4 Stars! Clever, Witty, Steamy!!
Lots of story in this amusing sexy short! Great writing, funny dialogue and in so few pages, the author managed to pull off a story that felt complete! My hope is that this is going to be a continuing series. I would love to visit with Seth and Camille again...oh, and Irsa too, even though she's the evil entity...she was very entertaining!

Sexy little story about an immortal warrior who works for the Archangel Michael. His contract is completed and one more mission and he can become mortal again. Defeat the succubus who wants to seduce him. Oh yeah and she has taken over the body of your sexy neighbor that you have been lusting after. I really enjoyed this spicy little book and cant wait to read the next one.

A unique short story that manages to contain quite a bit of depth despite it's limited length. The characters come alive, and though we don't necessarily get to know all of them well as individuals, still the author manages to make you care about them and what happens to them. Even the Succubus becomes fairly human-seeming and someone that the reader can sympathize with and feel some pity for perhaps.
In a somewhat unusual twist, the man is the focus character of this story, and is the character we get to know the best. While his characterization doesn't give many insights into his personality, we do get to learn a fair bit about what his rather long life has been like, and the weariness that he feels is entirely palpable. What would it be like to have spent 1500+ years battling demons with hardly ever a break in the action? Exhausting is only the first of many words that comes to mind I think, and that exhaustion of mind and body that Seth is feeling comes through clearly despite his level of resolve in dealing with the succubus. It doesn't take long to start hoping he'll eventually earn the respite he's somewhat promised will come once this "assignment" is over.
Camille, Seth's human neighbor, object of his desires, and host for Isra, the succubus, is never really well defined for us as an individual. She's a sweet, proper, Southern woman who does her best to act like a lady and, in her own words, be the kind of woman a man would want to take home to momma and to marry. Does this sweet, relatively chaste demeanor survive being possessed by the succubus? Well, you'll have to read the story to find out the answer to that question. The most I'll say here is that she does learn a few things during her ordeal I think.
I had expected this story to be a lot steamier than it actually is. While it does open up with a fairly hot dream sequence, the rest of the story is relatively tame with very little action aside from the succubus' various attempts to seduce Seth. There is sexy/dirty talk and suggestive/seductive behavior aplenty, but very little actual contact between them. But then, the main point of the bulk of the story is that Seth has to avoid contact with Camille/Isra for the 24 hours that Isra will be in possession of Camille's body. While I think there could have been a lot more steam involved while staying within that premise, the tactics that the author has Seth adopt make a lot more sense really and end up being a lot more believable.
Overall this is a good little story, well written, and with a satisfying amount of depth to the characters and events given the limitations of the length. My main quibble here would be with the ending, which comes a bit abruptly. A little more resolution to the whole situation would have been nice, as a few issues are left unresolved at the end. Perhaps they are things that will be addressed in other books of the series, or perhaps we're simply meant to fill in the blanks on our own. Whatever the case, this story is worth a read. It probably won't change your worldview or anything terribly important or momentous like that, but it will entertain you for an hour or so I think.

Having just finished reading the revised version, I was pleased to note that the author has extended the ending, giving us just enough more to tie up the loose ends that had been left before so that the story truly feels complete now. I like that she didn't drag it out more than necessary, just gave us another hot scene to enjoy and then gave us a brief epilogue of sorts so that we know what became of everyone involved and how things worked out for them. Definitely a recommended read for anyone looking for a mildly hot short to fill a bit of time with.

UPDATE: Dec 3rd, 2012 - My review below was originally published on November 14th, 2012. Since then the author has generously sent me a revised copy. I just finished reading it and Holy wow! I loved it. Originally I found the ending very disappointing and it lacked proper closure, thus earning it a 3-3.5 Star rating from me. Well, the ending is no longer disappointing. Far from it! Not only did Ms Laurence give Seth and Caroline what they desired most, but she did it with a sizzling hot, "I've got a white-knuckled grip on my Kindle" scene. She could have stopped there, but I also got a very satisfying ending with a chuckle-worthy ending. Bloody well done, Ms Laurence! I feel this is now a well rounded novella with (sweet) humor and sexy to boot. I'd read this again, and again. Therefore, my rating is going up - 4.5 rounded up to 5.

Weary from battling demons for the the past fifteen hundred years, Seth is presented with the opportunity to be released from his contract with the Archangel Michael. As with most good things, there is a catch. Michael requires his services for one last assignment. A succubus has targeted the immortal warrior to steal his semen and life force, and therefore his immortality. if an incubus were to use that semen to impregnate a human woman, the child would be half human and half demon, a cambion. A cambion would be practically indestructible. To further complicate matters, the succubus is using Seth’s sexy neighbor as its host.
This short story was laced with a lot of cheeky dialogue, mostly spilling from Seth’s lips. Not since Samantha from Sex and the City have I heard the word “spunk” being used. For some reason I just find that word quite funny.
Adding to the quirkiness of this story is the back and forth between Camille and the succubus Isra who took over her body. One good voice, and one … well see for yourself.
Isra’s plan of seduction and theft go awry when he gets the drop on her. Her 24 hours are running out fast. Resisting Isra’s tempting words and her blatant displaying of Camille’s assets has never been so hard. Well, something is hard.
As the hours tick by, you’re left to constantly guess “will he?” or “won’t he?” At times it seems like perhaps Isra is just a victim of her circumstances and deep down she could be a good demon. With his life at stake, can he resist the wicked temptation?
On a heat scale between 1 and 5, I’d have to give this a 2.5. Due to Isra’ confinement, the seduction was mostly visual and vocal. The little bit of actual body contact was probably only mind-blowing for Seth, but not me. I wasn’t as caught up in the moment as he was. I was really disappointed with the ending. The story built up to this huge expectation that didn’t happen. After everything the hero and heroine had been through, I’d have wanted them to share a little more than a kiss and a dinner invitation. I honestly liked the flow, the characters and the humor, but I’m deducting points for the unfulfilled ending. This was a 3-3.5 for me.

Woo hoo hello Seth. This was a really enjoyable short sexy read. I liked the characters and the plot was interesting and entertaining.
Seth and Camille had a good chemistry that stood out from the start, even Isra and Seth.

This novella rocks! The characters drew me in immediately. An immortal warrior battling a sexy succubus...how could you go wrong? Sexy, intriguing and full of tension, you won't be able to put this one down.

I am NOT a reader of the sci-fi genre, but this was REALLY good!! I read it in one day and I rarely do that anymore! Granted, it was a short read, but it kept me interested until the very end. I may have to continue with this series!

My Thoughts:
Sexy As Hell: A More Than Men Novella briefly chronicles the life of Seth, an immortal warrior, dispatched by the Archangel Michael to dispel evil in it's many form from the earth. Seth has been at the warrior game for over 1500 years and he just wants to rest...and maybe to find a good woman in the process. Enter his neighbor Camille. Camille is a beautiful southern belle who Seth can't seem to take his eyes or mind off of. He wants her but stays away from her because he doesn't want the evil that is his work to taint someone so beautiful. Well, as unluck would have, evil targets Seth, using Camille as a lure. Seth enters a dangerous waiting game that just might cost him his soul and Camille's life.
Although Sexy as Hell had a low page count, the story itself made a high impact. The characters were clearly defined and their motives were clear as was their stake in the battle of wits, lives, and souls. Even Isra was portrayed in a multidimensional manner that showed that she was capable of being more than just an assassin demon. She was actually a bit likable in her own unique way. I enjoyed seeing Seth and Camille come together at the end of the story to unleash their hidden passions on each other. The smexy scene was genuine (although short...boo :) and played out in an uncontrived manner.
Ms. Laurence has a winning opener for what looks to be a promising novella series. Brava!

Last night I got to read a quick little novella. What's better than having demons and angels for October? I mean it's perfect for this time of year. Or if you love novellas with angels and demons year round. So, if you are looking for something quick to read angels and demons look no further.
For centuries Seth has been in the service of the Archangel Michael. After so many centuries, Michael has offer him a way out of his contract. Yet, there's a catch. Don't you hate that when there's a catch?
His last duty assignment is to catch the succubus Isra, who has taken over his neighbor Camille's body. Which sucks for him, because he has a crush on Camille for months. Isra's job is to suck the life force out of Seth and create a spawn using Camille. Sucks to be Seth. Hopefully he can resist the temptation in the form of Camille.
Overall, I liked this quick read. I mean it was entertaining to watch the angel and demon to spar off. Especially, when Isra uses her sexual arsenal to try to catch Seth. Then you have Camille who is a spectator through out this whole mess. All she has to do is sit and watch for 24 hours, then she can have her body back as long as Isra doesn't win. Another thing I like about this novella was it was broken down with time, instead of chapters. Which made this story unique and you got to read the the different hours where stuff happens.
As I said early this a quick read and entertaining. It's worth the read, when you need something short. So, come on and check this story out. I leave you today and I hope you are enjoying what your reading.

Sexy As Hell was.... Well, sexy as hell.
Seth is an immortal warrior sent by the Archangel Michael to rid the world of demons. In this novella Seth's knowledge of demons and women will be put to the test as he goes up against a Succubus.
Camille is just trying to find a man to love her, but never did she imagine that being inhabited by a Succubus would bring her the man of her dreams. Throughout this book you constantly get blasted by the heat these two share, and by the need to fight the pull of the succubus's wiley ways.
The only peeve with this book was that the ending didn't feel as picture perfect as it should have been, in my opinion the last sentence was confusing. Other than that slight hitch I couldn't help but read this book from start to finish in one sitting. Also I absolutely loved the erotic nature of the relationship between Camille, Seth and Isra the Succubus.
I loved that the author made this story seem huge even though it had very few pages. I felt as if I got to know the characters better than I have in any other full length novel.
If you enjoy short, sweet and smokin' novellas this is the one for you!

This little novella plunges you right into the action on the first page. An interesting combination of Heaven's enforcer and a demon from Hell. And a woman both of them want for different reasons.
Camille is Seth's next door neighbour, a sweet little southern gal from Georgia or the like. Seth has been fantasising about her for a while now but with his job, dealing with the forces of darkness, he's hardly likely to be a good life partner for a girl who likes frills and keeps a teddy bear on her bed.
Until succubus Isra comes along with a plan to suck the very life from Seth and use his attachment to Camille to achieve it.
Thus begins an eventful 24 hours in all their lives where Seth learns his limits, Isra learns to love Pizza and Camille learns a whole lot of useful things for the future.

What a difference a day makes!
Upping my original 4star review to a 4.5star review upon authors revisions.
First things First – I was provided a free copy of this novella in exchange for an honest review. The title is pretty on target and tells you most of what you need to know about this fun short. Immortal warrior Seth is at a crossroads and is tempted by his almost irresistible neighbor Camille who has been overtaken by the succubus Isra.
From the opening scene which grabs your “nethers” (and has you grabbing your own companion) to the final scene that has you smiling, you’re part of the fantasy and battle of wills that this lustful triangle offers. It was surprising how much characterization was put in so few pages and not one of them wasted or extraneous. The pacing, plot and storyline do their part to keep you invested and have you anxious to see how the story ends and at the same time dreading the ending because that means this ride is over. The delicious ending ensured no one was left out as everything was wrapped neatly.
I was intrigued enough by the writing style and the premise to look for more from this indie treasure!

Sexy as hell makes a great short read for any paranormal romance reader.
Seth is the oldest immortal warrior that fights Demons. He was turned immortal by Michael the Archangel right before his death, but he has to serve as his warrior and fight demons. The downside to becoming immortal is that lust was not taken away the same way as his mortality was. Now he lust for his neighbor and friend Camille. But she has been possessed by a succubus and he has to keep the succubus from killing him or Camille.
Camille is Seth's neighbor and has been a good friend. She wants to be more than that but she doesn't know how, she thinks that acting like what a man would want to take home to his mother is the best way to get him. But now she has been possessed by a succubus that wants to seduce and destroy Seth.
The book was a great short read, but like many short reads it kept me wanting more. I hope that there are more books to come. :)

Sexy as Hell by Andrea Laurence sure lives up to its name. It's a short story, a novella really but it grabs your attention from the start. It tells the tale of Seth, who is currently immortal and works for Michael, the Archangel, battling demons. Michael tells Seth his identity has been compromised. The devil is sending a ringer to battle him. They are sending an incubus and she took over his neighbor Camille's body. Bad news, Seth has fantasized about her. This makes it a little tough. The devils objective is to get the moral impregnated with Seth's Selene and a new demon called a cambion. Of course this met Seth's death. The demon inhabiting Camille is named Israel. Discover how Seth gets out of this tricky situation.

Really good short story, definitely and interesting spin on demon slayers, angels and demons. Of course who would not love a sexy man who fights on the side of good. Seth finally has a chance at a normal life but his final assignment may be one of the hardest he's ever had, and a his chance may just slip away. Temptation is very hard to overcome, especially when it's dangled in your face lol. The story definitely pulls you in, you want to see what happens and who wins. Good or Evil?

An interesting novella that took us in a new direction. The aim... to not let the succubus Isra seduce Seth.
I liked the characters. Seth was determined, smart and eager to get his life back. We didn't really see much of Camille but she was very confident. Isra was a most pleasant surprise to me though. I love how you couldn't just dismiss her as the evil character.
The cover art and the ending was great.

24 hours might not seem like a long time, but when you're forced to spend it with a succubus who is pulling out all stops to seduce you, and it's resist or die...well, let's hope you like the color blue, Seth. :)
Liked Seth, the demon hunter who will never, ever sign a contract again without reading the fine print. Loved Isra, the tricky succubus with a passion for central air. :)

I was pleasantly surprised by this! I didn't think I could get into paranormal romance, but this one held me captive from start to finish! I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants passion & mystery folded into one!

Angels and demons, succubi and souls, immortals and the girl next door, fantasy and fun, teasing and torment; you'll find them all in this straight paranormal romance. It is sexy and explicit without being pornographic and gross; erotic without a sense of the story coming second to the sex. If sexy immortals float your boat, this might be the M/F novella for you.

This was a pretty good story. I liked the characters and it's an enjoyable short story.
Seth is a good guy. He made a deal with the Archangel Michael 1500 years ago in which he agreed to fight demons and the like for Micheal in exchange for immortality. After all this time, Seth is beginning to get tired of the constant fights and wishes he wasn't immortal any more. He's attracted to his next door neighbor but never felt free to approach her because of his life. When he finds out he's eligible to become mortal again, he's very interested. The only problem is that a Succubus has targeted the next door neighbor Seth is attracted to, Camille, and is possessing her in order to get to Seth. He has to take care of this issue and try to save Camille.
Camille is a nice Southern lady. She's a sweet woman that's not very experienced with men. She's attracted to her next door neighbor, Seth, but he's never asked her out and she's too shy to ask first. Unfortunately for Camille, she gets possessed by a Succubus that's intent on taking Seth's soul.
Seth has to avoid being captivated by the Succubus in Camille for 24 hours and then the demon will go back to Hell and Camille will be safe. This isn't as easy as he'd hoped as the demon is very tricky and seductive. Fortunately, Seth is able to come up with a good plan that keeps him from setting her free of giving in to her even if he wants to. Things don't go perfectly but Seth is able to resist and the demon is sent back to hell. Once Camille is back to herself, she proceeds to show Seth just how much she likes him and wants him. They have a hot celebration and start seeing each other seriously once Seth becomes mortal again.
This was a pretty good story. I liked Seth and Camille seemed nice (although we don't get to know her very well since a good portion of the story she's possessed). Since it's a short story it wasn't very in-depth but it was still enjoyable and worth the read. :D

I'm kind of torn on the rating I want to give this, so I am going with 3.5. This was basically a good story from an author I had never read before and so wanted to try at least once. The characters are not fully defined as to who they are and the story does not seem fully realized. I wanted more about what was actually going on and maybe some background on the characters that we meet so abruptly with only minimal explanation. The dialogue works well and at least makes them feel like a part of the world.
Seth was about to die when he was given the choice of becoming immortal and working for the Archangel Michael or facing his fate. For fifteen hundred years he has fought demons and sent them back to hell as an immortal warrior in the service of Michael but things are about change. Seth is being targeted by a succubus who has managed to find him and knows who is and wants to take his soul. The problem is that the temptation is going to almost more than he can resist.
The sex scenes were nice but not really hot as I expected. I liked Seth but would not have felt totally let down if he had died. ...like seeing a big, strong man pushed to his breaking point.
...don't mind wondering if said strong man was going to make one mistake too many.
...umm, yeah, that's all I got.
For being such a badass warrior, Seth sure makes some boneheaded mistakes with this succubus. In fact, I was almost rooting for her to win because she didn't seem all bad (despite wanting to steal his immortal man-jam) and Seth did some lame ass things around her.
