Will her all-night writing session ruin Jessica and Martin's visit or, worse, Diane's health? Meanwhile, Shelley is dismayed when goodies begin reaching customers in terrible shape and Dan seems increasingly miserable in his new job. Can she find the wisdom to help both of them over their hurdles? Margaret is stunned to find her prize-winning painting missing from her gallery. Can she track down the culprit and the artwork? And when Beverly gets an offer to buy her Augusta house, she learns that saying good-bye to the past is harder than she anticipated. Can closing on her old home help open her heart to a future with Jeff? An obscure cipher points the friends back to Old First Church, and they gather once more at the hidden bell tower. the sudden peel of bells sends the women to safety before disaster strikes -- but not before they discover something that could be the key to Jeremiah Thorpe's treasure.

Camy Tang

Camy writes Christian romantic suspense, contemporary romance, and cozy mystery as Camy Tang and Regency romance under her pen name, Camille Elliot. She grew up in Hawaii but now lives in northern California with her engineer husband and rambunctious dog. She graduated from Stanford University in psychology with a focus on biology, but for nine years she worked as a biologist researcher. Then God guided her path in a completely different direction and now she’s writing full time, using her original psychology degree as she creates the characters in her novels. In her free time, she’s a staff worker for her church youth group and leads one of her church’s Sunday worship teams. She also loves to knit, spin wool into yarn, and is training to (very slowly) run a marathon.

These books really would be better read in order but since I am getting them through interlibrary loan, I end up skipping around. This is book 13 and Diane is still trying to write her second book, she has herself overbooked with things, forgets to eat and ends up in the hospital. Her daughter is visiting and she gets to meet the new boyfriend. Shelley is upset when some of her mail order. Margaret is upset when her prize winning painting is stolen, the friends try to find who stole it. They also finally figure out the code to the letters they found and they convince the minister to let them up in the old bell tower. Beverly finally gets her house sold and wonders if she is ready to leave the past behind.

Once again Diane, Shelley, Margaret, and Diane are all working together to find the mystery of First Church Marble Cove, Maine, while at the same time each coping with problems of their own and helping each other out. At the same time, they are still seeing occasional lights from the closed lighthouse and trying to determine what is causing the lights. Easy cozy mystery read for a lazy afternoon from the Guideposts series, Miracles of Marble Cove.

These books can be read out of order, but make more sense if read in order.

Very good read.
Margaret's award winning painting is gone! Adelaide is not happy with going to the community center. Beverly decides to sell her house and has many mixed feelings about the house and about Jeff.
All four women are trying to decipher the mysterious message they find from Old First founding minister.
Shelley is trying to solve how to send her goodies in the mail and have them arrive in good condition.
Diane tries to help all her friends and spreads herself too thin.

I've read almost the entire series, passed on by a neighbor when she finished them. I love the omniscient narrator, which helps me better understand what's happening. I love the friendships and the personal growth among the four main characters. And almost every volume I find something else to prove that no one on the editing and publishing teams has ever been to Maine! Going to the symphony in Augusta (the Convention Center gets rock bands and hypnotists) ... pelicans flying along the shore (a couple hundred miles south maybe) ... blueberries "at their best" in early July (the harvest starts at the beginning of August). But if you don't live here, you won't notice. And even if you notice, you'll still enjoy.

Four separate mystery/problems woven in one story. How intriguing. Well done. I was on the edge of my seat, wanting to know who stole the painting.

The description of "Sea Breeze", the missing painting, was so inviting, I really wanted to see it. So I wonder if Tang based this portion of the story on a real painting. Would love to see it, Camy!

Also, loved the research and outcome of the cipher. It was so interesting!! Now I can't wait to see what the key opens.

Kudos.

Pressing On is the thirteenth book in the Miracles of Marble Cove series. It is a great addition to the series and is filled with kudos and crises that affect the lives of the characters I’ve come to think of as friends. I love the way these women love and support each other.

This series is really good. I find alot of sentences that I can relate to. Throughout this series, the one character I relate to the most is Shelley, a young mom.
