Dressed as a boy, innocent Brigid O'Cullane infiltrates a ship full of pirates, seeking a treasure map that belonged to her dead father. What she isn't searching for is Liam Lynch, a gorgeous pirate who was once her dead father's closest--and possibly backstabbing--friend.

Liam catches Brigid in his cabin before she can find the map and he's after more than gold. Torn between desire and suspicion, she can't possibly trust Liam. Yet once he catches her, Brigid's hand is forced. She may be reluctant, but she still finds herself submitting to his demands, a slave to his desire.

Lilith T. Bell always dreamed of becoming a writer and in 2012 she finished her first novel. Almost immediately afterward, she became deathly ill. Then her house burned down. As if in some Job-like drama, she lost nearly every word she had ever written.

Undaunted--and perhaps taunting angry gods--she continues to write.

Today, Bell lives in the northwoods of the Midwest with her cat and travels frequently.

This was a short installment of the first in a serial. Not fond of these small broken up stories, this one isn't bad. Brigid is going to get the map to the island left to her from her father and Liam is going to give it to her. Just as the story is getting good, it's ended. If this was a complete story, I might have enjoyed it more.

This is the first part in a serial. It was engaging and decently done. There wasn't a lot of development but nice lead in to the next part. The first two segments are free and the second two are only 99 cents each; so not too bad for a complete book.
