Paradox #4

Equilibrium

Rate this book
For years, the truth has been concealed from Grace, masked cleverly by coercion, denial and fanciful stories. She'd always felt that there was a part of her that didn't resonate with this world, as if she were a square block in a round hole. When her father died, it was her mother's unconditional love, Wade's fatherly presence, and Angela, Grace's quirky neighbor that gave her strength. United, they were her beacon, the lighthouse that guided her in from the storm. That was until she learned the truth … And the truth, Grace discovered, regardless of what she'd been told, does not always set you free.

Make no mistake, the Grigori is the Original Vampire, and regardless of what you believe, they are here, walking among us, and they intent to stay.

Well first off I have to say it's good to be back, I know I haven't written here for quite some time and I am very glad to be getting back to what I love the most, reading and telling all of you of the wonderful books I have read and I'm so excited to get started with book 4 of this amazing series I have been telling you about since I first started my blog. As most of you know when I started my blog Patti Roberts was one of the very first authors that gave me her first book Paradox - The Angels Are Here as an ARC for a review. It was at that moment I fell in love with it and have been beating down Patti's virtual door for the past 3 years now for each new installment of the series, I'm sure she's just about had enough of me bugging her lol, but, if she didn't write some of the most awesome books I wouldn't keep bugging her asking her "are ya done yet'? "are ya done yet:? "Seriously, no pressure but when are you going to be done with the next book"? And as punishment she sends me a chapter lol, and cliffhangers, oh how she leaves me with jaw on the floor cliffhangers.

Each new book brings this story together just a bit more than the last book did and answers questions you have at the end of each previous book, I really like how Patti does that. Some authors have a great start to a series and end on a great cliffhanger but when the second book comes out it does not pick up where it left off and leaves you confused until half way through and by that time it's just lost me and I give up reading it. Patti has you hanging on the edge of your seat when you leave and still has you hanging on when you start the next book, it's like a great T.V. series and the season ending has just closed with a jaw dropper and you can't wait until the new season begins.

We start off action packed and raring to go, Grace is now older and getting smarter to her legacy and abilities. All characters return which I was so happy to see, but even more happy to see Patti is now having them share their stories as to who they really are and how and why they are important to Grace and where and how they fit into her life. Wade *drooling* (my hubby) is hotter and stronger than ever. Kate (Katherine) just plain cracked me up, you will see why when you read the book, I can't say much more or I'll give out spoilers. Patti's growth astounds me with each book I read from her, the shear talent she has for building such a unique world, from the Grigori to the Bakhna Rakhna people to the Atnangkers. The detail is incredible, so much detail Patti gives us, but not so much that you get overwhelmed and want to put the book away. It lets your imagination see and feel what she is describing to you.

I don't usually rate but I have to give this one 5 purple stars as it is in my opinion the best one so far of this awesome series. It a ride from page one all the way to the very end with a cliffhanger that I absolutely did not see coming, Patti's book are very unpredictable and I love that in a great book. The story flows seamlessly, the characters you will fall in love with, the good ones and the bad ones, twists and turns that keep you turning the page and impossible to put the book down until your done, heart pounding moments that will having you gasping, moments that will tear you up, make you laugh out loud, and just sit and read while smiling. I hope you all will go get your copy and start reading this amazing book, enjoy everyone I know I sure did!!!

The Paradox saga continues with an impressive twist in the tale. Dark forces are at play and there’s no respite for the guardians and protectors. Grace takes a few more steps towards learning about her legacy, but her impetuousness lands her in the path of danger yet again.

I have been watching out for new releases in this series and I can honestly say this is the best episode so far. Absolutely love the world in which the action takes place, the richness and diversity of characters, the beautiful descriptions and the depth of emotion. Not for the first time, I found myself moved to tears reading scenes written by this amazing author.

I can see how easy it would be to transfer these books into a YA serial for television, and I’m not ashamed to say I would watch it, too, though I’m far out of the age range. Marvel’s Superheroes comes to mind, only on a much wider background, and with a breadth of characters far easier to stage-manage and adjust. The possibilities are endless – so much potential for entertainment! And with a classic battle between good and evil – some overt, some discreet or merely hinted at – this is a winning format that simply can’t go wrong.

Keep it going, Patti Roberts! Five shiny stars!

Patti Roberts has an ability to transport you to a time and place and you lose yourself there. This installment of the Paradox Series, in my opinion, is the best one yet.
The Dark forces that took over Altair are making there moves on Earth. And more of the characters seem to have more importance than before. (Trust when I say I'm trying to review without being a spoiler).

Paradox - Equilibrium is fast paced and highly charged. All characters are well thought out, believable and crucial to the story. Not only will you find yourself engrossed into the story but at times holding you breath while waiting for the next shoe to drop. The story seamlessly weaves itself between all the different characters but also between different times/places. This is not one of those books that you can breeze through. Pay attention because every detail is important, however that being said, that DOES NOT mean it is boring or overly descriptive.... just that details are important.

I can't wait for Book #5 in the series.... Until then I will re-read her Witchwood Estate series again and then probably re-read the Paradox series ... again. What can I say I LOVE THE WAY THIS AUTHOR WRITES!!!!

I enjoyed this book very much. It's fast-paced and full of action.

One of the things I particularly enjoy about this author's work is its the visual quality; Roberts is brilliant at descriptive writing, you can see the colours, smell the smells. This series is well designed with a rich background. A less meticulous writer could have written the story without bothering to create in detail the beautiful, civilised Bakhna Rakhna people, the mysterious Atnangkers, and so on - but every corner is filled with exquisite detail in Roberts' work.
The other thing I really love about Roberts is her villians. She has a wonderfully light touch with them. You see the depths of evil, but you see it with a smile - there's always a leavening fillip of humour to offset the dark.

The only criticism I have of this fourth book is that it stops rather than ending - in my opinion a novel ought to stand alone as a completely self-contained thing. However, readers of today's series will be well accustomed to the series as serial, so I doubt if this will be a problem for most readers.

Patti Roberts

We will start of with 5 hearts out of 5
I was given this book as an arc for an honest review , so let's begin
This book has been worth the wait and I little clue I think the best so far ( shh wink )
There are questions answered that we're left hanging there that piece everything tightly together
There are roller coaster moments and a few omg in there
The best is the cliffhanger even though I hate these this I didn't see coming so that makes it one I love .
I hate books I can see myself where it's going I love unexpected turns
Patti hurry up and write the next please I can't wait 6 months a year for book 5

I was given an ARC of this book in return for an honest review. HONESTLY I think this is the best book so far of the whole series!!! Everything is coming together and making a lot of sense, yet the cliff hanger at the end, WOW, I never saw that coming. I don't know if I can survive a year for the next installment of the book. Oh to be able to get into the mind of Patti Roberts so I can know what happens next. I couldn't put the book down once I started reading it, so I recommend you get ready for an epic read if/when you buy the book.

Wow!!

Every book gets better and better in this series!! Patti Robert's amazing storytelling is only outdone by her outstanding writing; her flawless way with descriptions of everything from the ever changing world, or worlds, around her characters, the actual characters themselves and her attention to the details that matter, make for some of the most enjoyable reading I've encountered in a long time!! I literally cannot wait for what is coming from her next in this series, which I must admit, just became on of my favorites!! Well done!!

Backstory As The Truth Comes To Light

This series must be read in order. The first book is Paradox - The Angels Are Here. The second book is Paradox - Progeny Of Innocence (bk2) (The Paradox Series). The third book is Paradox - Bound By Blood. This is the fourth book.

This book is still about Grace though you don't always realize it. As she learns the real truth of the worlds and her existence the other characters provide interesting and much needed back story that truly immerses you in their world. I really enjoyed learning how all the pieces fit together and why the tragic events of the past were nessecary for the future to unfold. It was an awesome read and I really don't want to give too much away so I will just say I cannot wait to read the next book when it comes out!

***This series is suitable for adult readers only

Oh man, now that's a great story to get lost in.. Once I started I couldn't put it down, Patti Roberts has indeed stepped it up in this instalment of the paradox series!
A fantastic adventure that is wonderfully detailed and full of action with twists that you don't see coming!
I always love the details in Ms Roberts' books and Equilibrium surpassed my expectations.
As a reader I found myself transported into the Paradox world, its so easy to do with Ms Roberts' amazing ability to write a fast paced beautifully detailed captivating story.

I would recommend if you haven't read the Paradox series that you start with book 1 The Angels are Here.. And enjoy this EPIC adventure from the beginning.

This has been a riveting series so far and in this one we are getting to know some more about the other characters in Grace’s life as her story takes a back seat now and then. This is not a criticism as the other people in Grace’s life have back stories that would fill a whole other series, and they add plenty of action. Grace herself finally knows the truth and what it took to keep that truth from her. Angela was her deadpan amusing self when she showed her friend how she had created a home next door, even picking some suitable parents from a catalogue. The book ends on no less than two cliff-hangers and I just have to find out what happens next. As usual, Patti puts her readers on the edge of their seats and leaves them dangling there, desperate for the next instalment.

Captivating

Captivating

I wizzed through this series and its not finished. There is to be a book 5 ( or 6,7,8).
I enjoyed each character, but pay close attention because the author does a turn about at times. You could be reading about Grace then next scene your in a hospital with all her friends listening to the story about the Grigorian war. The author does know how to keep you captivate. I look forwarded to seeing the next book.
