Oh my goodness...whew...all night I dreamt of Chase Blaine....Can I please have him for myself?
What a great premise for a story. I was hooked right from the beginning. Poor Angela, at the grocery store, a full cart of goodies, and every card is declined. Wow, I'd be pissed off if that happened to me. She heads home in a tizzy, gearing herself up to royally bitch out her husband Douglas when she's punched in the gut by the most beguiling eyes she's ever seen.
Chase thought Aria was "effing magnificent" from the first moment their eyes locked. He knew he'd have his perfect revenge.
Aria, a sympathetic character driven by her desire to help, let her husband get away with everything. He was cheating on her and had embezzled millions of dollars from his employer, Chase Blaine. She really is a lovable character. She's very quiet, reserved, works at a soup kitchen...well, she finds her voice eventually and decides what she wants. And she wants Chase.
"All she had been thinking about, against her will, was sleeping with him. She'd been tormented by the fantasies in her head. The ones where he stopped giving her choice and just took. All she could think about was effing him, no matter how hard she tried not to."
Chase wanted Aria because she made him feel. He stopped having feelings when he saw his mother die by his fathers hand when he was 6. He went through life just taking what he wanted. And if he couldn't just take it, he'd work until he got it. Never feeling, never acknowledging the fact that something was missing until Aria.
Through " I do's and no, I don'ts " the wishy-washy was the only thing that kinda turned me off, but I guess it's part of the story. The way Aria debates and finally decides to let Chase in.,,they have AMAZINGLY HOT sex...and hey, she's still married to Douglas...so, she does what every good girl who just slept with another man does, and runs...
I'm not a hard reviewer, if I like the story and the characters, if it kept me entertained or wanting more, or yeah, to jump my husband, it gets a good review. So, there is nothing better than an Alpha male that tells you exactly what he wants (unless you've already got one, then maybe you'd like someone a little more laid back-the grass is always greener you know) and Chase delivers. If there is a sequel I'll be all over it!
