All’s fair in love, but how will Julie fare as the threat of war looms over Avalon?

Just as she was getting settled in at Tactical Command, her duty to the unborn dragon heir has Julie chasing her tail between OPMA and the Deep. It’s been so long since she had any time for her mom that the words “aloe vera juice” have almost lost their power.

Being pulled in so many different directions would be a lot harder for Julie without a certain Aether Elf prince by her side.

The couple get their first taste of domestic bliss as she gets to grips with life in the Deep. While the relief of her separation from Eggy ending is huge, not every dragon is happy to have her there.

A mystery dragoness comes to call amid a whirlwind of Deep nobility hoping to get Julie’s—and the unborn heir’s—favor. Their introduction draws Julie into the heart of dragon politics, a complex battleground that only the strongest survive.

Will the dragons decide to intervene in the war for Avalon’s future? Or will the war be over before a consensus is reached?

While Julie’s frustration with the sluggish pace of dragonkind’s decision-making process grows, Queen Esmerelda is taking rapid action to subvert the coming war.

Julie and Taylor return to Avalon in time for the departure of the Eternal Council, who are embarking on a whirlwind tour of the larger para settlements across Avalon and Earth.

Being back with her bestie and her old unit as their tactical support officer is practically a vacation for Julie, one where she gets to see Taylor shine in his role as liaison between the royals families and the Council while they visit places she had only ever dreamed about seeing.

But there’s a spy in their midst, and someone is determined to derail the peace process by any means necessary. The death of a minor royal in Paris leaves Mina Nox vulnerable to accusations of murder.

As Julie works to clear Mina’s name, tragedy strikes the Woodskin family and they are forced to return to New York to pick up the pieces while the rest of the team prepare to take action against the renegade paras gathering in Spain.

Navigating the infuriating minefield that is dragon politics falls to the side when the hunt for the para building a geasa-controlled army comes to a head with a shocking revelation.

Can a lie told in the name of protection be forgiven? Or will Julie end up being the first para to fall when the truth comes out?

A long time ago I was born in Los Angeles. That's where I spent many of my formative years. After I became an adult, I moved around for a bit before ending up in a small town in Oregon, very similar to Bailey's hometown. Greenhearth is fake, if you haven't already Googled that, but it's like many small towns with less than 1,000 people.

My pets...
I love animals, especially my two even if they do create havoc in my daily life. I have a cat, named Snowstorm, Storm for short. Then I have a rescue, Josephine. She's a Labradoodle - I think. It's hard to say but it's the best I can come up with.

What I'm working on...
I'm already working on the next book in the series - was working on it before Bad Attitude came back from editing. And now that it has released, need to stay on track with A Bit Aggressive.

So many things happen in this book, that it's a race from start to finish.

The Dark Moon anti-royalists seem to know exactly where the Para-Military are going to turn up, and Julie, Bianca, and the Griffin Corp are run ragged trying to put out fires - many of them literal - as they desperately search for proof of the leak, that they know is coming from inside the OPMA.

With Julie's new position as a Major, she is sent to Tactical, to use her strength as a Tactician, to try and prevent the looming war from happening.

But a series of attacks that kill far too many of their most important people, has Julie run ragged, trying to be the Major expected of her, and to keep Eggy, her Dragon Egg, happy, along with trying to be the mysterious 'Knight', who protects the normal paras that never get the attention they actually need.

Things become so bad, with the constant losses, that Julie is at her wits' end - but, suddenly, Qtana, the Troll scientist who has been trying to break the Geasa, that all Dark Moon Para's are under, in order to get information, without the Para dying while being questioned, has a breakthrough!

What happens next is both a good thing, and a bad thing, but Julie, just when things are hoting up, is called urgently to The Deep, so must once again leave all her other responsibilities behind, to go to the Egg!

Once again, I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I'm going straight over to Book 10: 'Victor', in order to see whether their new weapon will help them against the Dark Moon Paras.

So, once I finish this next book, I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I think of it!

Julie is being a jerk, Written at 30% completion

Thus far, I'm not really liking Julie as much in this book. She is grouchy, snippy, and unapologetically rude. When she is asked to do (or not do) something, she cooperates only exactly as long as she feels like doing so. When it is pointed out to her that other people might have gotten hurt, she shrugs it off because "they didn't." I know she's touchy about wanting to protect others, rather than being protected herself, but she's becoming a bit of a jerk about it.
Justified insubordination is one thing, but insubordination purely due to arrogance is something else. It is not a good look. And I don't like how it's starting to feel like Julie isn't giving her dragon everything/all the support her unhatched dragon needs just because Julie can't be bothered to sit still for that long. I'm hoping this is just a rough spot that she eventually grows to overcome, but the stakes are high enough that any mistake is likely to prove costly. So the longer we have to wait for Julie to stop being a jerk, the less I want to keep reading, because I figure the fall out will be worse, the longer we have to wait for it.

Julie is spending time in the Deep with Eggsy, her bonded dragon egg, and Taylor is also there as a diplomatic liaison.
As the bond with Eggsy grows, Julie learns more about dragon politics as well as having to fight off two dragons that want to kidnap her.
But the war is still coming in Avalon. Julie and Taylor are called back to be part of a diplomatic mission, travelling the world to try and unite all paranormals ahead of war. Of course, this does not go smoothly with surprise attacks, battles, spies and more.
This book is the next level of Julie’s career as well as her part in trying to stop the upcoming war. She is torn in so many ways, trying to do the right thing, trying to follow orders and enjoying her relationship with Taylor.
There is a lot of action, surprises, sadness, the mystery of who is behind the rebels and as always some humour.
This is a quick, enjoyable, read.

PMARecruiter9; 4.5 ⭐️

Julie Meadows is embracing being Lunar Fae, and the talents it has opened within her. But the tentacles of conspiracy are drawing tighter, as non-combatant paras lives are disrupted, and blame is tossed on the Eternity Throne.

To win against the separatists, will take a unity not seen or needed since the Second Pendragon wars, when Mordred was defeated and captured. So, the Avalon councilors are traveling to paranormal outposts and palaces, near and far, to present a treaty of commitment and get signed allies.

Their enemy is prepared, obstacles abound, and murder dogs the envoys. The Aether Elf compound is destroyed and the king and queen killed; unrest and destruction the banner of the day. And, Julie straddles her responsibilities - to command and her dragonet, and her boyfriend - but seemingly one step behind.

There are seven more books…

A surprising new favorite

In three days I've read all nine available books in this series. Surprisingly, its a new favorite. Magic and fantasy are just not something I'm typically interested in though I do love many paranormal stories. Book one wasn't what I expected but it really grabbed my attention and now, three days later... here we are!

I would recommend this series to anyone 16ish. There is no intimacy but there is mild to severe language and violence.

Things are heating up

Julie, Taylor and other delegates are heading out to meet with paras to see if they can get more of them on the queens side. While they are gone evil strikes against some of the reigning families and the war gets worse. There is lots of action and twists in this book and I could not put it down until I finished it. I cannot wait for the next book to get some answers and see what happens next.

Another good story in the series

Good characters who are easy to empathize with and a fast paced story with plenty of action made a story that I couldn't put down. I have enjoyed watching Julie embrace finding out her true heritage and her role in the paranormal world and look forward to her next story

Tear-jerker

This is war. A tiny ray of hope appears at the end of several battles, many deceptions and horrible losses. The fight for freedom for all will continue, because the PMA won't quit til it is won. If Julie has her way, she'll be ahead of the pack all the way to victory. She has people to avenge and wrongs to right. Can't wait to see it!

An outstanding and tremendously enjoyable series!!!!!

Congratulations to Renee Jagger and Michael Anderle for this intriguing series. It’s extremely hard to find such interesting and exciting authors who not only write intelligently but also provide top rated plots, characters and excitement in their stories. I’m really looking forward to the next book.

Taking chandes

The fight is intensifying and the author gives us intrigue, terror & more battles. The team has to get a break even if it means taking super risky chances. With high risk, there's usually high reward but also a real chance of loss & the author shows us that as well.

And so the story continues

What will happen to Julie and Taylor next? All the action has taken place in a very short time despite time in Avalon and the human world not being in sync. I am rooting for Julie to heal Arthur, who may be a direct ancestor of hers. I’m yearning to know who is behind the Mordred cult and the plot to throw Avalon into turmoil. Seven books to go!

little slow on this one

The story is exceptional. I feel this one slowed somewhat as opposed to the other books. The Fairies are awesome and well depicted in this volume!! Onward to book 10 when it’s out on 8/8/2023. Already preordered.

Hoping for answers

This has been one convoluted ride. I was hoping for some answers but it just seems to be getting worse! Hoping the next book reveals all or at least most. Too much happening too quickly leaving me dissatisfied.
