Another five stars for this beautiful series of Tiki and Ronde Barber books, this one Red Zone, meant for pre-teens. I don't even care or understand one whit about football. But this book is about values, man! And these books make me cry again and again. "You're moved, Mom!" My nine year old is squealing! Yes I am, so you're going to have to finish it. And who is the MVP of the book? Geraldine Barber, who teaches her sons to play proud and play kind, no matter what the obstacles. Who teaches true leadership and resilience, and who raised such fine men, and on her own, without a dime to spare! Nicely done! One more in the series left to go!

do you love football i recommend checking this book out. the genre of this book is realistic fiction because the person who wrote this was a football player and was retired name Mr,Barber.

This takes place at the state champion ship because that`s where they won. This person name tiki wanted to win the playoffs (state champion ships) but there was this disease name the chicken pox. tiki wanted to get rid of them, tiki got rid of the disease so when he did he won the playoffs (state champion ships). this conflict of the story is person vs person because he had to go against another team to be able to win the state champion ship. the major theme of this book is about not giving up because tiki had chicken pox and had to get rid of it and he didn't give up and he won the state champion ship.

My opinion about this book is really awesome because not all can win in a game. i was impressed when Tiki's team won the state champion ship because Tiki had chicken pox and there was no way tiki could of play. i also was impressed that Tiki was the best in there team for an example he made some touchdowns. i also analysed that when tiki had the chicken pox he was not just winning about it he also tried to find a way to cure it.

my other opinion about this book that it is really cool. the major event that changed the character when they won the state champion ship. i was impressed when they won the state champion ship because of the disease called chicken pox but they actually won.

my rate from the scale 0 out of 5 a 5 because i love the way how tiki got chicken pox but still gave hope to him self. i would actually recommend this book to all the football players and fans because its really a good book. so even if you don't like football you can still read it and still like it. this book showed me to not quit because you can go further if you don't give up.

Tiki and Ronde Barber are/were football playing twin brothers. They also write football novels for kids, and this is one of them. I got an advance of this one, and it was quite fun – a kiddie football team being ravaged not by injuries, but by chickenpox. I loved this book without any reservations – it’s the type of book that makes me wish I still worked in a library so I could give it to every kid who walked through the door.

In the book Red Zone by Tiki Barber him and his brother Ronde who are now both in the NFL tell us about how their years of middle school football played out. It was Tiki and Ronde's 8th grade year of middle school and they were bound to win state, they were by far the best team in their conference. Shortly after their season started chicken pox slowly plagued the team.
One after another all the best player on the team started to get chicken pox. After a game Ronde started to break out with chicken pox, he so desperately wanted to play that once he got home he stole some of his moms make up and put it on before so school so he could still play. Then once the chicken pox really got bad he couldn't play. After that when the state championship rolled around Ronde was devistated by the fact he couldn't play. He was sitting on the couch in his living room listening to the radio, he looked outside and it was raining hard, on the radio he heard an update about the state championship game. As he listened attentively he heard the person on the radio say the game was canceled to weather. Ronde was amazed he was so excited. He had his mom drive him to the field that night, everyone on the team was excited to see him.
The next day Ronde and Tiki both played an amazing game they beat the opposing team and the opposing teams kicker missed the kick and thats what made them lose

do you like football if you do well this is the book for you. the genre of this book is realistic fiction. my opinion on this book was that it was great.

my setting is at a football stadium its important because that's where the story mainly takes place. tiki wanted to win the state championship but there was this disease (chicken pox) so tiki wanted to get rid of them then so when he got rid of them he won the state championship. the type of conflict is person vs person because tiki and his team have to go against another team for the state championship.

my opinion of this book is that it is fantastic. I was surprised when at the end tikis team won the state championship. Also I was satisfied when i read that tiki was the m.v.p on their team.

my other opinion of this book is that its wonderful. a major event that changed the character was when they won the state championship. another thing is that i had predicted that they might not win since they had the chicken pox but it turned out that they really won.

I would rate this book from 1to 5 stars a 3 star because I really don't like that much football. I would recommend this book to someone who likes to watch and play football. So in conclusion
if you really like football this is the book for you.

I would give Red Zone by Tiki and Ronde Barber a 4 out of 5 stars. I would give Red Zone a 4 out 5 stars because I like reading football books and I can relate because they're my age. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes reading football books and who like's a problem and solution in a book.

Tiki and Ronde Barber are in 8th grade now and it's their second year playing football. Tiki is the starting running back and Ronde is the starting corner back for the Hidden Valley Eagles in Virginia. They are just starting school and there football season with an undefeated record. They are trying to win the football State Championship of Virginia. They face many problems during the season but the worst of all was the chicken pox's and it all started because John Berra got them and chicken pox's are contagious unless you already had them before.

The text hones in upon the play-by-play action of a state title run. Themes within story revolve around brotherhood, pushing yourself, and grit.

Chicken pox, the fear of the virus and the manifestations of the virus, is a constant thread through the story. Tiki and Rhonde, including their teammates, have to overcome an outbreak within the locker room and continue to push themselves on the field. Introducing the magic shoes in the title game is a strange insertion, as is the ice storm, but no matter. The book is quick story for young readers interested in football--there is a play chart in the back of the text.

I really liked this book. I thought that there was a perfect amount of intensity drama and action. For being a non-fiction book that I don't read much it sucked me in. When ronde got the chicken pox and almost missed the last game was so good. I liked how they told the readers about what was going on at their school. over al I give this book a 10 out of 10.

Tiki & Ronde Barber, pro-football players, write about their experiences playing middle-school football. Though this book includes excitement of the game, it is a story about the importance of teamwork and telling the truth. Great for readers ages 8-10 interested in football.

Red Zone, by Tiki and Ronde Barber, was an amazing book filled with adventure and worries. This book is about two young boys, Tiki and Ronde Barber, the two brothers play football together, but after the team began to get chicken pox, they were worried about what would happen if the best players on the team weren't able to compete in the championship. I thoroughly enjoyed the book , because it enhanced my knowledge of football. I found that this book gave me a better perspective on teamwork, patience, perseverance, and trust. I would recommend this book to someone who is interested in football, hope, and teamwork.

Book Bin Review: Red Zone
Red Zone by both Tiki and Ronde Barber is about a middle school football team who are the underdogs of the whole state playoffs. On their playoff run they talk about the hardships and the obstacles of the whole playoff run. Even with adversity they persevere there way to many wins.
The eagles HAD barely made the city playoffs by a few different things going for them. The team was now on track with many bumps from within the regular season. The team's best players was Tiki who was a running back and Ronde who was a cornerback. The team struggles, but make it through games with one mistake made and the season could be over. The team played with a chip on there shoulder playing against teams that were power houses during the regular season and how the Eagles barely made the playoffs. Also another variable they had to get through was how many players were being taken out with the chicken pox . They had to make many changes to the roster so they had to move players to different positions. The struggle to play was so bad that Tiki put his mom’s makeup on himself to cover up the spots and say there was some magical cure. Sadly though his mom found a big brown spot on his pillow and he had to confess.
I enjoyed Red Zone and it is fitting for readers who like the following. The games were also action packed with many crazy plays that would tell the whole story of each of the games. The characters had so many different personalities. One example is Ronde who was so calm and so humble during the whole playoffs. Another thing I thought was great about the book was that it felt like I was playing with them and how relatable all the things in the book were to my experience with football. The thing that brought it over the top for me was the suspense. All the games would go down to the wire and you don’t know if the Eagles season would come to the end or not.

Red Zone and Paul Mantell the author is a book about these two brothers before they went to the NFL. It starts when they are kids and just playing around in the backyard and with their friends. To be more specific, it’s when they were on the ninth-grade tackle football team and they loved football and were on the same team. It is the last year to be in the middle school. These two are at the top of there game. They end up going to the NFL, and these 2 both become NFL running backs, Tiki Barber played for the New York Giants and Ronde Barber was a running back for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
I think the book is worth reading for me because I love sports and if you want to know more stuff about some legends in sports like these two Barbers in the NFL. What I don’t like or should I say is what I wish they had in the book is that I wish they had it when they were in the NFL end it where they were playing in the NFL and then there teams play each other or something I don’t know but I wish something in the book where they were in the NFL. I also didn’t like where there wasn’t much other characters and I know that it’s about Ronde, and Tiki but if it’s about them then why not put their friends in their because they are apart of their lives. Right? I love the way that they presented the book to everyone and how they told the story of these really great players and how they started it from the beginning of their lives and not when they were old but I guess that’s kind of a no brainer. I love those kind of books though so that’s why I mentioned that. Yes I can make a connection where they were describing football to their parents and I had personal connections because I love football and it seemed like they just described football how I would describe it. I love how they act because they didn’t have the nicest stuff or the biggest house and yet they were so disciplined in that way without the parents having to teach that yet. They had like ripped clothes and they were still the best on the team by far. They still played as a team and played as a team with each other (as brothers.) Voice is important because it sometimes determines how much you like the character in the way they act and if they are bratty acting or if they were awesome and nice people which is the thing with this book.
I feel like it’s about “If playing like a champion means discipline then so be it.” This book inspired me a little bit and that if you are poor that it doesn’t mean you are not a good player and you can’t play or you suck or whatever you may think that is holding you down from doing something you like doing. I think this applies to the book because it is an inspiring book to all and that everyone can be a champion. To be a champion you can be poor rich or even small or tall and can be thin or big.
