Rate this book
After the tragedy of losing one of their own shortly after arriving in this new world the remaining adventurers begin to create a new life in a new world filled with elves and trolls. Suddenly the last surviving Elf Wizard vanishes in a violent storm leaving an entire battalion of Elf Warriors dead. Having recently completed her apprenticeship Sorceress Sarah Sims and her companions Jack, a skilled swordsman and his wife Nicole one of the last remaining Woodland Elves now face a mysterious magical foe of great power.

Risking everything to save Sarah from the elven council’s decision to execute her for treason, the elf Prince Cabal secretly sneaks the adventurers off in search of the menacing storm cloud responsible for the wizards disappearance. Sarah quickly discovers carelessness from their past has poisoned the land and caused the Trolls to emerge from their lair.

After Sarah exerts too much magic battling the changeling, her friends have no choice but to trust the trolls. These same trolls who took Todd Hopper off in the darkness less than a year ago under the same pretext and he never returned. Cabal, Jack and Nicole allow the trolls to lead them deep inside the mountain so Sarah can recover in the safety of the troll cavern. What they find there shakes all of them to their very core and changes Sarah’s life forever as they head into a battle that pits friend against friend.

Kimbra Dellamano writes the kind of stories you curl up with—heart‑tugging, imaginative, and full of characters you want to hug (or occasionally yell at). From romantic suspense in the Utah mountains to magical forests filled with sprites and giants, her books blend emotion, adventure, and charm in a way that feels unmistakably “Kimbra.” When she’s not writing, she’s dreaming up new worlds, creating coloring books, or enjoying life on her little patch of Illinois countryside. Her mission is simple: tell stories that make people feel something real.

Good

I am enjoying this series. The characters are entertaining, and the story is interesting. There is adventure, romance, and magic...what else do you need?
