This book was another self-publishing nightmare for me. The premise of the story is more than a little overdone, but solid. The characters were likable enough, even if the hero's proper use of English left me reading his sentences as if he were Ferris' monotone teacher calling role in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off". Still, I felt at the beginning that it could have been a very pleasant, soak-in-a-bath fluffy read, had it not been for the over abundance of grammatical, spelling, and even typographical errors.

By the end of the first chapter I was pretty firmly convinced that the author had skipped the proof-reading and beta reading part of writing a book. Then I reached the 25% mark on the book and read the same opening paragraph to a mid-chapter break twice. Sure that I was mistaken I looked up, then back. No mistake was made on my part. I was actually reading the same opening paragraph twice. Apparently "select, type over selected text" didn't quite work...and NO ONE caught this before publication. I'm not sure how that happened, as my brain tripped over it like a chunk of broken sidewalk meeting with my always clumsy feet! Oh, and in case anyone reads this who has access to editing the story you can find this huge guffaw at Location 543 of 2090.

I forced myself to finish this book, just to see where it ended up. The further along I got the more choppy and rushed the story became. New bits of plot were introduced by just flinging them out there, with no lead up or explanations given. Finally the end arrived and I found myself scratching my head, wondering what on earth possessed me to stick this story out.

Had I paid for this book, rather than snatching it as a free offering on Amazon I would be LIVID right now. Because it was free, however, I'm left with nothing but self-loathing for wasting precious hours of my existence.

A little lesson, authors, if you please. Grammar MATTERS. Proper punctuation, too. As well as spelling, editing, proof-reading, and asking people to beta your stories. On the subject of beat readers I have a small piece of advice...do NOT ask a "friend" to beta your work. They are going to be more concerned with hurting your feelings than helping you produce a quality work of fiction. That's how love works...the person matters more than their dream most of the time. Instead, ask someone who you know will be brutal. It will save you the utter embarrassment of reviews like this one.

Lola James has a way to keep me smiling all throughout her stories. Bound to Remember is a fun read filled with mystery, sexual tension, a vampire and Greek Gods.
At first I thought that this was going to be another hot vampire falls I love with a human and they have obstacles to overcome story. Boy was I wrong! Turns out the human has issues that the vampire wasn't aware of.
Bound to Remember is full of excitement and organized chaos that kept the story entertaining and fun to read. The twist at the end was a pleasant surprise as was the addition of Greek gods. I am fast becoming a huge Lola James fan and look forward to reading more of her work!

Bound To Remember is Lola James first novel, and it’s a good one. She weaves a clever and flirty tale between a doctor, Antonia Nikos and a male nurse, Benjamin Slaton who is also a debonair vampire. Both feel an instant attraction to one another and come to realize they’re far more connected than either of them realize as their worlds collide.
I enjoyed this cute and fanciful tale in a few hours, so if you’re looking for an epic paranormal romance, this is not your book. The plot, while not overly surprising and without any convoluted twists and turns, is interesting enough to move you swiftly through the story.
The only complaints I had was the lack of any kind of sexual heat and a stiff dialogue. I don’t know if James wanted this to be categorized as a young adult novel, but I’ve read several steamier young adult books. There is some kissing, but not nearly enough and the only real exchange is blood. Disappointing, but I’m a sucker for hot, steamy romance and it might not be everyone’s bag.
I think, with time, James will improve her dialogue-writing skills and as an author myself, I sympathize. It’s truly difficult to write clever, inspired and natural-sounding dialogue but my advice, if she reads this, is use contractions; don’t instead of do not, can’t instead of cannot, etc. Without those, the lines sound formal and stiff.
For the price, I would definitely recommend this book. It’s nice and sweet brain candy that is both entertaining and affordable.

I had this book sitting on my Kindle shelf for awhile now, and I finally decided to read it after finishing another book by Lola . Again, she won me over with the characters and the story line.

What I love about her books is that I can relate with her lead female characters, they aren’t perfect, they have or seem to think they have imperfections. Toni is no exception. Though she is a doctor, she isn’t like her friend Dawn. Popular with the guys and such. Then walks in Ben, tall, dark and oh so sexy. He is a nurse who attracts everyone around him but he only has eyes for one and that is Toni.

This was such a fun read and didn’t end like I expected to, of course with a cliffhanger, but lucky I bought book 2 so I won’t have to wait long to find out what happens. If you haven’t read any of Lola’s books I highly suggest you do so, if you are fan of light, fun, paranormal.

Not a bad story..... The ending just didn't sit well with me. Left me feeling a little unsatisfied. Seemed just a tad bit rushed after everything leading up to it. But i suppose that's why there's a part two.

Anywho, I was really captivated by the story although it was a bit much. Just less than three days and all ready Toni's best friend is believing that she and Ben are "together"? I'd smack my best friend for ever believing a lie like that from me, let alone smack her for not smacking me for thinking I'm in love with some guy I only met yesterday. But anyway, I still enjoyed the journey of Toni and Ben. They're a little quirky together so it made it easier for me to like them.

Not sure if I'm going to continue on reading the series but I won't completely rule it out.

I was really enjoying this book. The pacing was great... maybe a bit rushed, the characters were easy to connect with (except for the rushed pace which felt unnatural at times) the story fresh... then I tap to turn a page and I am at the end?! I back paged to be sure I didn't miss something. Seems like maybe the book shouldn't have been so rushed or books 1 and 2 should have been combined to create a complete book 1. I was happy with the writing, the characters and the story but the ending turned this from a 5 star review to a 3. I am not even sure if I am going to buy the second book in the series. The ending was a big disappointment for me.

Probably one of the worst books I have ever read. That will teach me to be more careful when I download free self-published books from Amazon!

So many of these free books feel like they were written by a 15-year-old! This is certainly the case with Bound to Remember. The writing is awful and I wonder if the book was edited at all (repeated paragraphs, spelling mistakes, grammatical errors...). The development of the story is ridiculous and the characters uninteresting. I definitely won't be reading other books by Lola James in the future.

Tried reading a paranormal romance set in an ED. Gave up 10 pages in. Then I powered thru it but -10/10 will find a way to delete.

The plot wanted to be good but was so so bad. Also, see below for what I texted my fellow night shift nurses. The way the author handled both nights and the ED...UGH. No one needs 16 hours of sleep when they work nights! Source: I work nights and am considered spoiled by my coworkers because I regularly get ~7 hours.

WHY IS THE DOCTOR SHOWING THE NEW HEAD SURGICAL NURSE AROUND????? WHY DOES AN ED HAVE A HEAD SURGICAL NURSE ANYWAY AND WHY TF ARE SURGICAL ROOMS AND A PACU IN THE ED??????? And time is done all wrong for 8 hour shifts. The part that really killed it for me was when the doctor's patient died during her CT scan and no code was called?? The doctor found out her patient for all of 2 minutes who she never followed up on bit it and is sobbing?????????

I got this as a free book from Amazon Kindle, not realizing that it was the first part of a serialization. I wrote a review for it and everything before coming here and finding out that it wasn't a complete story. My feelings towards this as a novella were a lot more forgiving than they are now that I know this is the first part of a longer series.

Lest you think I'm just being bitter about the manipulations of the author to make us buy the next book (and, okay, yes, I am), even as a novella, this was problematic. Things moved forward at a break-neck speed, particularly the second half of the book, where new ideas were introduced without proper explanation or foundation. I mean, it's one thing to hint at a vampire character, since vampires are so prevalent in popular culture -- a reader knows what to expect. The bits about Greek gods were just too vague to give me an idea of how the author was using this particular piece of mythology. At times it felt like I was reading the second-to-final draft that just needed to be tightened up just a little bit to be truly good.

But then there was the ending. Back when I thought it was a standalone novella and I reached it, it made me angry -- completely out of the left field. Then I thought about it and I realized it could actually be good -- I don't need my endings to be neatly wrapped up, so I could appreciate if even if it was a little clumsily carried out. It needed a little more foundation to be properly effective. Then I found out that it was a deliberate cliffhanger to get everyone to read the next book, I got angry again because with this ending, Bound to Remember does not standalone as its own story as all books in a series should. The only time I give an author a pass is if the book is getting to be too long and unwieldy -- but coming in at just around 100 pages, this is not the case. Instead, I was stuck reading something that felt like the first five chapters of a twelve-chapter book.

Having said all that, to end of a positive note, the first half of this book I uncomplicatedly enjoyed. It was nothing serious and more importantly, an interesting blend of the medical drama and the vampire story, which was quite novel to me, so that automatically wins points in my world. It was really interesting the way the author blended different mythologies, vampires and Greek gods, medical and romance fiction.

I know novellas are short and fast paced but I wish the relationships in them could truly develop and not feel like “lust at first” sight cause that's what they feel like to me in all the New Adult novellas. I think this and two other things were the only problems I had with this short, the rest was enjoyable. It's light and fun with the mixing of mythology. Mixing vampires and Greek gods was a blast and I can totally see it, most definitely an original idea. Now if only this tale was longer so things could develop more gracefully.

The second problem I had was the voice of the main character, Toni (Antonia). Sometimes she sounded mature and other times she didn't. When she didn't sound mature it always felt like it was at the wrong times, like when she's at work. She's a Dr. and sometimes at the work place I didn't feel like she was always professional. Which had me wondering what her age was?

One unprofessional thing she did that bugged me is when she cried for a patient of hers, that died, in the break room around her coworkers. Now I'm not insensitive but I know how professional they have to be, and they can't ever be like that in front of people. Plus, the author wrote that it isn't her first patient to die (also this patient, she met her a few hours before she past so it’s not like she really knew her). So this got me thinking again, does she burst into tears every time one of them past? If so, then how does she stay in work if it always gets to her? Look, I've been around nurses my whole life so I know they have to hide their emotions so they can get the job done. If they don't hide them, then they can freeze and lose a patient. So that scene just got to me.

Another thing I didn't like was the rush of the ending. It came fast and I wished it didn't, especially since it held a lot of twists. Which led me to feel like those twist couldn't truly develop properly.

But other than those things, I did enjoy it. I was able to get hooked and fall into the storyline. I'm very interested to see what happens next so I will most definitely continue this series. P.S it’s free on Amazon so if this peeks your interest then I most definitely recommend you downloading it.

When I was contacted by the author to do a review, I knew I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. I’ve heard great things about her and the book was right up my alley when I read that it involved vampires.

It was just another day at work for Dr. Toni Hollander until Nurse Ben Slaton walks in. They are instantly attracted to one another and she’s ecstatic when she learns she will be his personal tour guide. After seeing the chemistry between the two, Toni’s ex, Kevin, tries to interfere with no luck. Things are really starting to heat up…that is until Toni finds out that Ben is a vampire. With this newly learned information, Ben insists on protecting Toni as he says she is in danger just by associating with him. Toni doesn’t know what to do so she turns to an old college friend, a witch named Annie. Things take a disastrous turn after a visit with Annie leaves Toni in the Underworld.

I really liked Toni. She was a strong, confident doctor until Ben came around. When Ben arrives she turns into jelly, becoming a babbling fool. The way they interact together is a little comical. As for Ben, he kind of creeped me out at first because I was figuring him out as Toni was. He just stares at Toni, looking deep into her eyes for no reason. One minute he’s across the room from her and in the blink of an eye he is beside her. It’s a lot of craziness until I find out that he’s a vampire.

This was a short, fun read. It will capture your interest from the beginning and hold it until the very end. James gives great hints at Ben being a vampire but you still feel like you’re figuring it out piece by piece as Toni does. I love the way she had the characters interacting with one another, especially Ben and Toni’s attraction to each another. There are also some hints at Toni’s family and past that I can’t wait to find out more about. The only problem I had with the story was that it ended in a cliffhanger. I kept trying to turn the page because I couldn’t believe it was over!

I would recommend this book to those who are fans of the paranormal and supernatural, especially those who find vampires appealing. Although classified as an adult read, there isn’t anything overly graphic about it so I think it would be suitable for young adults as well.

A well written, very easy book to read. Not much bad language or sex scenes so would say ok for latter YA audience.

So, Toni is our girl for the book. She is a doctor in her local A&E.
Ben is introduced at the meeting almost at the beginning of the book. He is a nurse and is told to shadow Toni so he can get the gist of the A&E.

But this isnt the first time Ben has seen Toni....and she has a canny resemblance to his ex....his DEAD ex....

Toni is smitten almost immediately, and within days she trusts Ben.
Staying at his one night she tried to find something to eat and decides to have some of the "tomato juice" that Ben drank the night before....

...only...yup - its no tomato juice. Its blood, and this heralds Bens confession of being a Vampire. But a good one, naturally!
Which explains night shifts, the red drink, the blotting in her memory that hes altered.

He DOES tell Toni about the ex that resembled her. He tells her about a witch who had spelled a fellow vamp to be able to walk in the sunlight. And believes she betrayed him.

Toni knows exactly what to do. She begs Ben not to alter her mind, even tho he insists shes in danger with the knowledge.
She has a friend that she met in Uni who used to claim to be a witch...maybe she was telling the truth? Could SHE spell Ben to be able to walk in sunlight?

This has a wierd twist to it. Ben's "boss" is Hades - yeah, THE Hades. And he and Toni have a history that Toni cannot remember and cannot ever remember being with him or being apart from Ben.

So they fly to meet her friend.
Will she help? Who's her mentor, and why is she so spooked?
Does her glimpse into the Underworld at Hades ring any bells - for her OR for Hades?
Shes adamant shes in love with Ben.
This puts her love for him, and life as she knows it in the balance.......

Leaves on one heck of a cliffhanger, and im itching to pick the next book up soon which i will be doing!!
As said at the beginning, a real easy read, no concentration needed, the pages flow, the characters are well written...i need to read the next!!

Bound to Remember is the first book in a new series by Lola James. The story is about a young doctor named Toni Hollander. She works at a hospital with her best friend Dawn and ex-boyfriend, Kevin. Life is pretty normal until the day a new nurse starts working at her hospital. The new nurse is Benjamin, and Benjamin has a secret, he's a vampire. Benjamin's secret is going to complicate Toni's life. Things become further complicated when Toni and Ben share a steamy kiss, infuriateing Kevin. Through a series of twists and turns and some help from a witch friend, Toni discovers that there are things about herself she didn't know. Will she find out before it's too late? You'll have to read and find out.

Bound to Remember was an enjoyable read, that I gave 4 stars too. It's a quick read, and is fast moving, and holds your interest. I enjoyed it so much that I finished it in one sitting. The book is appropriate for young adult readers as well as adults. Even though it's a paranormal romance, there is nothing overly graphic in nature.

Toni is a character that I found to be immediately likable. She is someone who is very relatable. I also enjoyed the antics of her friend Dawn. Benjamin is also very likable. He has faced many losses in life (and undeath) which makes you want to comfort and console him like Toni does. I can't wait for the second book in the series to see how these characters develop.

Bound to Remember has a surprising ending. Shocking, I might say. I couldn't believe the way everything twistsed and turned into this final moment. I am dying for the second book so I can see what becomes of Toni.

There are so many vampire stories out there. At first they began to blend all together. Now, I’m pleasantly surprised to see many authors taking different twists on the old stories and giving readers something new and entertaining. Lola James has done just that with her Bound to Remember book.

A young doctor finds herself strangely attracted to a new nurse. Immediately, strange things start happening as Toni feels herself unexplainably drawn to Ben. The more she learns, the more confused everything becomes. Suddenly, witches and the Greek gods become part of the unbelievable tale. Soon she’ll wonder what the truth really is.

This book does not give the reader time to get bored. Strange things start happening immediately. The story then progresses very fast and definitely not in a state that we would call ‘normal’. Then again this is a story of vampires and Greek gods and witches. How normal should it be?

Ms. James’ writing is light and at times funny. Her characters are likeable. You won’t find stiff writing here. She writes in a style that is extremely casual and easy to read while not being elementary.

This is a paranormal romance. Vampires, blood, gods, and witches are all part of it. There is no foul language and intimate scenes are more hinted at and thought about then portrayed.

What I loved about this book the most is the ending. I have to read the second book now. In fact, I’ll start it in a few minutes. This is one that will have you wondering what is going on and have you demanding to know.

Note: This book was given to me by the author with no expectation of a positive review.

**2.5 Fiery Hearts**

*I received this book free from Mark My Words Book Publicity in exchange for an honest review*

I have to start out my review by saying that it was originally part of a blog tour, but it was canceled after I read the book and I still feel obliged to write my review. I can say that very poor editing made this extremely difficult to read, but I can also say that it is currently being re-edited so hopefully readers will be able to concentrate more on the storyline instead of trying to figure out if they read the last sentence incorrectly or if it really made no sense at all.

Toni is a doctor and seemed to be a pretty good one until Ben, aka Nurse Hero, shows up and then she begins hesitating. And hesitation from a doctor is not a good thing. Neither is flirting with the new nurse and going home with him the first night, and yet she does it anyway.

Ben has entirely too many secrets, but they slowly come out into the open as he and Toni get closer. He’s a sweet guy and it’s hard not to like him, but the way he speaks and responds to questions drove me insane. I understand that it’s just part of his characteristics, but I sometimes felt as if he seemed almost robotic.

This is a short book and the plot is okay, but when I finished it I didn’t get the urge to hurry out and buy the next one. And that’s saying a lot because it ends on one heck of a cliffhanger.

If you like books about vampires, witches, and demons then you may enjoy this, but I suggest waiting for the re-edited version due out in May or June.

This books really holds your interest. It is completely obvious that the author is a big The Vampire Diaries fan, or so I would assume with many of the same plot and vampire characteristics. Enchanted jewelry or spells so they can walk in the sun, witches, the main character looking exactly like a vampire that has been killed in the past, even the use of the name Catherine. Being a fan of The Vampire Diaries myself, I didn't mind that. It was a fun read. The author also brings in a little Greek mythology through the character of Hades, which is a new fun addition. The grammer was a little sketchy throughout the book...words clearly left out, or words printed twice in a row. There was several moments where the storyline just moved along too quickly for me to truly get what was going on. I found myself asking questions such as "why is she doing this again?", as if the explanations of the unfolding plot were just not always completely clear. The main character often acts in a way that to me is very unrealistic, which at times was a bit off-putting. It is somewhat short and ends at a huge cliffhanger. I immediately wanted to grab the second book just to see what happens, but after letting in settle...I'm not 100% sure I will purchase the next book. It wasn't really one of those books that you read and just sit and think...I'm glad I spent my time reading that! Now, I just think...eh. Gave me something good to read before bed for a few nights, was interesting, gave me my vampire fix, but really nothing that superb for me.

Bound To Remember is an interesting mish-mash of Greek mythology, vampires, witches, and of course, romance.

Toni is living her life as an emergency room doctor. She doesn’t have time for much more than her job but she would like a little romance. Her ex Kevin is working in the same department and seeing him all the time reminds her how lonely she is.

Enter Ben, the new ER nurse assigned to Toni for orientation. The attraction is strangely obsessive. Toni can’t get Ben out of her mind and when they kiss…it’s volcanic in reaction.

Toni’s relationship with Ben opens up all kinds of strange thoughts and feelings. Nothing seems to make sense and then she discovers Ben isn’t human. He’s a vampire hiding from Hades. And if that isn’t crazy enough, now Toni is in danger from Hades as well!

At first, Toni scoffs at Ben’s concern. Hades isn’t real! But then, aren’t vampires mythical as well? As Toni begins to fall in love with Ben, the discovery of her secret life threatens to destroy any chance they have of a life together. She contacts an old friend who always dabbled in magic…perhaps there is more to these myths and legends than she thought!

This story is quite short, and is the first part of a series. The ending is a cliffhanger, designed to make you want to read the next book. I like the premise but I found it all a little contrived at the end. There are so many questions not answered about Toni’s other life. I hope they are resolved in the next books.

3 out of 5 stars.

Ok, so I will admit that I was a little iffy about reading this book at first. I never really heard anything about this book or author but after trying the sample on my kindle I immediatley bought it and don't regret it.
It is fast paced leaving you reading it from start to finish. Its about a young resident Dr. Toni Hollander who gets assigned a new night shift nurse named Ben who happens to be one sexy nurse. There is of course the hot ex who works with them as well and doesnt want to be with Toni but also doesnt want her with anyone else.
She finds herself quickly drawn to Ben and learns more about him in 5 days then she ever thought possible. She also finds out about herself as well.
I highly recommend this to anyone who likes PNR's. If you are looking for something with lots of steamy sex you won't find that in this book but as someone who honestly doesnt mind the steamy scenes Lola James keeps you interested and I didn't mind missing out.
I can't wait to read book 2 of the Spellbound series and also she has a new series coming out this March, the first book is called Fate's design. Watch for this Author, shes great.

If you are looking for something cute and fun to check out, Lola made a blog for the characters of her books and it is SUPER awesome!!

Check them out!

This was a good read. It held my attention from beginning to end. Even though there were parts of the book that reminded me of other books that I have read recently, it was still unique in its own way. Every time I thought I had it figured out and knew what was going to happen I would get thrown a curve ball and left wondering what was next.

I fell in love right off with the character Benjamin Slaton. The way the author describes him the first time he is introduced in the book, I was thinking he sounds hot. But as you read more about him you find out that he has way more than just his looks going for him.

The female lead in the book is Toni Hollander. She is one of those characters that you instantly fall in love with also. And as I read about her I started feeling like there was more to her than I was being told. Without giving away any spoilers to the book, the end was my favorite. It was one of those "Aha" endings and it left me wanting more. I can’t wait to find out what happens to them both. I will be looking for the next one for sure. So I was asked if I would recommend this book to my friends and I have to answer yes, I would. Author Lola James has given this story everything a good book should have.

It is so hard to rate this novel when I enjoyed the story so much until the end. The author is a very good writer, and I loved how the paranormal element was presented in a hospital setting. Toni is an emergency room doctor and she instantly falls for the new nurse Ben. She can't remember much of her childhood, and Ben has his own tragic past.

Ben is a vampire, and when Toni finds out he fears for her safety. The more Toni is taught about all the paranormal things she thought didn't exist, the more she seeks answers to explain this confusing mess. Witches and demons join the tale. I loved the fast-paced action. Once I started this story I couldn't put it down.

I found both Ben and Toni very likeable, relatable, and a good match for each other. The author's writing style is very casual and modern. It helped to bring the character's to life. So what is there not to like about this story? It has no ending. I realize this is the start of a series, but it isn't part of a serial, so I expected a HFN or HEA ending to this paranormal romance. Unfortunately, it ends on a very depressing cliffhanger. So be prepared to read more of this series or you will be frustrated at the end of Bound to Remember.

This is a very quick read with it's primary focus on vampires and witches. The main character, Toni, appears to be a human who is a doctor. She is paired early on with a new nurse in the ER and asked to teach him the ropes. Benjamin, also called Nurse Hero, is obviously interested in Toni and has an air of mystery surrounded him. However, he makes a mistake and asks Toni to stay the night at his house. If you have read anything about vampires, you will recognize him as a vampire pretty quickly, but it is neat to read how Tina reacts to the discovery.

After her discovery, you meet Toni's best friend from college, Annie. Annie is a witch and you will find out that her powers are quite extensive. I have a feeling she is going to play a pretty major role in books to come. She casts a spell on Benjamin to allow him to walk in the daylight. Yeah she's that kind of witch.

I have to say that I really enjoyed this book. It ends with a cliffhanger that will leave you wanting to get the sequel Unbound. The story line is far from complete in this book, but Lola James loves to leave you wanting more.

This is the first book I've read of Lola's. I really don't know how to feel about this book to be completely honest. I felt no connection to the characters because I felt they weren't quite developed enough and felt overall that the story was very elementary and amateur at times. It was choppy and the dialogue between the characters was lacking. I noticed a lot of run on sentences, and errors and with being an English major it bothered me which took away from me getting totally involved in the story. What I can say though is the storyline interested me because I wanted to know what the mystery was. I know some ppl complained about no ending but it was done so that you'll read the next book. I'm not sure if I'll invest in the series but think the author has lots of potential. I don't want to deter anyone from reading this book because the storyline is interesting but it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Bound to Remember by Lola James

Rating 4****

This book was provided from the author for honest literary review.

Toni is in the middle of Tue grueling days of ER rotation in medical school. The ones where you sacrifice any outside life in order to be a slave towards tour degree. In fact, nothing exciting ever happened to her until Ben walked in.
Instantly taken with the sexy male nurse, Toni realizes that Ben is harboring some deep, dark secrets.
In fact, several of the things around her are not as they seem. What will Ben's love cost her?

This book was really cute. As a nurse, I love books with setting around hospitals and medicine. I enjoyed the banter among the characters and the blend of demons, gods, witches AD vamps. The plot moves well and it is an entertaining read.
I do recommend this for others 17 + due to sexual situations and discussion. This is book one in the series so I am on th Unbound for my next dose of meds.

Bound to Remember
By Lola James

I have to admit I read her other series Fates Design and absolutely loved it.  I didn't know about this book till recently when I saw that book 2 is being released soon.  Lola definitely had me from the get go.  Only took 1 hour to read the whole book cause I couldn't put it down for any amount of money.  It had my two loves in life for books Vampires and Mythology.  I love both of these types of books and she was able to intricately do both in one book and have it be done seamlessly and not destroying any topic. I will say that the last page had me
screaming at Lola a lot.   Thankfully the second book in series comes out in a few days.  I hate not knowing what is going to happen.  I am looking forward to book 2 and I highly recommend you getting both books in this series and book 1 in Fates Design series.

The premise of the story was okay. That said there were a lot of grammatical errors and it was frustrating too read! I felt the overall story lacking I needed to know more about Toni's and Ben's pasts and more about Hades. The relationship between Ben and Toni went at warp speed- to me they needed to slow down. I did understand their connection, but I wanted more interaction between the two. I didn't like how she would black out that was frustrating I mean she already knew what Ben was there was no need for memory loss! I do see that probably most of what was left unanswered will be taken care of in the next books. I'm on the fence about continuing the series, though I do want to know what happens with Toni and Ben and what was up with Kevin. I did like the magical and mythological components of the story.
