It has been seven months since Tobin Lloyd became the superhero known as “Strike,” and the city of Boston has never been safer. Yes, it turns out Tobin is pretty good at this superhero-stuff…even if he has to balance it with hanging out with friends, doing homework, and trying to graduate from high school.
However, a threat is looming that Tobin is unaware of: the red giant named Rigel—the last follower of the super-villain Vincent Harris—is still alive, and he is plotting to continue Vincent’s invasion and enslavement of the planet Earth. To do so, he is searching for a bizarre creature known as “The Daybreaker,” a super-villain so powerful that no one on Earth (or Capricious) will be able to stop it.
Will Tobin and his friends—Orion, Keplar, and Scatterbolt—discover Rigel’s plan before it is too late? Exactly who is this Daybreaker, and where did he come from? And even if the heroes succeed, will anything ever be the same again?
Featuring new characters, new locations, and new revelations, STRIKE: DAWN OF THE DAYBREAKER is the thrilling sequel to STRIKE: THE HERO FROM THE SKY.
Tobin Lloyd’s adventures are about to continue…whether he is ready for them or not.

Still on teetering on wether or not I am liking this series. Tobin leaves me feeling confused on if I like him or not, the only character I know I like is Keplar. Now he amuses me and I like his quirks. But as I have to know what happens, on to the next.
I received Strike: Dawn of the Daybreaker in return for a honest review from the author Charlie Wood. The book starts off seven months after the end of the first book. Tobin is busy with his job, school and being a hero. Tobin is still working with Orion, Keplar, and Scatterbolt to keep the earth safe, however they are also working with the police force now. Since Tobin has been working hard to keep the crime down in the city as well as keep the Capricious in line. He doesn't have a lot of time for his friends Jen and Chad. Since he hasn't been around a lot he learns that Jen has a date for prom as well as Chad so he's a little left out.
Tobin isn't the only one who's been busy; Rigel has healed from his injury's and is back trying to continue on in Vincent's work. Rigel’s using a red serum to turn criminals into monsters building a new army on earth. Rigel is searching for the Daybreaker a powerful being even more powerful then Vincent who is going to rule the world. It's during a battle with Rigel's minions that Tobin encounters Adrianna a young woman in her twenties dressed in purple who saves her life twice in one night. As fate would have it Rigel takes off with Scatterbolt in hopes of finding the location of the Daybreaker. Anticipating his actions Scatterbolt launches his data sphere at Tobin knowing that they will protect it and find him. Tobin needs to find Scatterbolt, stop Rigel, and find out whose come back from the dead.
Oh how I love these books. Never a dull moment, its action packed adventure that keeps you sucked in right from the start till the end. I really like Tobin as a character he's grown up so much since the first one started, plus his team is awesome, they each bring a something unique to the group. The story is well written flowing smoothly making it easy to lose track of time (I did). I loved all the twists and turns in the book that kept me guessing. In book two we get to explore new places meeting new creatures from Capricious, as well as some people from the past. Strike: Dawn of the Daybreaker is a great next chapter in Tobin's story; I can't wait to read the next chapter in the trilogy.
Wow! This is a really great read! It's fast paced, with twists and turns with every page! It just makes you want to read on and on!
It's very often the case with trilogies that the subsequent books are not as gripping as the first, but this is most definitely not the case with the Strike series!! I would even go as far as to say that this book was even better than the first! With the characters and setting already established, the story just flows perfectly!
This is a fun, yet thrilling read that really takes you out of this world and right into the world of Capricious! I can't wait for the third book! They just keep getting better and better!
I just loved this book, and would recommend it to anyone!
Let me start by saying I am not a big fantasy, adventure reader....but hot damn The Strike Trilogy is so much fun. I love the main character Tobin, so well developed, so likable. STRIKE: Dawn of the Daybreaker is full of great action, adventure, with superhero twist. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat. You keep turning the pages till you realize you are at the end of the book, looking for more. Take time and read this trilogy it is well worth the time.
I recieved this book from the author Charlie Wood....Once again you took me on a fantastic journey, Thank-you.
Something happens in this book that turns the series from a basic YA superhero tale into a compelling page-turner. The characters and plot suddenly took on much greater depth beyond the first book. At first reading I couldn't actually pinpoint the spot where it happened.
Tobin takes on his responsibility as Strike, and his life changes as a result. He learns to become a superhero and protect his city, as all good superheroes do.
The subplot develops over the entire course of the book and soon becomes the reason you will absolutely have to read the third book.
I received this book free from goodreads giveaway. This is the second book in this series which is quite enjoyable the books read like comics with superheros and villains. Strike is safe for all readers especially younger readers, the story will keep your attention and give you visuals in your mind with jungles , capes, lightening and teen adventures, trying to stay a normal teen while being a super hero saving the world. Very fun book.
I won this book in a goodreads giveaway. Similar to the first book in the Strike series, I found the book to be very fun and enjoyable. I picked it up right away after finishing the first book in the trilogy and I'm now searching to find the next one. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys superhero-esque books!
Another fun read for anyone into the whole superhero thing. Add in female drama, a new twist regarding the disappearance/death of his father, and some immensely powerful being that could rule the world....what's not to enjoy.
This one is amazing, the dawnbreaker happens to be another version of the hero strike, a twisted manipulated version, who is extremely more powerful and the addition of time travelling, that's just extremely great
