Demons, faeries, and mermaids. Claws, teeth, and nightmares.

They have been beaten and bruised, set on fire, and nearly drowned, but manage to always find their way home. Over their last Winter Holiday break before college, Shayna, Jodi, and Steven try again to put aside the magic in their lives for a little mundane fun. But Shayna's mother is having dreams of fire and death. A mysterious stranger by the name of Liam has just arrived in town. And Shayna's attempts to manage her new angelic powers are set back by Steven's insistence that the trio intervene in a riot outside of a concert, with disastrous consequences.

In her attempt to stop the riot, a man sees Shayna use her magical abilities – a man driven mad by watching his brother die at the hands of a black witch. He stalks Shayna, plotting to destroy her and her friends. With her mother’s warnings echoing in her mind, Shayna is now in the fight of her life against an unlikely foe: a human man.

Like so many other writers, Shauna grew up as an avid reader, but it was in high school that she realized she wanted to be a writer. She released the first installment of her Paranormal YA Series, The Elemental Series, Earth, on May 1, 2011 and has since released four sequels, with the series coming to an end with Spirit. In December of 2013 she release the first in her Paranormal Post-Apocalyptic trilogy, World of Ash. She is currently hard at work on one too many projects, trying to organize the many voices in her head. It's a writer thing.

I have read and enjoyed this series right from the very start. I was so excited to be a part of the Fire blog tour. I feel like I have really gotten to know Steven, Shayna and Jodi over these 4 installments of the Elemental Series. I love this series. Shauna Granger consistently puts out quality books, and what I really love about her stories is that she always brings something new and unique to each book. Even though the basic premise stays the same, three friends each with a different elemental power learn magic, there are subplots and intricacies and new characters and new creatures. I feel like I could continue to read stories about them and never get bored.

Fire starts out with a bang, err fire I guess. Each of the books follows a different element and fire is Steven's element. I was so excited to see him step up and take a more central role. I love steven so much. I feel so bad for him sometimes. I think he is too hard on himself. Plus he is an amazing friend to Jodi and Shayna. Fire actually fascinates me, but I know it is super hard to contain, so it's also scares me a lot. So I kind of got a kick out of reading about it. I could totally imagine Steven standing the in forest surrounded by fire completely fascinated.

I'll admit that I was a little bit nervous that Shayna was going off the deep end at the start of the story. She seemed power hungry in the opening sequence in the forest. But ultimately, her friends made me feel more at ease about her initial behavior. They totally got why she did what she did, so I brushed it off as well. Plus I really like Shayna because she is so awesome and intuitive, and I like the character growth I've seen from book 1. Everyone has really progressed as a character, and when I read a series this is something that I look for and something that makes me really happy as a reader. I loved the new addition of the angel stuff, that was so cool. I actually forgot about it from when I read book 3 so I was super excited when I saw it pop up in Fire.

Fire and the Elemental series overall are great reads for fans of elemental magic. The detail that Shauna puts into her books is amazing. It really makes the story. I feel like I have repeated myself over and over again from my reviews of books 2 and 3, so I will just end with this. If you like magic, read the elemental series by Shauna Granger.

HOLY FIRE GODS!

First I have to say that I love this series so so much! I have read every book since the beginning and I have to say that Shauna is an amazing writer whose books keeps getting better and better. Following Shayna, Jodi, and Steven's stories has been such a ride for me. We have been introduced to a new world where demons and all sorts of evil lurk in the background just waiting for an opportunity to come out and cause havoc on this small town. The trio is not having any of that and that is where the story gets great because the trio is willing to do anything to save their town and they are at times afraid to face the evil but in the end they face it and know that they have done the right thing.

In Fire we get Steven's story and boy oh boy can I tell you I just love Steven to pieces. He has grown so much in these books and he has finally come into his element of Fire and he is learning to master it. Steven has a heart of gold and in this story that is what gets him and the gang into trouble. They are at a concert when something happens and the three of them use their elemental powers to save the day and a guy is watching them and when he sees what they have done he is furious. The man has lost his brother to magic and he wants revenge. He wants to rid the world of magic and evil as he says it took his brother from him.

Soon the man is stalking Shayna and the three of them have to stop this psycho before he hurts anyone. But in doing this the three of them will have to come together and Steven will have to control his element and use it against the evil that is out there trying to destroy them. Can Steven save the day? Will he have mastered his element enough to make a difference? Man you have to read Steven's story because the ending will have you shocked! I love reading the end because I am always in awe with the lessons they learn and what they walk away with.

So come along and follow the story and dive into an EPIC series! Thanks Shauna for writing such an EPIC world for me to read!

I received a review copy in exchange for participating in the blog tour. All opinions are my own.

Once again I find myself sacrificing sleep in order to devour another of Shauna Granger's amazing books in the fabulous Elemental series. Unfortunately for us fans, this is the fourth and next to last installment with only one more book planned. Boo!

I find it hard to write reviews because I tend to want to explain everything that I've just read, but that spoils it for others and that's not fair to readers nor Ms. Granger. So please forgive me if I'm a bit vague on details as I want you to experience this book for yourself.

Shayna...I've come to love her so much, even if she can be a bit annoying at times. She pushes your buttons and pushes you to search within yourself and BE a better person. To live up to your full potential. In the beginning Steven does something stupid and I was really surprised Shayna didn't kick him in the butt. There's a scene where they're at a concert that was a bit hot without even being explicit...Shauna//Shayna paints the scene and you're able to see it in your mind's eye and follow along, nearly wishing you were there with them to experience such a heady and sensuous dance.

To save others, they unfortunately are seen by someone who has lost their sibling to black magic. Now he wants to kill Shayna, Jodi, and Steven. It's been a long time coming, but Steven finally figures out his potential and has to master his craft. Can he do it? Steven has always warred with the Catholic religion he grew up with and his Element.

I can't tell you how privileged I feel to get to read this series. I laughed, I cried, I sighed, I nearly bit my nails off...definitely a must read if ever there was.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is the most intense installment yet. Shayna’s struggles with her angelic powers bring new layers of spiritual weight, and the introduction of a very human, very dangerous antagonist changes the tone in a chilling way. The themes of paranoia, justice, and vengeance add a raw edge, and the riot scene is particularly powerful. Granger doesn’t shy away from pain—emotional and physical—and it makes the consequences feel real. The tension between trying to live a normal life and being drawn into constant magical conflict is stronger than ever. Fire feels like the moment where innocence burns away, and the heroine fully steps into who she’s becoming.
