This is part of a series of creative nonfiction children's books, The Rainbow Series: Dogs Who Help. All books in this series are heavily illustrated with color photographs of real dogs helping people in various ways. Most books are creative nonfiction so there is a story being told while also imparting valuable information about how dogs can help us in our lives. In addition, most of the books contain subtle messages for children about how they can become better and contributing members of society. The books have appeal to children from birth through age 10 as even children who cannot read enjoy the photos and can often discern the story simply be following the photos.
