Suitable for Adults 18+ [Siren Everlasting Erotic Cowboy Romance, sex toys, HEA]
Heather Rainier lives and writes in South Central Texas. Her stories offer up the content of her fantasies, with humor, tragedy, and triumph mixed in.
Heather's love of romance fiction began as a teenager when her mom gave her copies of Kathleen Woodiwiss's "The Flame and the Flower" and Bertrice Small's "Skye O'Malley". To this day she's pretty sure that was her mom's version of the "birds and the bees" talk.
Heather writes the type of novel she loves to read: More erotic and edgy than the mainstream, with plenty of sweet romance mixed in and a happily ever after guaranteed. Heather's favorite type of hero is the gentle, lovable giant but readers will discover a wide variety of heroes and alphas on the pages of her novels.
When not at her keyboard, Heather is usually busy corralling her teenagers, or loving on her smokin' hot husband, who thankfully loves to cook.
Heather invites readers to e-mail her at heather.rainier@yahoo.com and also to visit her website at www.heatherrainier.com
I'm not sure how to rate this. The "plot" portion of the story was sweet and lovely. The sex part was porn.
Sweet. Porn. Sweet. Porn.
It just couldn't make up its mind if it was a sweet, loving story between two kind wonderful people, or a porno with lines like "I can't wait to f*ck your tight cunt!" Oy.
I am totally getting too old for this shit, Penelope
Seth Carter is a tattoo artist and he met Jayne Sheridan at a 4th of July party. Jayne is interested in getting a tattoo after surviving cancer twice. She wants to really start living now that she is in remission. Seth shows her something that he drew with her in mind but doesn't know if she will like it due to size and how extensive it will be. He is shocked when not only loves it but decides to get it.
They are very attracted to each other but Seth doesn't feel worthy of her. When she decides to move on Seth realizes that he would take that chance to be with her than see her with someone else. The only thing is his ex is about throw a twist in their relationship and it brings trouble aren't aware of.
Jayne is really sweet and so a really good person. She was engaged but her ex broke up with her due to her infertility and her erotic writing. So she moves to a town that has lots of menage relationships and meets Seth.
Seth, who is a world traveled and somewhat famous tattoo artist. He has an ex that really did a number on him and makes him feel bad about the things that he dealt with while he was with her. But he is a really good man and Jayne brings him back to life that he thought he would never get.
I loved their relationship and thought they really gave each other something they thought was either out of reach or that passed them by. If you want a story with lots of drama or angst then this may not be the one for you. It was very relationship focused but it had a good damsel in distress moment which I always enjoy. It had some humor but nothing ott and was a really sweet love story and I recommend.
Let me say first, I created a new shelf just for this cover. I absolutely freaking love it. I want to print it out and hang it on my wall. It is so hot and sexy. I don't think I've ever seen a cover that represented two characters better.
Okay, so the story: Jayne is a two time cancer survivor in remission. She moves to Divine to start living her life. She works at the library. Seth is the resident motorcycle riding tattoo artist. The two meet during a July 4th celebration and are instantly attracted to each other. Jayne decides she wants to have Seth do a tattoo for her. He has the perfect one picked out. These sessions become very erotic. Usually, when I read, I find some fault in one or both of the mc's. This was not the case here. I loved both Jayne and Seth.
Jayne was so strong and tough. She has been through so much but was not weak or self-doubting. She was determined to make the most out of her life. I loved her. She stepped right in when Seth needed her and didn't question it. I wanted her to have her HEA. She deserved it.
Seth caused me to create a new shelf for book-boyfriend. He was absolutely perfect. He was so nice and considerate of not only Jayne but others in the town. As an example, he tattooed nipples on a breast cancer survivor for a very reduced price because he knew they were hit financially with medical bills. He made sure she was comfortable with him in all ways and made sure her husband was too. This hit very close to home for me so naturally, I fell in love with him all the more. I never ever doubted he loved Jayne with all his heart and soul. What he had with Tamar, his ex, was nothing compared to what he has with Jayne.
I loved how there were no secrets between Seth and Jayne. I hate misunderstandings and miscommunication that could easily be solved just by talking. This was not the case here. They were both very upfront with each other so neither was left second guessing or doubting the other. Even when Jayne is still there for him and does what she needs to do to help him.
This is erotica but there was also a wonderful love story here. Yes, there were cheesy lines that sounded like they were from a bad B porn movie. I did not care! I loved it anyway. Yes, there was a cliched troupe that most will not like but I did not care. I was all about the love between these two and I felt it on every page. There's a little drama near the end (not between them) but these two do get their HEA.
I would really like to read more in this series. Many of the books are menages and I love them. But, they are so damn expensive! I'll have to treat myself occasionally.
Safety Gang: *I know most of you will stay away from this for various reasons but for those who want more details.
This book is number 12 in a series based in a town called Divine, Texas. I picked it up because it features my favourite trope: virgin meets bad boy. I also really like stories about tattoo artists. This book did a great job of depicting the artistry and appeal of tattoos. I really liked the heroine who suffered from recurring cancer and is trying get out and to live her life. There is a little dissonance due to the characters meeting in a previous book. I felt I had missed an important chunk of their initial relationship. I understand that readers of the entire series wouldn't want to repeat that information but I felt the lack in this book.
If this book had ended at about 67% I would have been completely satisfied with it. Unfortunately there is a plot twist at this point that completely ruined it for me. The hero's ex-girlfriend shows up with his one year old child and abandons him on the hero's door step. Apparently the hero didn't know anything about his son. I felt this really demonized his ex-girlfriend. All in order to provided the couple with a family, since the heroine's cancer treatments left her infertile. It seemed very contrived and I stopped reading at that point.

Jayne is set on living life as much as possible. For years she has struggled with illness and now that it looks like she might have beat it, at least for a while, she’s ready for everything. Including starting something with Seth.
Seth is reluctant to take Jayne virginity. He’s been witness to too much to take that step but as their relationship grows while he tattoos her body he’s realized that he wants nothing more than to make her his.
This was a very nice romance showcasing the trust that is built between two individuals as they grow together. There was a lot of interactions with other characters from what I presume to be earlier books. Having not read them I felt that they were a bit unnecessary at times. The relationship between Seth and Jayne was incredible though and I loved how caring he was with her. He was not a manho and his sole focus was on taking care of her. The little surprise at the last quarter of the book was unexpected and I thought it was a perfect addition considering Jayne’s health.
There is some action at the end and plenty of hot steamy goodness throughout the book. I can totally see why this is a favorite of so many readers and I appreciate the recommendations I’ve received from GoodReads fans regarding it.
Dual POV Safe – no om drama; a bit of ow drama but the H is completely done with her Possible triggers
I loved this story. Seth is the perfect mix of hot alpha sweetness. I think he is one of my favorite Hs. He proves that you can be an alpha male without being a total asshole. Jayne was a selfless, kind, generous person. Together they were amazing. They were both totally supportive of each other which is what a good relationship should be about. Any drama came from other sources and only made them stronger. This will be a definite reread for me.
Hold the phones people, this was amazing and HAWT! OMG!!! I read this book in no time because I couldn't stop. I couldn't get enough of this couple. Seth is defo gonna be in my dreams for a long, long time *wink and thanks Heather for this male*. Seth is your "typical bad boy" image with his Harley and tattooes but so amazingly sweet and kind...the whole" don't judge a book by its cover" saying comes to mind Jayne is a 38 year old virgin due to a choices/promises she made to herself and then dealing with a continual illness she hasn't been able to explore that part of life. Jayne and Seth meet in book 11 but this was their book in the series. Have I mentioned how hawt Seth is.....WOWZERS!!!! Ok so yeah I like tattooes and goatees and sexy men and...........*SMH* ok back to the review Angie........
I loved, in the books, the sense of "family" that all the characters bring to the novel. Everyone is willing and ready to help when Seth has a little something delievered to him via his crazy bitch of an ex girlfriend, Tamar.....*GROWLS at the mention of her name*. This story line definately shows the character that Seth is made up of because he doesnt think twice but jumps in. It also shows how passionate Jayne is because she too jumps in to help Seth and protect him. This couple is definately one of my favorites with all the books I have read. I definately look forward to more Jayne and Seth in the future books in the series.
Ok so I gotta tell ya, if you are CONSIDERING this book lemme say I would definatley rank her -books in Hawtness to Cherise Sinclair. Now I am a super-de-dooper fan of Cherise and am on her street team so I can tell you Heather writes some HAWTNESS!!!!!
Get ready for another fun-filled, erotic, and delightful visit to Divine, Texas, where a cancer survivor who is bound and determined to live every day to the fullest meets a world reknowned tatoo artist who claims her heart. This is Jane and Seth's story and they were first introduced in the July 4th novella. It is a book that also continues to keep readers in touch with citizens of Divine whose stories have been told in previous novels. It is also a tribute to those whose lives have been ravaged by cancer and who are incredibly grateful for every moment they have been given to live. It is also a tribute to those, like Seth, who know the devastation that cancer brings as it changes bodies, hurts self-image, and whose lives are irrevocably changed by the disease as well as the severe nature of treatment. I experienced a deep and heartfelt kind of response to his gentle and sensitive handling of a number of individuals who came to him and hoping that his creative designs could obliterate or at least cover some of the burns of chemotherapy or make the results of reconstructive surgery more realistic with his art. It's a book that reads like another chapter in real life and whose characters continue to exhibit that deep sense of communal caring, of standing in the gap for one another, of authentically valuing one another and of accepting love in its many forms and manifestations. Another stellar piece of writing from Ms Rainier.
This is a series that you do not want to miss reading
each books can be read as stand alone. My advise, pick one in the series, read it and if you like it, go back and read from the start. Each story is very endearing. :)
(...) 14 stories so far and going. This is a rare series that I am not tired reading. Somehow Heather Rainier, with her unique style, makes me want to know more about those Divine Creek people. They became with time a little bit of my family. You know, the kind of family you do not see much but when you do at family reunions, you are very happy to catch on. That’s how I feel each time I read one of Mrs Rainier’s story. I feel as if I need to catch what is going on with people I did not see for a while. I find that very precious. (...)
I was very excited to read this book; Virgin, curvy heroine and a bad boy? Sign me up! However, I felt myself skimming more that reading and devouring like I had hoped. The characters were well thought out and the plot what a good idea, but the story fell flat. I was hoping to get caught up with the characters but I found myself bored. There was no build up or tension. There are rarely any surprises in a romance novel but usually I can get lost in the drama and emotions of the book. I was so bored with the book I even skimmed the sex scenes. It wasn't a horrible book. I at least finished it and I don't put up with books that displease me. Over all I'd give it a 3 but I wouldn't reread it.

Review
The love story here is incredibly sweet, loving, healthy, and moving. Both of our lead characters are grown people with lives, friends, and careers. They are whole people not looking to complete themselves with another nor looking to enhance themselves with someone that looks the part for them but rather discovering a great partner for themselves.
Seth is a sexy, tattooed, goateed, sweetheart of a man. This is my first book in the series and I picked it up because Seth was up for some hottest hero awards. He deserves them. However, I wish I got to know his backstory beyond his very failed relationship with his ex. This knowledge (maybe found in other books in the series) would have made it an even better read.
Our heroine is great. It is easy to see why Seth loves her. She is funny and brave. She is honest. And she is a redheaded sexy librarian. What is not to love? Her backstory of illness and the reasoning of her love life's state was very well done with the perfect emotional pitch.
The erotic bits of this story (and there are a pile of them) were out of tone with the love story often. I get that we can switch to dirty talk from our everyday selves but most of these scenes didn't reveal character or move the plot forward much. There are few sex scenes that of course do blend but more that seem tacked in for cock count. So, there was a lot of of discord to the storytelling. I could have skipped these scenes or read them as stand alones. I like erotica so this criticism isn't about the content but rather of continuity and flow.
I enjoyed the writing of this book's romance very much. I thought while overly convenient because of the heroine's inability to have childern (this is revealed pretty early) the turn of events toward the end of the books were tender. However, the villain part was a bit far fetched in at least as I doubt he would have come himself.
Overall, I enjoyed this one. The writer has a great voice.
Even though I enjoyed this book enough to want to read more by this writer, I am hesitant do so because of the publisher. I rarely buy books by this publisher despite the fact that they have many excellent writers and I like erotica. Here is why...
The titles of their books are often awful. This title is. It is a "dirty book" title left over from the days of adult bookstores with sticky floors in industrial areas that were written only for men. There is so much more plot and romance here and the title sounds just like a fetish exploration which all discredits the quality of the writing. I have nothing against those kinds of books but this isn't one of them. It is also very very forgettable like a raunchy Harlequin Presents title. Also, no matter how open you are about your reading habits recommending this one in a public place strains even my superhero status as out about what I read mainly because it is so lame.
The prices of Siren books are prohibitive. If I wanted to pick up and read the Divine Ranch series from the beginning, I am looking at for the e book version $8.99 to $9.99 per title. This is book 12 and there are more after. I just don't think they should run that high. It is like you are paying more money because the book as an adult rating. The print cost of these books is $17 per. Even best sellers are only priced that high in the hardback. I get print run costs--I am just saying--meh. I looked to see if books were cheaper if you bought them directly from the publisher that that didn't seem to be the case.
The books are not lendable. I think this is wrong for all publishers but for a publisher coming of age in the e book market it seems to be a cultural rudeness. I do not know the backstory of this company very well though. Ellora's Caves books are overpriced as well but they do reduce prices over time and have kindle give aways (freebies). This allows me to try new writers without have to risk nearly 10 dollars to do so. Siren someone short stories they put out at a lower price. I wonder if Siren would join the lending libraries?
Editorial policies. When I read the books from Siren, I sometimes feel that the brand is promoted over the writing. Meaning that there has to be be so many sex scenes and toys or anal must be in play if it is part of certain line. In this brand the reader expects blank sex act so here is the blank sex act. This kind of editorial or authorial limitations hurts what in some cases really could be romance book classics.
Okay, this little rant done. I am just grumpy because I would like to read more of this writer but I won't be able to glut myself and I like gluttony. And it is good for the writers that I do!
I knew from the last short story that I couldn't wait to read this one. Jayne and Seth are so different, but their attraction was instant. I really loved how with the tattoo that Jayne told Seth her past and loved how he accepted it and her, it really helped cement things between the two of them.
The slow way that they got to know each other was great, it helped when trouble came to the door. They had that trust to allow the other to do what was right and needed. The new direction that things took for them was great. I loved how Divine stepped up to take care of one of their own and later how another community did the same.
The ending was great, loved the wedding with the perfect best man!
Loved Seth, very sexy man. A little preposterous with a 38 year old virgin but hey, you have to take these stories with a little grain of salt. Nice to read the other side of the Lusty story I read a while back as well.
"His tattoed virgin" is the story of Jayne and Seth. Jane is a 38 year old virgin, in remission from Hodgkin and finally about to live her life.. beyond being a librarian. When she approaches her super hot tattoo artist Seth, he decides to mark her skin, and her heart too. The book was LONG and it did drag at a lot of parts. I liked how the book dealt with the topic of cancer, it's aftermath, infertility and other topics, the introduction of Toby, how caring Seth was.. but since I didn't read the series in order- the other couples jumping in and out didn't make much sense. The sex scenes, whenever they occurred- were hot but the first half barely has them and second half has looooads other drama going on too. I think I'll have to read ménage books, as my friend Chas recommended to understand this authors worth because this left me underwhelmed. Safe 2.5/5
Honestly, DNF this. It was kinda sweet. But got a bit boring after a while. I guess I didn’t have the patience to get to the ultimate arc of the story.
Girl is a virgin librarian. She was going to save her virginity for her wedding night, but almost dying from cancer makes her revisit her values. She wants to give it up to the hot tattoo artist, but he says that she should save her virginity for someone special. When she tries to pick up a guy at a bar, he gets jealous and agrees to take her virginity. They start going out and he tattoos something for her. He wanted her to value her virginity because he once saw a woman raped for porn. He was unable to stop it and it has haunted him ever since. One day, his ex comes by with his son who he didn't know existed. He takes him in and the ex leaves for Japan without a backward glance. The female lead cannot have a child because of all the radiation treatment she underwent to fight her cancer, The lead couple step up to become parents with the hell of their family and neighbors. After the couple has had the baby a few months and have really bonded with the baby, the phonographer, who had been sleeping with the male lead's ex, comes for the baby to sell him. When he sees the female lead, he takes her too, to care for the baby and to rape and sell off later. However, they didn't take her phone and she was able to tell her location to the male lead. She is rescued, but gets shot in the ribs trying to protect the baby. Everyone is fine, and they marry when she is fully recovered. The story ends on their wedding night.

I bought this book on the recommendation of a friend then was able to meet the author at an off RT signing hosted by Kallypso Masters in Missouri this past May where she signed the book for me *squeal*. Second note, I didn’t not realized this was a series until I was 90% threw the book, sooo now I get to go back and read the first 11 books. Yes, that is how good this book was I want, no scratch that, need to go and read her other books. This book most definitely gets 5 starts from me and more if they were available.
On the outside Seth is the Bad Boy poster child. I mean come on, Tattoos, goatee, smokin’ body, rides a Harley, owns a Tattoo shop….. tell me that is not a Bad Boy. Well good thing Ms. Jayne Sheridan, the Liberian, doesn’t read a book by its cover or she would never gotten to know how great Seth really is. I love how sweet a loving Seth is and how kind and understanding Jayne is. I also enjoyed seeing how their friends and Jayne jumped in to help Seth put the pieces of his life back together after his ex-girlfriend dropped by for an unannounced visit.
I just loved reading about the other couples in the book too and can’t wait to read their stories. Heather Rainier has a way of hooking you into a story and not wanting to put it down. I read this book in one day I just could not set it down. Time to start reading the other books.
Jayne is a wonderful heroine that I found extremely easy to get behind with everything she has had to overcome in her life....Seth is the quintessential bad boy/loner who didn't realize what he was truly looking for until he trips her in the library(read Sparks Fly first)....they are going along pretty well until one hurdle after another trips them up and when a surprise from his past threatens to tear apart his life Seth turns to his Divine community and some Lusty help....wonderful story....*sidenotes* please don't be discouraged by people who haven't read the intro to this book or people who couldn't be bothered to finish the story and there for know nothing of the storyline....onto the next
I love a story of Divine. What a great town. The characters are deep and thoughtful. The story has suspense, romance, sexy lovin', and a well written tale. We always learn something new in a Divine Creek story. Jayne has seen enough pain to last a lifetime.. In remission now, she meets Seth, the new guy, tattoo artist. The town already likes him because he helped Clay and Del when Lily was taken by her abusive ex. He is as thrilled with Jayne as she is with him. Heartwarming, true feelings, and romance in Divine. I look forward to more.... ENJOY !!
This one was a little bit different in most of the previous books in the series in that there was no menage, and the characters are moving away from the ranch-based scenario.
Still, it was *really* sweet and had action, new character introduction for future books, etc.
Some good tunes to look up on iTunes, as well. I even bought one from one of the groups mentioned (just not the one in the book, lol).
"Her Tattooed Virgin" is another great read by Ms. Heather Rainier. She captures your heart with her storytelling and makes you wish there really was a place called Divine. This book will have you laughing one minute and reaching for your kleenex the next. Seth stole my heart like all her heros do. Jayne, after battling a life threatening illness learns to trust her heart and "seize the day." You will not be disappointed.
Another great addition to the Divine Creek Ranch series. Once again, we get caught up with previous characters as they intertwine with our main couple. Seth is the sweet, loving hero, determined to stand by Jayne, no matter what. Jane, a survivor of cancer, wants to live her life to the fullest and lets Seth lavish her with love. It's a great story with just enough suspense from "bad guys" to make it interesting.
