Jeremiah en Kurdy worden ingehuurd als lijfwachten door Craig, een
zeer invloedrijke heer om hem en zijn gezin tijdens een reis te
beschermen. De reis verloopt niet soepel, ze worden onderweg
aangevallen en weten slechts met verliezen de aanval af te slaan. Een
van de vaste begeleiders raakt ernstig verwond en noodgedwongen
moeten ze overnachten in een dorp waar de bewoners volgelingen zijn
van Inemokh, een duistere sekte...

About the author

Hermann was born in 1938 in Bévercé (now a part of Malmedy) in Liège Province. After studying to become a furniture maker and working as interior architect, Hermann made his debut as comic book artist in 1964 in the comics magazine Spirou with a four page story. Greg noticed his talent and offered him to work for his studio. In 1966, he began illustrating the Bernard Prince series written by Greg, published in the comic magazine Tintin periodical. In 1969, also in collaboration with Greg, he began the western series Comanche. This appeared at the same time as other western series such as Blueberry.
Hermann began writing his own stories in 1977, starting the post-apocalyptic Jeremiah series, which is still produced today. In the same period, he also made three albums of Nick, inspired by Little Nemo in Slumberland, for Spirou.[1] In 1983 he began a new series, Les Tours de Bois-Maury, which is set in the Middle Ages and is less focused on action than his other works.
Hermann has also created many non-series graphic novels sometimes together with his son Yves H. One of them, Lune de Guerre, with a story by Jean Van Hamme, was later filmed as The Wedding Party by Dominique Deruddere.[2]
Hermann is characterized by a realistic style and stories that are both somber and angry, with a sense of disillusion with regards to the human character in general, and current society more specifically.

Het verhaal is ietsje minder, maar het was leuk om het na al die jaren nog eens te herlezen.
Jeremiah en Kurdy begeleiden een zeer belangrijke persoon. Onderweg ontmoeten ze een paar jongeren die uitgezonden werden om mensen te bekeren, maar het zijn duidelijk geen getuigen van Jehova.

Muy buena novela grafica, esta vez Jeremiah y Kurdy trabajan con un militar contratado para escoltar a una familia acomodada de una ciudad a otra, pero en un dia que deciden descansar uno de los guardias decide ir a cazar y no regresa, por lo que tienen que seguir el viaje. Paralelamente un par de jovenes iniciados en una secta fanatica visitan a una familia de campesinos, mostrando que pasa con los no creyentes. El dibujo es muy bueno, las ilustraciones de Hermann son muy descriptivas y tienen un dejo de realidad que me asombra, sabe captar el momento.

Un des chevaux de bataille de Hermann, qui réapparaît souvent dans la série : le fanatisme religieux.

Un peu moins prenant que les précédents, l'histoire ne s'emballe qu'en toute fin, avec une scène oppressante dans la brume...

Klassiek Jeremiah. Veel sfeer, mooie tekenplaten, fascinerende setting. Verhaal stelt niks voor maar na zoveel jaar toch de moeite om nog eens te lezen.
