Ivy and the Cop

Rate this book
Ivy’s car has broken down in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere on the way back from a summer babysitting job, her cell phone neglectfully uncharged, and she’s never been so grateful to see flashing lights in her rearview mirror. The familiar, rugged, gorgeous cop who comes to her rescue is sympathetic, inviting Ivy into the front seat of his cruiser where he intends to call for a tow-truck. But before he can get that far, their incessant flirting leads to Ivy’s confession that she has a secret fantasy about cops, and officer Paxton declares himself off-duty—so he can play out Ivy’s fantasy with her over the hood of the police cruiser. But there’s more danger lurking than just being stranded by the side of the road, and Ivy finds herself in a quandary even her rescuer may not be able to save her from.

Second chances are often about seeing the person properly for the first time.

Loved that this was a second chance romance! I'm a huge fan of giving someone another shot at love, especially when it's young love that falters because of decisions made as young people.

Ivy is a college-aged young woman who lands herself stranded because she isn't exactly the best at planning ahead for "just in case of emergency" events. Her car breaks down while her cell is dead thanks to texting a girlfriend all night and she has no way to get help except to start walking. Lucky for her Patrick -a cop and her former flame- shows up to save the day at exactly the right moment!

Patrick spoke volumes to me because he's a simple man. He's a good guy who wants to be a good guy. Being a cop has been a part of who he is for as long as he can remember and Ivy has to come to accept that it's a part of him rather than a job he's chosen to pursue for them to be together.

There's a lot of passion, a few laughs, and a lot of love along the way in this one. It had a very young-romance feel to it which thrilled me. It was an all around great read filled with situations I could relate to, characters easy to love, and enough heat to make the pages sizzle without being simply a tawdry romp. Five stars from me!

That was pretty good - Patrick could have been a little more forward, but Ivy needed to figure things out herself!
This was a quick read, and it starts off just as you'd expect, on the side of the road, with a broken down car, and beautiful young lady and hot, young cop. Now what the blurb doesn't tell you is these two have a history, they were high school sweethearts. After our hot encounter, there is more story - yeah, I appreciated that part, some connection between the characters is always nice. Now our two roadside lovers need to figure out if they have a future or not, he is game but she still holds the same concerns she had when they broke up. Life throws a curve and she finally has to make up her mind, and that is the sweet that goes with the hot in the story!

This is a great book about more than the fantasy with the cop. This is about Ivy and Patrick, they are high school sweethearts who are broken up because of Ivy's fear of loosing Patrick to his job. Ivy comes home for the summer from college and has her car breakdown who should come to her rescue but the man she is trying to avoid her old high school boyfriend Patrick. Patrick is still in love with Ivy and does not understand why they can't be together he wants her just as much as when they were still together but with the threat of a escaped convict and a woman who pushes him at ever turn Patrick isn't sure what to do. This is a great story about love and finding your way back home, as well as some smokin scenes with some handcuffs. I would recommend it.

Awww, this was sweet! And of course sexy. It's Selena Kitt... it's going to be sexy. But this one seemed to be more story than sexy, which is good for me. Ivy and Patrick dated in high school. She's away at college now, and he's a cop in their hometown. She breaks down on the side of the road, and thankfully he finds her and they get reacquainted. But then we find that Ivy won't keep dating Patrick because of his dangerous job. Ultimately, she realizes that not experiencing Patrick at all would be worse than having him and potentially losing him because of his job. Sweet story.

With a broken down car and no battery in the phone, Ivy finds herself forced to accept help from the cop who came by. That he´s her old love, and that she´s still having feelings for him, makes for a hot moment in his car. Can she resist the feelings stirring for him?
Quick read, a cop with his cuffs *rawr* and smutty fluff.
