The Simple Man Chronicles

Rate this book
A collection of work over a five year span of self reflection. Heartfelt writing that expresses an entire lifetime of tragedy and discovery, put into poems, songs and true life short stories. Share joy, sorrow, politics, faith and philosophy. The contents and work contained within this book is all that of one man. Every word summoned by my soul and poured into print.

I was raised dirt poor and had to drop out of school so that I could work and help out my family. By the time I was 25 I had lost 7 members of my immediate family. In one four year period I had lost my mother, brother, father and younger sister.

In order to cope I lost myself in manual labor and became a workaholic. By being at work all the time I didn’t have to face the deep grief that lay waiting in my subconscious.
But in 2006 I found that I could no longer run from the demon that was chasing me. I had been in a car accident that left me unable to work; therefore no longer able to escape my own mind. I finally faced my grief by writing and expressing myself, and thanks to the friends I had made on Myspace. I was then able to write under the screen name of Simple Man. The more I wrote the better I was able to cope.

This book is a compellation of those writings. I feel that the words are written with my blood, as it is the rawest of my feelings poured out onto a page for the world to see. I bared my soul in this book and I hope that comes through to all who read it.

I have been a fan of Miles' since the days of MySpace. I couldn't wait to read his next blog post. Now I have the collection of some of his favorites, and I loved reading them over again. Everything he writes is packed with such emotion and power. I highly recommend this one!
