I touch . . .
. . . hot sand
. . . cold snowflakes
. . . slippery soap
. . . a tickly feather

What feels nice to touch? Is it a fluffy puppy or a tickly feather? Or how about a prickly hedgehog or a slimy worm? This book not only raises awareness in young children of the sense of touch but does so in a light-hearted and humorous way.

Very cute book about one of our five senses! This book is geared more towards preschool, prekindergarten, kindergarten classes. This book had a lot of great every day type of examples that children touch or should not touch! Illustrations are cute but life like. For instance a feather brushed upon your toes leaves a picture of toes that are all smiling!

The illustrations were probably the items that drew me into the book's theme! It is very eye catching on the book's cover & I saw it from across the library! The text is simple with a few words on each page. It would be great for those children who are in the pre-reading stages (preschool and prekindergarten who like to look at books and memorize their pages) it would also be a great book to have for kindergarten for those children who are learning to read.

This will be on my list of books to have available during that lesson series on the 5 senses. There are other books that also go along with the 5 senses! I would recommend this book to teachers and educators of early childhood classrooms. I would also encourage those same teachers and educators to use the book as a diving board for ideas to further the expanse of this subject matter.
