Michael Gerrick was beginning to wonder if he would ever find his truemate. Fate seemed to smile on him, when he fell hard for the delectable fitness instructor, Shyne. The only problem: three were-hyenas want her for their clan and are willing to do anything to get him out of the way.
Shyne Jackson was smitten with Michael from the moment they met. Swept up by his devastating good looks and sense of humor, she's unaware of the plotting of her were-hyena bosses behind the scenes as they attempt to keep her and Michael apart. When they cross the line, will a showdown of fur and claws destroy everything she holds dear?
This book is for mature readers only and contains a wolf looking for his mate, a woman with a dark past, neck biting, plenty of teasing, wisecracks galore, and creative use of a pool table.
Michael was starting to feel as if he would never find his truemate. As he watched his brother and other packmates find bliss with their mates, Michael resigned himself to a miserable half-life without his. When he meets Shyne at the County Fair, he knows she's his truemate. However, Shyne's were-hyena bosses want her for themselves and are willing to do anything to make her their mate - including kidnapping Michael to get him out of the way. When Michael must fight for his honor and Shyne's freedom, he finds out that Shyne will fight just as hard to keep the man she loves.
FABULOUS. That's right, I said it. I came into this series here, at Book 4, and did not want for anything. It is a rare thing to step into a series that is well underway and not be lost without the back story. R.E. Butler has a way of describing just enough of past events for the reader to understand the reference but not detract from the story or make you feel as if you missed something.
And, oh, the story! This wasn't the boy-meets-girl, boy-fights-for-girl, boy-gets-girl story of ye olde romance novels. The characters are so real, I want to move to Allen, Kentucky, and get to know them more. I was as proud of Shyne's accomplishments as everyone else, and I was embarrassed for Michael when he was at the zoo. (Sorry, I don't do spoilers. You'll have to read it to find out why Michael was so embarrassed.)
However, I will warn you: the sexual tension throughout this book is maddening. Michael is a man of amazing character and, I must say, willpower. When Michael finally takes Shyne as his mate (and you knew he would), it is well worth the wait.
Of course, anyone who knows me knows that I am a series junkie. So, once I finished this book, I had to go and purchase the first three to read all the details about the rest of the Tressel Pack. I think I'll wait to post those reviews as teasers for when she writes Book 5 . . . which I hope is soon!
This has quickly become one of my favorite series and I can't wait for the next book!! (Bo's book is next~Woo-Hoo!! lol ) I am also so excited that Dante, Cairo and Mason are getting their own book in another series~AWESOME!!
Another great addition to the series. I LOVED Michael & Shyne and was so glad that he finally found his mate!! They were so cute and funny together. I really enjoyed their story. The return of my favorite characters in addition to some new favorites has me anxiously waiting for the next book!!
I am still mad a Jason (lol) but I still liked reading about him and Cadence. I was hoping that Cadence would confront him about Callie but she didn't. UGH!! lol
Michael & Shyne was another entertaining read that I really enjoyed. Their story was so sweet that I was immediately sucked in and couldn't wait for them to get their HEA. There were nail~biting moments in this one also, but mostly it was filled with laughter, love and family. Oh...and some very HOT sexing on a pool table!!! ;) All my favorite things wrapped up in a great ending!! So good!! :)
So far, Linus & The Angel is still my favorite of the series. I am so glad that the series is continuing because I am not ready to leave them all behind yet!! So as I add this to my keeper pile, I'm counting down the days to Bo's book!! 4 out of 5 rating!
***All copies provided by R.E. Butler~~Thank you so much!! It was my pleasure to read such an entertaining series and I look forward to more!! :)
This story is my favorite in this series so far! While was reading about the three brothers I was thinking they could be a great series! So imagine how happy I was to see a series about these weres? I have been looking forward to reading Michael's story from the first book! Wow, I felt it was better than I thought it was going to be. Michael is such a great and caring wolf. He's always been respectful, caring, and a joker. The heroine, Shyne, is a perfect fit. Even though she is human she is strong. I found her to be a great match to and a great addition to the pack. But as with the books in this series nothing comes easy for these wolves. But what a fun twist to this story! As much as I'd like to say, I'm not spoiling it for you. You'll have to get the book and read it to find out. I give this book 4.5 stars
Wolf shifter Michael (second of his pack) meets human Shyne who he knows when he first sees her that she is his mate. But how do you tell someone you just met ... I'm a werewolf... You are my mate... I want you now and forever...and I want to bite you so you carry my mark and others know to not touch you, all that will go over just great. Oh, of course telling her that her three bosses want to share her as their mate. Now her bosses are trying to turn her against wolves and toward sharing her self with all three brothers who she thought of as friends. After everything is finally worked out Shyne will find she finally has family and friends that loves and trusts her. Really good story.
Michael has been feeling lonely for awhile. Since his brother Jason finally claimed his mate and Linus the 4th in the pack hierarchy found his angel mate, Michael has wanted to find his mate and settle down.
Shine is working as a fitness instructor at a gym owed by 3 hyena brothers. She goes to the fair to help sign up new clients for the gym and meets Michael. Sparks fly! But Why he's employers have plans that include her.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - I LOVE THIS AUTHOR!! Michael and Shyne are pure gold together! Michael is the strong, silent type with a fierce protective streak, and Shyne is an absolute queen with a past that only makes her shine brighter. Their love story is full of tension, laugh-out-loud moments, and a dash of danger from some very annoying hyenas. The banter? A+. The pool table scene? Legendary. This book feels like that perfect mix of cozy comfort and spicy thrills.
Though I've read book 1 and 2 of this series, skipping 3, it was Michael's character that I loved and really wanted to read his story. I wasn't disappointed to say the least especially since his mate was part Hispanic. All in all it was a great story and can't wait to read the other books in the series.
Shyne is a newly graduated fitness instructor working for three hyena brothers. Michael is a wolf shifter, 2nd in command for his pack, bar manager and mechanic. Michael senses Shyne is his mate and joins the gym where she gives classes. The hyenas are going after Michael before he can stake a claim. Is Shyne going to be their chew toy or worse?
I’m thoroughly enjoying this book and series. Each book is a continuation of the previous books but still a different storyline and each book deals with a new couple. Looking forward to reading the next book
I am been rough with R.E. Butler in the previous books of this series, but I must say I love this story! Michael and Shyne are both very sweet and I really liked what she did when he fought (no spoilers here! Lol).
He almost gave up waiting when she came along, his perfect mate. And even though she's human, he's willing to fight for her as she's his perfect match. He's giving her more than just himself, he's giving her the family she never had.
I was excited to read Michael's story but I thought this story was another bust. Michael is second in command and is jealous of everyone around him finding mates. It is during a Fair that he sees Shyne. Immediately he knows she is his mate. However, Shyne is already friends with three were-hyenas who are also vying for her attention. Michael soon has to fight for what's his. We first read about Michael and his funny charm in the first book but we don't really get to see his funny personality at all in his own book. He didn't act like the goofball of the group like everyone said he was. It would have been nice to see his character act the same as it did in the first books. I also thought the idea of were-hyenas was overkill. I mean, first the author has were-wolves (the norm), then were-lions, then were-bears, then finally were-hyenas? Is there anything that the author won't make a were? I don't know I just never heard of a were hyena before. With the were-hyenas there wasn't enough action with them. In the first two books, there was angst and action until the end. In this book, and the third book, all the action seemed to be in the middle of the story and then it just died out. I thought that compared to the first two villains, that these were-hyenas gave up fairly quick. I mean if they really wanted Shyne, why didn't they try to find another way to make her theirs so Michael could really take them out? I think that after the fight the whole story became slow and fizzled out. I felt like Michael's story was repetitive, I mean all the books of the series seem to be the same. First they find a mate, then they have characters that oppose them, then the main characters get rid of their competition, then the main characters have internal struggles with their mates, and then they live happily ever after. Just one word...REPETITIVE! I don't feel like anyone should read the books one after the other. Maybe that is why I felt that this series was so repetitive and getting to be boring. Highly disappointed in how this series is turning out.
I loved this story. Hunky, protective wolves. Gorgeous, sweet human fitness instructor. Romance. Sex. And truemates.
Shyne gets her fitness training certificate and works for three hyena brother's gym. While working the county fair, she meets Michael, a wolf shifter. The brothers tell her all sorts of tales about wolves. They want her for themselves but she is not into ménages.
Michael is a wolf shifter, helping to run the packs bar, and owns a garage. As soon as he gets a whiff of Shyne, he knows he's meet his mate. He goes slow and romances her. But when the hyenas go too far, he must fight one for Shyne.
This is a very sweet, sexy story. It made me not like the hyena brothers and I believe there is a book for them. And I've read it and liked it. Ha!

I couldn’t wait for Michael’s book. He is the character out of the group and makes the read fall in love with him. I wanted his book immediately after reading Cades & Jason’s book. I couldn’t wait. I was not disappointed. Michael got his just rewards in waiting so long for a mate.
Shyne, a human is aware of weres. She works for three big hulking werehyenas, so of course she is. Here lately she’s been noticing that they have been paying special attention to her. She really wishes they would leave her alone, especially after meeting Michael.
Michael is hurting to find his mate. He sees his brother and sister-in-law and the other newly mated couples and hurts even more. Once he sees Shyne, he knows it was definitely worth the pain and waiting. Now he just needs to take his time and not scare her off, she’s human after all.
I really liked that this book came back to what I wanted out of the series. After Callie’s book, I almost didn’t read any more, but I really wanted to hear his story. It’s not that I didn’t like Callie’s book, I did, a lot, but Cades pissed me off. I didn’t know if I would be able to read about her any more without wanting to punch her. I’m glad I went ahead and read Michael’s book anyway. All that is forgiven and forgotten in my book.
Ms. Butler continues to build on this world that has me so infatuated. I really wish I could go meet me a wolf!
Let me begin by saying I really enjoyed this book. Engaging relatable characters and a great plotline. However, for a sexy book there was a surprising lack of steam. They didn't get hot and heavy until 70% into the book. And then it was delicious but only a few scenes spread out.
Michael is a really nice guy who was trying to woo his human mate and get her used to him and his wolf. He was actually very sweet through the whole process even though you could tell he just wanted to throw her down and mark her whole doing wicked things to her body.
Shyne is the kind of independent gal I love to read. She is confident in herself but not closed of to finding love and an equal partner. And she is perfectly sassy!
I liked the whole story but there were several parts where it dragged. It was especially slow after the major conflict was resolved. That was also anticlimactic. I just hoped for a little more.
But in the end I really liked the book and it is a nice addition to the series. I hope we see more action in future books.
Michael was beginning to wonder if he would ever find his truemate? Watching others in his pack find their truemates made every day just a little bit harder. Going to the fair he finds his true mate Shyne a fitness instructor for a Club owned by 3 were hyenas who want Shyne as their own mate. Shyne is totally enamored by Michael and wants to see were this will lead. The 3 were hyenas tho will do everything they can to get Shyne as their own. It is Were vrs Were in this love match who will get the girl???
Guess you will have to read to find out how this drama show ends! I really enjoyed the hyenas and the wolves via for Shyne. Just enough drama and great characters to really make this a fun read.

Everyone around him was finding their mates(its enough to drive a single wolf crazy). Michael doesn't want just any woman, he wants a true mate. Someone to spend the rest of his life with and have children with. Just when he is about to give up he runs across Shyne. Shyne just got the job of her dreams, teaching fitness at the local gym. She loves her bosses but lately they've been creeping her out a bit (her bosses are were hyenas and they want her as a mate). Then she meets michael. She feels safe, warm and loved by him. The only thing that stands in their way is Shyne's bosses. Michael is going to have to show them that when it come to his mate, he is not the wolf they want to mess with.
This book felt like a patchwork to me. The author, at least in this series, tends to make large jumps in time in the space of a paragraph. There were times that I would be a couple sentences into a paragraph before I realized that days or weeks had passed since the last paragraph or chapter.
Unlike the other books thus far in this series, this book did not feel like it really belonged to the main characters. There was too much back story from other books and large chunks of chapters that had nothing to do directly with the main couple. This could have been done much better and I do hope the next book improves.
One thing I really like about this series is that the heroines are not all cookie cutters of each other. They each have their strengths and weaknesses and unique personalities. Shyne is a strong woman from a broken past who worked hard for all she accomplished. I think one of the things I like best about her is her relationship to her best friend. I hope we will be seeing more of him in the future. While in many ways, Michael is very immature, he also takes all of his responsibility to his pack seriously making him a fun character to read. I enjoyed watching them come together and learning a bit about the Hyena shifters.
Michael acted the lovable goofball in previous books but I didn’t find that coming across in this book. Though I can understand Shyne and Michael being drawn to each other due to being mates, I was really upset at how Shyne treated her bosses, Dante, Cairo, and Mason. Yes they tried to deter Michael and send him away but they weren’t mean to her. All she had to do was be honest with them. They were just trying to see if she was their mate but she was horribly mean to them at the end. So glad I know they get their HEA in their own series. I have read and reviewed these books previously but reviews admitted from the back of books seem to be missing.
Ok so first off, I'm a die hard R.E. Butler fan. I waited & waited for this book & it was worth the wait. Michael ha an amazing sense I humor & such a sweetness about him but he is also an amazingly strong Beta. I think I lived this Motorcycle riding wolf before I even cracked this book! Shyne, definitely a kindred spirit to me! She I so like me that she was totally easy I love (teehee). I'm a certified group exercise instructor as well and could identify w/ her. The Stone Brothers definitely the guys you love to hate! God, they made ME nervous. A great book! Couldn't put it down!
