Force of Nature #5

Unstoppable Force

Rate this book
“Please. I’m begging you, just kill me.” He turned back to her and she could see his eyes. They were beautiful. A warm dark brown that made her heart pound. Shaking her head slightly, she grabbed the fur on his chest. “Do it, damn it. What the fuck are you waiting for?” Lou shook him then and he growled again. “Kill me.”

Ginger Louise Cavanaugh, preferably Lou, has been on the run for the last ten years. She hadn’t run far enough because that bastard foster father had found her and beaten her again. Now the judge orders her to work out her ninety day sentence at the Force compound or go back to jail. The thought of jail is looking better and better. It is just a matter of time before he finds her again. Hurt and delirious with fever she just wants to die, but the wolf with the beautiful eyes won’t cooperate.

The entire compound has been looking for Lou. Connor Force catches her scent on the wind and follows it to her. He can’t believe it. The new hired help is his mate and the danged woman is begging him to kill her.

Trust doesn’t come easy for Lou. Everyone she has ever known has betrayed her. Connor and his family have sworn to protect her, but when a greater evil kidnaps their mother will their resolve falter?

With Connor’s help Lou taps into her inner-self to rise above it all because only an Unstoppable Force can save them now.

Ginger Louise Cavanaugh has been running since she can remember. She has an unusual gift which has made her a target and now beaten once again, Lou is ready to stop the pain. Asking Connor to kill her, he is stunned. Lou is his mate, his to protect, his to love. However the hot tempered redhead is not opening her arms with a warm welcome. Tensions build and Lou remains a target.

This was disjointed. Not the story itself but the way it read in kindle it went from scene to scene and you had to reread to figure out why it jumped. Story itself was god but a bit predictable. I didn't really feel there was a connection between Lou and Connor, at least not immediately. Liked seeing the other characters in the book though.

I very much enjoy this series, and this book was wonderful. I loved Lou and my heart broke for everything she'd been through. Connor was very much a man - focused on caring for and protecting Lou without bothering to explain or get her opinion, but his momma just smacked him with that wooden spoon until he figured it out. I thought some of Lou's backstory was a bit much, and it got a little confusing at times, but I still thought it was a great book.

This is the fifth book in Kathi S. Barton's "Force of Nature" series and the first book in her second boxset. What can I say except this is an exceptional story? Ginger Louise Cavanaugh, aka Lou, has been on the run for ten years now. Initially, when her parents threw her out of the house and sent her away she'd been four. After going from foster home to foster home, the final straw came when Herman, her foster father, continued to demand she uses her powers to do things she knew were wrong. Lou has become so damaged and in pain from being so hurt she winds up on the Force's property. Staring at a huge wolf, begging for him to just kill her quickly, leaves Connor almost dumb-founded at the request. He knows she's his mate. The source of the evil in this storyline had me blown away when I finally found out who and what he was. The pack has increased, the family is growing, and momma has an entire collection of wooden spoons she puts to good use. I loved it!

I really like the stories and the characters but I don't like the writing style and I had some difficulties with the time line and the way the stories progressed. Also because the stories seemed to ramble a bit I often had trouble keeping up with with who was speaking and had to often stop to reread to place the part of the story in perspective

This Book/Series is Unstoppable!

Connor & Lou's story was fantastic & I couldn't stop reading it until it was done; so I finished it in 1 day. Lou has been on the run from some bad people; one wanted to use her skill to win himself some money & the other wanted to use her eggs to make a supreme being that he would be able to control. When Lou meets Connor he's s in his wolf form & she begs him to kill her gently as she doesn't want to get caught by either of the men chasing her & because she's tired of running. Connor can't because he's just realized that she's his mate. At 1st Lou doesn't want anything to do with him or the rest of the Force family because she has trust issues & because she thinks that at the 1st sign of trouble that they will turn her over to the men chasing her. Nancy Force is also back with her wooden spoon & this time she's using it on Connor who thinks about swiping her spoon & hiding it. Eventually Connor & Lou not only mate but together they get rid of one of the 2 men that were after her; at the end of this HEA standalone book the entire pack & the vampires that are their friends help to take down the other bad guy. This book was excellent & now I'm off to read the next book in this series.

These Force boys sure know how to pick them, seems like their mating's are doomed from the beginning and are never easy. Lou is hiding and on the run, forced to work at the Force compound she is biding her time until she can slip away and get lost again. Austin can tell she is hurt but she wont give an inch and is pushing his buttons, he does not know what to do with her. Finding his mate, sick and in pain collapsed in the woods is not what Connor was expecting, when she begs him to kill her his protective instincts kick in. This was an interesting storyline, again the female is a mystery and is as stubborn as the men. Both main characters are strong, stubborn and set in their ways, the sparks that happen when they come together both verbally and physically will make you smile. Lou is a fun character, I found her easy to relate to as I saw some of my own personality in her character. Now if I could have just been blessed with her gift or curse depending on how you view it. As always twists and turns keep you turning the pages as you watch these two characters find their way.

You would think that Connor would have a clue on how to treat someone just by watching his brothers, but it appears that he wasn't paying much attention to what was going on around him. Poor man. Good thing he has a thick skin and a hard head. I'm thinking about sending Lou some to keep handy. The Force family just keeps getting bigger and I think it would be blast to revisit them in say 30 from now just to see what happens with all the kids. I wonder what kind of influence the wives and extended families will have on them. Could be interesting. In true Ms. Barton form we get drawn into the world of wolves and vamps and other magical beings. We learn to love them all again and again and we aren't finished with them yet. I will say again, read these in order or you will be lost on the dynamics of the family.

I was given a copy of this story to read in exchange for a honest review.

Unstoppable

This was paranormal writing at it's best. Connor Force didn't expect to run into his mate in the woods asking him to kill her. Ginger Louise Cavanaugh (Lou) was a young woman who was tired of life and ready to give up. This book held me captivate from the first page to the last. With Connor not knowing what to do to make his mate happy and Lou who doesn't won't a mate at all. We also get a chance to see the other family members and their spouses to see what happens after the HEA. There were a lot of twist an turns and steamy sex that makes this book such a awesome and fantastic read. This is a series that once you start you will never want it to end.

I think I am addicted to this series. Actually to anything written by Kathi S. Barton. I cannot get enough of her books.

Unstoppable Force moved along at a great pace, had characters that you fall in love with and a story that will keep you entertained for hours. I could not put it down until I finished reading the very last word.

I am looking forward to reading more of Kathi's books in the very near future.

A decend read but i didnt love it

This book was ok but at times I found myself losing interest. That being said however the character depth was strong and well portrayed. I do feel it's currently listed price of $5.99 is way too pricey....especially with it barely being 200 pages long.
