LeKrista Scott has killed a vampire, and now his lover wants revenge.
After months of watching her from the shadows, Lucretious, a millennia old vampire, finally makes his attack during a party thrown by his maker, Roman - a party where Roman proclaims his protection over LeKrista. Roman steps in and saves her life, but not before she deals Lucretious the true death in front of his lover, Perdita. Now LeKrista is running for her life and Roman is trying to save it, but she’s not sure if he really cares or if he has some underhanded reason for keeping her alive. She seeks help from Mages but they refuse to help her, even though she exhibits high potential as a Mage herself. In a last ditch effort, Roman whisks LeKrista away, but Perdita finds them. LeKrista must eliminate Perdita one way or another.

Scorned is one of those Vampire books that has you at the edge of your seat. Lekrista is torn between two vampires. They both love her and they are both willing to fight for her but she is not sure what she wants. But one thing is for sure when she is attacked by a vampire and she kills him his lover wants revenge. His lover will stop at nothing to get to Lekrista. So he sits and watches her and waits for an opportunity to kill her. Then he finds out she will be at Roman's party and so he goes there with the intentions of killing her but Roman has sworn protection for her and he is determined to keep her safe.

So at Romans party when Lucretious attacks Lekrista she kills him. When she kills him she sets off a mass of destruction and she and Roman flee in order for Roman to keep her safe. She is not exactly sure why Roman wants to protect her but she is glad he is on her side. As she seeks help from others they flat out refuse to help her because they consider her a lose cannon and they don't want their families or friends in harms way.

What is Roman and Lekrista going to do? What are they up against? Is Roman serious about protecting Lekrista? This is an awesome vampire read that takes you through so many twists and turns you will not be sorry.

Great book, full of different types of paranormal. The book was definitely worth reading, and I enjoyed it very much. I didn't quite like how it ended, but I am assuming there is a book two, that I can't wait to read. If you get the chance I don't think you'll regret reading this book. I am dyeing to find out what Pierce is...

LeKrista has a vampire or two in her head, she can’t stop them from filling her head with images she doesn’t want, things she can’t handle knowing. Roman is protecting her as best he can but she doesn’t want to be beholden to a vampire, she just wants to live her life. After she kills Lucretious, in front of his lover Perdita, she’s got another vampire after her. Perdita will stop at nothing to get LeKrista.
This was a new take on a vampire story and I have to say I love it! Tyffani Clark Kemp has made my day with yet another book. I am loving the author’s style and totally hooked. I am hoping there is much more to come from Tyffani Clark Kemp, I will be watching and waiting!! Thank you for the book to read and review, sigh…I am such a fan now.

Another interesting take on the vampire genre. I enjoyed LeKrista's plucky character and her overall demeanor. There were moments in the story where I got a little confused and wasn't sure what was happening, but on the whole, it was a great read. Will read the sequel when it comes out.

Unclear

Most of the time you won't know what's happening and neither will the heroine who will pass out and miss everything. I'm unsure and it was NEVER explained why Roman couldn't just kill Perdita. Was she more powerful? I don't know if he ever actually fought her. Maybe when LeKrista or is it Staci was unconscious from all the plot being skipped around her.

Scorned was a magnificent start to the LeKrista Scott, Vampire Hunted trilogy. Tyffani Clark Kemp did such an amazing job with this YA Paranromal novel. There is a balance of romance, killing and drama which makes it all amazing. I love vampires so this was just an automatic good novel for me.

One my favorite lines from the book is from Pierce: "So, Roman is a vampire pimp daddy man whore?" LMFAO -- just priceless! That basically describes Roman to a T. I couldn't stop laughing when he asked LeKrista that.

LeKrista was definitely an awesome female lead protagonist. She was snarky, bold and confident. She had her moments where she felt weak, but when she snapped out of it she was capable of kicking butt. Her attraction to Roman seems to have to do with him having access to her mind and her powers as a mage. I don't think she is seriously attracted to him as she is with Pierce.

Roman is a mysterious guy to me. I'm still trying to figure out if he loves LeKrista, wants to harm or just wants her for the power she has. It's all so shifty with him. Roman is the kind of guy that's sweet on the eyes, but you'd never want to mess with him because he has so many dark secrets and refuses to tell you the truth. Roman is has no points from me, even though from time to time he has chivalrous moments.

Pierce is such a sweetheart, but finding out that there is more to him paranormally is crazy. The fact that he can't tell her until they are married and have sex is crazy. Through everything LeKrista went through he was always there for her and never stayed upset, even when he knew Roman's intentions to break them up. I love Pierce and he has my vote over Roman! I mean five years with LeKrista has to count for something.

Eddy and his girls being shapeshifters is insane. I honestly didn't see that coming. All the hostility between them and LeKrista makes so much sense now. I hope things hash out even more between them.

Perdita and Lucretious. pissed me off. Lucretious is a jerk. Killing LeKrista to get to his maker, Roman, made no sense. I know Roman disposed of his first love Vivian, but it seems like he was doing the same. He should have just left LeKrista alone. All his advances to try and kill her never succeeded. He did get a few good injuries in, but ultimately he failed and cost his own life. Perdita is a straight queen bee. I understand she lost her lover, but killing others to turn them and trying to kill LeKrista was just a fail just like her lover.

Excited for Hunted and to see if LeKrista agrees to the marriage proposal, if Pierce reveals what he is and how things go with Roman.

Tyffani Clark Kemp – Scorned **** 4 Stars

Let me start by saying Miss Clark Kemp is positively amazing. I love suspense and this book had plenty of it, keeping me interested from page one, right to the very end. I loved every chapter it was that good!

The story follows our lead character the beautiful LeKrista Scott coming to terms with the world she knows, changing around her. She begins to realise something is wrong when she becomes plagues by violent nightmares, vivid hallucinations and voices in her head. It soon comes to light that the world she had always read about in fairytales actually exists….shape shifters….Vampires (Hot ones!!)… You name it, this book has got it! The more LeKrista learns the more power she gains and that gets her a few enemies in this book. With some help from the amazingly sensual Roman (with what I imagine is possibly the sexiest accent ever) the story follows her fighting for survival.

I really can’t say any more without giving away too much of the book, and trust me you DO NOT want me to spoil this one for you!! So just trust me when I say this book is a little gem and you will love every second. The characters are well thought out and developed throughout the book, you can’t help but fall in love with them all. My favourite part of reading is getting so lost that I feel like I’m living it myself! Tyffani managed this effortlessly and each scene was described in such beautiful detail I genuinely felt like I was there.

I just found out this is Tyffani’s debut novel! So let’s just say if this is her debut I really can not wait to read her future work!

For all of these reasons and a million more I gave it 4 well deserved stars. One not to miss xx

I reviewed my purchased copy for my stop on the blog tour at Donnie Darko Girl.

I remember feeling wowed after seeing the cover for Scorned and reading the synopsis. I had to find out how LeKrista killed a vampire and what chain of events that would set off, especially with the vampire's lover hell-bent on revenge.

LeKrista is a character who was for the most part likable and strong. She was brave even with all of the danger surrounding her and is the type to not go down without a fight, which saves her life time and again. I think she's interesting and intelligent, and I wanted more background on her before jumping into the action.

I wasn't too sure of her relationship with Pierce - I wanted to like him but found him to be strange and not quite deserving of LeKrista's love. There was something about him I didn't trust; it was more of a feeling rather than something I could specifically point out.

Scorned is packed with a lot of action, and the twists and turns kept me guessing. I liked the story and the direction it took. I wanted to give Scorned at least one more star but couldn't because LeKrista passed out too many times to be believable, and I was confused with what was going on in the story at times. I needed things to be more clear, and a lot of action was skipped over during the times LeKrista was unconscious.

With the huge potential I see in this story and Kemp's writing, I'm looking forward to reading Hunted.

Too many ridiculous holes in the story. This book has been in my library for at least a year. I finally decided to read it. Frustration and confusion took over my mind. I believe I was starting chapter 8, when I realized the author still has not told us exactly what this book was about. Why is this random female is being stalked by a powerful vampire, Lucretious. Another power vampire, Roman, is protecting her. Who, by the way, she saw in the flower shop where she works. LeKrista is dating a man she's been seeing for over five years, and have not slept with, because he wants to wait until they are married. (Honorable, but not the truth). However, they sleep and shower together. She, is a virgin, he is not. (Did not understand the significance from the book, but what else is new). How was Lucretious able to get in her head, when others needed her blood? How did Lucretious actually die? Why does a grown woman have a curfew, but didn't really honor it any way? The most ridiculous part of this book was that LeKrista constantly passed out. She was suppose to be powerful, but at every turn, she passed out. So many opportunities were missed because LeKrista was passed out. Flying, fight scenes. You name it LeKrista missed it. Every time she woke, she was told what she missed. Ridiculous. I just had so many issues with this book, there is no way I can recommend. However, I am in the minority. Needless to say, I will not be continuing the series.

This book had a couple of good points. The characters were probably the best part about the book, as well as the premise. The downside of this book was that there was a BIG lack of development in plot procession. Much time was spent sleeping, snuggling (with lover), eating, dressing, or descriptions of the vampire settings, and fewer main events and informative writing. This made the book a vampire drama when it could have been so much more. A lot is revealed toward the end of the book, and it appears that the ball will get rolling in the second book.

Should you read this book? Hmm... where to start? The main character is a woman of color, she has seizures throughout the book, and her mind is hunted or infiltrated by vampires as well (thus the vampire hunted). If you are sensitive about these things: do not read this book. To continue, as already said, this book has slow plot procession and there's a limited amount of action. BUT I enjoy almost anything off the beaten path, so I didn't mind any of these things. I luuuuved the way Kemp treated her urban character, and their urban romance as well as the other characters. I also liked the plot's highlights, and some of the backstories. MY only complaint is lack of action, and plot repetition. But yes, I was entertained.

The start was a little slow, but once I got into this book it really picked up and I loved it! LeKrista Scott's life was normal until she realized that she was being stalked by a vampire. She could feel eyes watching her at different times for the past couple months. And one day while almost dropping her beer outside her car, Roman uses some fast reflexes and catches them all for her. From then on her world is not the same! She ends up killing the vampire that was stalking her. He was made by Roman. And now the lover of the truly dead vampire wants revenge. Only LeKrista plans on staying alive! Roman seems to want her for his own reasons too, but LeKrista tells him that she's off limits. She has a boyfriend named Pierce. And just when LeKrista thinks she knows the people in her life, she realizes that she knew nothing. So many secrets! There are lots of twists and turns in this book and the ending actually made me a little mad with the decision she made, but I'll let you read it and find out what you think. Perhaps you'll see her point of view? I give this book 4 stars.

Scorned
By Tyffani Clark Kemp

LeKrista thought her life was fairly normal until she met Roman. After meeting Roman she began to learn that supernatural things do exist and that she might be part of the whole supernatural picture. Even the guy she loves is something more and it is a lot to take in. One day you are normal and the next you are being hunted by wolf shifters, vampires, and the guy you love tells you he isn’t human and can’t explain. LeKrista deals well with Roman, likes him but loves Pierce. Roman, however, is a vampire and one of the oldest around. Pierce has secrets and she isn’t sure anymore where he stands with her and the person she is becoming. What she learns about herself opens up a whole new meaning to her life and she has a lot of choices to make. Tyffani Clark Kemp takes you on a fast paced story with twists and turns and surprises that keep you reading and loving it. If you love a story with paranormal, love, changes and great reading read Scorned.

I have absolutely no words for this book. There was a lot going on in this book but it was still intriguing. I couldn't stop reading it because I had to know what would happen next. I am really hoping that there is another book to follow this one because I want to know what happens with this group of characters. Do LeKrista and Pierce end up together forever? What is Pierce? Does LeKrista help Roman and the vampires? I have a lot of questions since I finished the book and I look forward to getting answers.

There are a lot of conversations that happen within LeKrista's mind between here and the vampires which can be kind of hard to follow. I do however love the vastness of the characters and the plot. Things I didn't quite get in the beginning of the book were tied up by the end. There is still a lot of questions obviously but hopefully we get some answers soon.

I'm going to start this off with my honest opinion on vampires-- They are overdone. It is unlikely to come up with something original when they've been done by about every author you can name. Don't get me wrong, I still have a weak spot for a good bloodsucker novel every now and then, but it's usually my go-to when I'm not looking for something to blow me away. It's kind of impossible to hook me like Kemp did.

That being said, I need to eat my words. Scorned is a vampire novel, yes, but it's a TOTALLY different take on the genre. I have read my share of vampires and never have I come across something as awesome as this. LeKrista, especially, is the epitome of a perfect heroine. She is strong and sassy as ever, and I LOVE her. She managed to keep me laughing even in the darkest corners of this book. I adored every minute of this novel! Even if you are sick to death of vampires, you should give this one a shot!

P.S. Cover love. Hullo. *heart-eyes*

Tyffani Clark Kemp started this book beautifully by introducing you to LeKrista. You can identify with the heroine LeKrista because she is just a “regular” girl, she isn’t rich, drop dead gorgeous, size 0, or have a glamorous modeling job. She hates her job and those she works with and is living a boring life, it seems, so it’s interesting when she meets the vampires.

LeKrista kills Lucretious and her life will never be the same. Now his girlfriend wants LeKrista dead so Roman gives her his protection. There are twists and turns with LeKrista’s relationship with Roman and also her boyfriend Pierce that keep you turning the pages.

I loved this book and couldn’t wait for the second to come out. You should definitely read this series.

This book was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review.

This book is fantastic & highly addictive

It is packed full of action that will have you hooked right to the very end and then some, after reading this I immediately bought Hunted the second book and now, I am eagerly awaiting the third
The story was a little confusing at times as the pace was so fast and I would have liked a little more back ground on the characters but this in no way makes the book any less enjoyable

Beware both books end on cliffhangers that will have you pulling your hair and will have you picking sides with the men in LeKrista's life. I highly recommend this book , you won't be disappointed!

Team Roman all the way!!

***I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.***

I actually really enjoyed this book. In the beginning I was a little unsure if I was going to connect to it but once I got to 30% I really started enjoying the story and was addicted by the time I ended it.

I love Roman, I know I shouldn't but the chemistry between him and LeKrista was so FUN! I mean I love Pierce too, but Roman was like icing on the cake of the story.

The other characters were great too...Adelina and Calliope and Tate and Miranda. I'm excited to see what will become of LeKrista.

I hope to hear more from this author soon!

DNF. Made it halfway through the book, which is more than I thought I would be able to do before calling it quits. This author really needs to learn the difference between showing and telling! I did appreciate the inclusion of a WOC, disabled lead, which is why I picked up the Kindle copy in the first place. However, the storytelling just fell flat--maybe it was the fact that it's yet another vampire story, or maybe it was just the clunky first-person narrative (seriously, show, don't tell! Writing a Story 101, folks).

Overall, meh. Glad I gave it a shot, though.

I received this book as a gift from the author. What an intriguing twist to the vampire genre. It captured your attention from the very first page and continued to the last page. I loved LeKrista's character, I found her engaging and entertaining. The chemistry between her and Roman was electric. The twists and turns kept you on the edge of your seat. I can't wait to start Hunted. Keep up the great work Tyffani!!! :)

An unusual Vampire story.

An unusual Vampire story.

I'm not sure what the Scorned is from. The relationship with Pierce or Roman. I felt like I was left hanging. I wanted more. Seems like LaKrista & Pierce were just going through the motions until Roman came along. Not sure I buy the no sex till marriage when they sleep together. There are hints that Pierce is some kind of shifter, or mage. The story just didn't tie together for me. I give it 3 ***.

I got this book for free and you know what it wasn't a bad little number in fact I would go as far as to say it was great and I have already bought the second one. It was a light read but Tyffani really tried hard to come up with something other than the usual falling in love at first sight with some gorgeous vampire. Give it a go you just might like it.

Better than expected

Thought it wouldn't be as funny nor interest grabbing as it was. Some parts could have done without, the one women caught between two men, but good start to a series.
