Shinobu Ohtaka (大高 忍, born May 9, 1983 Tokyo, Japan) is a Japanese manga artist. She is best known for the creation of the manga series Sumomomo Momomo and more recently, Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic.
World: The art is okay, I am seeing a lot more the weird character art but oh well. The world building is really strong this time around with the Kou Empire getting some details through character stories and moments. The magic school getting a large chunk of development on what it is and how it’s structured and FINALLY more in depth and concrete explanation of the magic system. There was some info dumping but in this case this book really needed it.
Story: The story is good, I was feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the different narrative strands and the book was also feeling overwhelmed with nothing really being deep and well done. Now with the separating of the mains we can get back to how it was when the series first start, a heroes’ journey and discovery. I love the school aspect, I love the learning that Aladdin is going through and I look forward to the journey of the other 3 mains, it’s good. This is when the book is at it’s best when it’s about show off this beautiful world and showing off these characters and the journey that they are trying to go through.
Characters: Some really wonderful character moments and development this time around. With the group splitting up there are some nice emotions and some earned tears. With them separated the book is able to focus on each character individually instead of having the story to be bloated with narrative, world building threads that take away from the core of the book, the characters. We get quiet moments with Aladdin in school, we see Morigana with her farewell to the Prince and all these other small emotions that are wonderful.
This book is getting more focused and I like that a lot.
Vamos a ver.
This is such a random manga. One chapter there’s fighting, and drama, and tragedy. And the next a character is confessing their love to another character, after a huge dark reveal. And then right after Aladdin is ogling some boobs.
It feels jarring, and the fact that he looks so young makes it ickier to me. This volume made me consider dropping the series. I’m going to go ahead and read the next one, but I’m not sure if I’ll see it all the way through. I guess it’ll depend on the level of fan service, and if I can stomach the grossness of it.
Which is unfortunate. Because it really is a very interesting story with compelling characters. I just find fan service annoying. And I’m aware that when reading Shōnen, it comes with the territory. There has to be balance though. The story has to be good enough to make up for the fan service. We’ll see how I feel when I read the next volume.

5/5 estrelas

New characters get Introduced throughout this volume and I remember them being quite interesting from the anime so I'm looking forward to seeing more of them.
This volume was really all over the place re storyline - the storyline did not flow well. Also, do we really need every new female character to have massive tits that are overflowing their bra top.
That twist! <3 This volume sheds more light to Hakuryuu's past, which I tell you is surprising and unpredictable. Poor him though. But we got some Morgiana x Alibaba (I'm pulling straws here) so yay for that! This is a fun volume even though the gang has separated on the second half. The next volume will tell the story of Alibaba's adventures in the Laem empire. I'd love to read more but I need to go to work tomorrow morning and it's already 11pm. I haven't slept well since I started reading this manga and I feel like I won't be able to stop myself from reading more if I begin with volume 15 now. :(
This Manga starts our humorous. I really enjoyed the characters at the beginning. The farther you read the deeper the plots become. Enjoyable at the beginning, and a must read for the later books. I can NOT wait for books 27 + Characters are real and raw. Everyone has there faults and I feel the author/artist dose a wonderful job of bringing everyones points of view, twisted though they might be, in to clear focus.
(note: I wouldn't recommend this manga for young teens. I fine the sexual innuendos pretty funny as an adult, but not really appropriate for younger audiences. Also the plot gets pretty dark at times. )
