This fantastic new fiction reading series for children aged 5+ combines structured phonic progression with great artwork and fun stories. Phonics enables new readers to recognize the individual sounds of English and to blend them, building confidence to tackle unfamiliar words without relying on memory and guesswork.Developed under the guidance of an expert consultant, I Love Reading Phonics matches the phonics that children are being taught in school.
Julianna & I took turns reading this book. She gives it 5 stars. Short but cute & cute illustrations! I recommend it because it has Words to review in beginning of book and highlights the words in story. Then at end of book, it goes over letters and sounds such as S as in sat. ee as in feet. We went over these as part of our read-a-thon minutes.

This story comes from a company called I Love Reading Phonics, and this particular story focuses on the "ie" sound. In the front of the book, there is a page with reading tips, such as tricky and/or new words that students might encounter in the story and "extra ways to have fun with the book." I thought the ideas on this page would be helpful and great ways to expand/work with the story other than just reading it. As I read the story, I was surprised by how many "ie" words were in it! The authors are very creative in how they were able to use such a large amount of words in one story. I would not have been able to come up with all of these on my own. These would be great words to put on a word wall.
