do him justice. He got angry because he felt his girlfriend was cheating on him. That was not the case. He was literally so loyal to Beth...that it was just adorable. He did make a few mistakes throughout the book, but he felt guilty for doing what he did. I really couldn't get mad at him. It wasn't really his fault. Adam is like my favorite male in this book.
Kaia is cool. She's not my favorite by far. I didn't like her at moments. Only reason is because she decided to help Harper. She also caused a lot of drama. She shouldn't have helped Harper...and she shouldn't go after her teacher. She did end up wrapping him around her finger though. She also slept with Adam which was a big no no. She is at least better than Harper.
Kane is a jerk. I don't like him either. You don't go after your best friend's girlfriend. That is wrong on very many levels. I don't know how he got all those girls in the book, but he didn't deserve any of them. I really hope he grows in the next book. He has this all about him attitude. I was happy when Adam punched him in the face. He completely deserved it.
Beth was alright. She wasn't the best character. She shouldn't have treated Adam the way she did through the book. She felt like she was so much better than him a lot. Girl please. You were all about yourself. I didn't like that. She was better than Harper though. I will give her that.
(No quotes will be added. There wasn't really anything quote worthy within these two books.)
At first I didn't really like the fact that the story jumps from one POV to the next without much of a transition or ending of the chapter. Bust as I continued to read, I absolutely love the way Robin wrote it!.
I did get a lot of foreshadowing in the beginning of the novel. At the beginning, I was thinking that Harper really needed to keep her mouth shut when it came to people telling her secrets, but then clued in that it would work to her benefit (or so I assumed)
Overall I really enjoyed the book, and everything that happened in it. The ending was such a cliffhanger, and I'm glad that there is more in store for these students of Haven High. There were a couple parts that were a little slow, but overall a great read. Lots of drama, backstabbing and lies, it was hard not to get so involved in it.
okay. this book is definitely not what I've been reading lately. it's set in high school and very, awfully dramatic. but I could not get enough of this book. it was like reality tv. I couldn't put it down.
DON'T READ IT!!! it will not make you a better person, you will start acting like the characters and become influenced by their actions (even if you think you don't), and you will not be a better person. It is just a big teenage drama about who likes who, who's dating who, and who slept with who. really bitchy and messed up. It's just plain stupid. Don't read it, for your own good.
Sorry Robin Wasserman, I think you wrote it really well, but the whole story line and idea just sucks.
could not put this book down because everything was just getting messier and messier. the author is soooo good at making characters i heavily despise (harper) can’t wait to read more
I really liked this book because usually I really like my main characters and this one, I hated. She was obsessed and I found that interesting. But i would only recommend to mature readers because there is a lot of sex.
Wow. So much deception, love pentagons and ways to ruin people. I could stop reading and everytime i did stop i couldnt wait to get back and see what happens next
Wow, what a great read. Definite cannot put down. I found Robin's writing engaging and I loved all of the characters. This is one of the top teen series for me, I loved all of the mystery!
