Starts interesting. Thought that this might actually change my mind about this author's work. And in the beginning it almost had me convinced that it wasn't all that bad. Yeah.
But all these aspects of PsycheDiving went too absurd and totally over the top, eventually. This seems to be Lomonaaeren's personal signature in every book. Although, I have to admit, the plot(s) do(es) not lack imagination or uniqueness. That certainly isn't the problem here. For me, however, it's just too much. Too extreme. Too overdone. Too insane.
OMFG. I’m completely turned around, okay !!!!! It’s just CRAZY. I don’t want to spoil so I’ll be careful, but OMG.
It was so, so good. It had been a long time since I had read something as exceptional! I loved the story, Cassandre’s curse, the role of Draco, their plans, how everything went, the private jokes and... Everything. I love everything. Their relationship did me so much good. Because even if events turned into a disaster, from the beginning everything was desperate, they are sure. I don’t know how to say how badly the world is falling apart, but they can always rely on each other.
It’s a 'I can always count on you no matter what happens'. Their relationship has never hurt; it has always only done good, because they are always there for each other, there is no doubt about that. Their relationship developed little by little, and it was great. I am totally in love with Draco, possessive, jealous, and ready to burn the world for Harry. The way he cares about Harry, all those moments when it’s as if he was his oxygen.
This review may be a bit messy and frenetic (I'm sorry, English isn't my first language), but it’s one of the best things I’ve read in my life. The plot is incredible, honestly, it’s very interesting and incredibly well done. Everything is so well constructed, from start to finish, their relationship doesn’t happen all at once, it’s just... Perfect. I don’t say this lightly, but I assure you that it is totally perfect, because there is the perfect dose of anguish, suspense, drama and - let’s be honest, I have had several heart attacks. I’m not going to lie either, it’s really painful for Harry. After all he has lived through, his 'Happy End' is taken away from him; he doesn’t even have the right to be happy and at peace with his family after everything he has done for the wizard world. He beat Voldemort, and despite all that, something worse happens to him. It broke my heart, because I love Harry. But their love for each other, the affection he feels for each other is more powerful than anything else, and it’s magnificent. There were so many strong and significant moments between them. It warms my soul.
Very much looking forward to the sequel. I did enjoy this, but I found it a little difficult to follow. The idea is original, but I just found it hard to wrap my head around the functionings of the Cassandra Curse. Sometimes people just seem to hear mocking/sarcasm, and sometimes the words are completely different? I don't know, it was just hard to get fully on board with. Overall, still enjoyed it though and definitely worth continuing into the sequel.
I liked the idea of the story very much. Unfortunately I couldn't enjoy the story as much as I wanted, because the whole thing felt like one long prologue for the second part of the series. That's why I am looking forward to the second part.
Author always has the most fascinating ideas, but spends too much time monologuing in the characters heads. Basically nothing happens in this book. No real plot development, no world building beyond the initial concepts. Got boring to read because plot is predictable.
I really enjoyed this, but wanted more story! Far too short! I read this in like 1 day! I really wanted to see more of Draco's mind-diving and soul searching and stuff. I wanted to see more of how the Cassandra Curse worked on Harry. More about how St. Mungo's worked. I wanted more, and it is very lucky for me that I am 5 chapters into the sequel already.
