From author Opal Carew comes the first sizzling segment in the erotic serial novel His to Command that explores one woman's surrender to desire at the hands of a dominant man.

Strong, independent, smart, Kate is a modern business woman who knows exactly how to run her well organized world. But underneath her professional exterior lurks a secret she's been running from for years...a secret desire to be dominated that both exhilarates her and terrifies her. When an old lover, Matt Pearce, unexpectedly shows up, Kate is bombarded by sensual memories of their affair. Matt was the first and only man to give her a taste of domination, and she's never been able to forget. But though she's spent years trying to forget him, this time she may not be able to get away.

I received 5 of the 6 books in this series.

Melanie used to be Rafe's secretary. He is a billionaire in the family business who is also a rock star on the side. The two meet up again in the tattoo parlor and go on their first date. Once Melanie and Rafe start seeing each other Melanie wants to experiment sexually with Rafe but he has a fear of going to far. Eventually Melanie losses her job and starts touring with Rafe's band but Rafe has decided not to go with them. Will his jealousy destroy them?

I did enjoy this read. I think it would be better as a novel and not 6 novelettes. The plot was written and executed really well. The author also has a flare with placement of events.

Because they are novelettes they seemed to stop short in areas that needed to be expanded upon. The characters needed a little more depth and excitement to them.

I really liked this start to the series. Opal Carew's writing is always great, and as usual the love scenes are excellent. This first part begins with fewer love scenes than her other books, but I think that is the nature of a serial novel. Instead Carew took more time to build up the suspense and relationship aspects. I'm assuming the sexual side is going to ramp up and I can't wait to see where she goes with this. Fifty Shades of Grey has nothing on Opal Carew books, so I'm really looking forward to the rest of this novel!

$2.00 for a 20 minutes of reading.... :/ No thanks but still a good book... it's just a little pricey, maybe add it to kindle unlimited?

This is uber short as it's the first in this series. I bought this first installment as a preview to see if would suck me enough to make me want to by the novel with all 6 parts. I'm hooked and will now be purchasing the full novel. ;)

Kate left NYC for Connecticut two years ago. Shortly before leaving NYC, she broke up with her uber sexy, rich, dominating boyfriend, Matt. The reason she left is unclear at this point, but she's trying to forget about him and get on with her life as she's getting her new business up and running. But her world tilts when she sees Matt at the mall one day. She's looking for an investor for her company so she can buy out her partner instead of dissolving the whole business. As expected, the mystery investor who contacts her turns out to be Matt.

I can't WAIT to see how this goes... ;)

This is not my first novella and I knew a little about the story. But Kate was not like I expected. She’s strong and successful, but still afraid of a dominant relationship. I don’t think she fully understands why she left Matt and if her reasons were nothing more than just fear. We can see a few shots from their past together and I think Kate needed a little explaining and to came to terms with her wants and needs.

This first novella didn’t explain much, but we can see Kate was in love and the relationship made her afraid, so she ran away, but now Matt is trying to find her and he’s rich so that made things a little easier for him.

Intriguing start to a new series. We don't find out much about the characters apart from the fact that Kate broke up with Matt two years ago and now after thinking she saw Matt at a cafe she was driving past, he runs into her in the mall. She seems panicked by his appearance but when she is alone, she seems to remember how good they were together. Its a bit confusing as a reader, hoping book 2 will explain more.

Hm. Nope.
Read part 1 through 3 last night, but won't continue with the rest. It's just not very good! The chemistry isn't convincing at all, and the main characters are pathetic. This "dominant" man lets the woman he loves leave him without an explanation? Oh, how impressive and strong that love must be.

OK, So first of all I Love the cover ,,, and I'm not too proud to admit it is the first thing that attracted me to this book ... But it certainly isn't the only thing that kept me going!

This actually is a very promising start for the series ,,, I admit I'm hooked!

His to Claim is a composition of six short erotic stories that make up this novel. Apparently I missed the other series because there were so unexplained issues with Jessica and Rafe…I guess another series? Anyway, I immediately fell in love with this series. With sexy, steamy characters and the perfect chemistry in addition to a rock star plot makes for the perfect book!

Interesting start to a serial. Well written in my mind. It had an intriguing plot line; so unlike most serials that have the character jumping into bed so fast it almost makes your head spin. I already bought the next one to read.

If you are going to read this make sure you have all 6 Ebooks ready to read one after the other. This Installment had me skipping pages as I found it repetitive however it did intrigue me enough to read the others. Really fast and sexy read only 54 pages.

Didn't realize it was a "short story", part of a series...Interested in seeing how it turns out but don't want to pay for each segment separately.
