The Vision was the best book in the series so far. I mean right now, after finishing the book, my emotions are all over the place. Gemma/Alex in this book was perfect. We see their true feelings for each other and how their relationship changes in this book. And most of the time I was fangirling hard over these two. Would it be too weird if I told you I actually felt the electricity between them? And also, Gemma becomes more confident in this book. And I loved it. I mean, she actually grows up in this book. She makes her own decisions and tries to be the person she was meant to be. And this is really hard for Alex. Because he always wants to protect her, but he learns that he can't. Sometimes he has to let her go, and in this book, he does. And their relationship comes to a whole different level. Oh god, how I loved it. Anddd.. . Another thing that I loved, really really loved in this book was how we saw the true Aislin. She has this dark side, the witch side of her which her father taught her well to hide under all those pink dresses. And Gemma realizes maybe they aren't really so different. I felt really bad for Aislin, I mean, she was taught to hide who she really is, and it must be really hard, I mean being a witch is in her blood right? And another thing I love is that in this book the thing between Laylen and Aislin is a little bit clarified in this book. Which I love. Oh, and I love Laylen! He is so broken, it breaks my heart. I am really happy for him, because now he is really really good friends with Gemma and things are getting better with Aislin and spoiler: I loved this book, it was by far my favorite, and I'm really hoping there will be a happy ending in the last book, aka The Promise!

So. Either this book is way shorter than the first two, or i read super fast. I really enjoyed this book (as well as the first two) but this one just felt more rushed. And - im not sure if this is the same with the actual book - but there were a lot of random question marks at the end of sentences...

So that annoyed me.

But, something else that annoyed me was the fact that there seems to be nothing with Laylen and Gemma. What is up with that?? I thought after the whole biting thing there would be something... But no.

I was also so sad when Nicholas died. He`s annoying and everything, but its funny, and i don't think he should have died. And then at the end it gets all complicated by him not really being dead...?

At the end of the second book, i was like omg she is stuck in a cabin thing on her own and will like die, this is so interesting!!
But it only lasted for a chapter. And i still don't understand how she got out of there...

I also noticed a lot of "one two three" moments in the book, but that may just be me being weird.

However, no matter how weird, random, unfair and rushed it is;
It was still a great book to me.

Giving up.
The Main charcacter is getting on my nerves. She only thinks about herself-
Gemma: you lied to ME. Alex: To save your live.
Gemma: have to save MY mom. Alex: You could die, think of a plan.
Gemma: I'm mad you have an ex have to make sure she is not
prettier than ME. Alex: Don't come she could kill you.

Gemma: I love you. Alex: Being with you, would kill you.
Gemma: don't you care about ME. Alex: ......

Gemma: Kiss ME.
They kiss.WTF, giving up.

I don't normally review series as a whole, or the whole series, but this one I just had to. This author is a genius, literally a genius. One word to sum up my thoughts for this series is: OBSESSED. I read all four of these books in four days, they were that good.

At first I thought the series was going to be a bit cheesy, with the end of the world bit and all, but instead I ending up loving it. There were so many new concepts put into play like tattoos for different beings (foreseers, keepers, vampires, witches, immortals, etc.) I found myself overwhelmed at first, but Sorensen explained everything so perfectly that I fell into the world of Gemma.

Gemma is one of those characters that grow on you. I found her a tad starnge at first because she said that she lived without emotions for her whole life. I wanted to just say "Hold up, how is that even possible?" but I found myself becoming very attached to Gemma and her fate. I did find myself becoming frustrated at her when she just kind of swooned over the jerk that was mean to her in the beginning, but throughout the series she became the kind of heroine that I love to see succeed. I wish that I had as much spunk and bravery that she does by the end of the series. Alex is another character that I found myself loving, despite his jerk able characteristics. I hated when he was a jerk to Gemma, but I understood everything and his actions as the story panned out. Laylen was another character that I wish I knew in real life. He was just a lost soul, but he was such a sweetheart.

The story itself is full of twists and turns that will leave you begging for me. I never got bored reading, and that is saying something since I do have a hint of ADD. I blazed through these books, as I am sure you will when you check this series out. I am so overwhelmed with obsession with these books and this author that I even have to use a gif, which I NEVER do. So here you go:

Clap. Clap. Clap.
...........

I have got to say Mrs. Sorensen you are definitely the QUEEN of Cliffhangers. No other series that I have read has ended in such a edge-of-your-seat cliffhanger like your books. Deep down I'm totally impressed though it'll take a while for that to come out since at the moment I find myself very annoyed, considering that this was supposed to be the last book of the series where the moment I've (ok ok we readers, at least I hope) have been waiting for. Which would be Gemma $ Alex finally being together withholding nothing from each other, but noooo you just have to cut the book short and leave your readers thirsty for more.

Anyway getting on with the story: I must say the beginning was a little slow and annoying considering all the questions and no answers, but that quickly changed by the middle. Though I am surprised that

I guess I'll only have the answer to that question and many more on the next book, which I will be awaiting anxiously.

Ahhh, this book was infinitely better than book 2 and back on par with book 1. I'm going to say it , makes me breathe a sigh of relief to know that going into book 4 this series didn't go downhill. There are still a ton pf unanswered questions, and for every answer we get two more questions, but I can feel it moving along. Book 2 was so stagnant at times, but this one moved along nicely. I was said that Alex felt he had to leave but I understand it. Its also jard to remember that Gemma is only 18, and that she is missing the last months of high school...not that it matters if the world ends or she dies...but it was just a random thought. I am really curious to see what powers she posses after all this is over...I can't really believe that she is going to die, because well...that would be a terrible ending and because of all the talk of loop holes...I just have to believe it will all work out and that she and Alex will have their forever.

I don't have a lot to say about this book because it's a filler book until the end of the series. This is about the time when I get frustrated that not enough people realize that a good book doesn't have to be split up into multiple sequential novels just because that's what you had planned. It's sort of the same feeling I have about movies that are from one book being split up into multiple sequential films. Just share the important information and forget about all the superfluous detail and give me more plot instead of biding your time! Anyway, I didn't enjoy this book as much as the rest in this series because of the filler effect, as I will now call it. Don't get me wrong, some interesting things did happen, but it seems like it was thrown in just to make this into a tetrology instead of a trilogy. Off to read the next one though!

Again a great follow up to the second book, it keeps you guessing throughout. When Nicholas dies I was so sad, he was one of my Favorite characters along with Gemma and Alex. However all was good when he came back in the end. He might be dead but at least he's there. I'm glad gemma's dad is there i think shell find a way to save him in the end. And they'll find a loophole. Even if they dont they die in eachothers arms which is so romantic. However i think they'll all survive and gemma and alex will get that life together forem.

Omgodness, I'm hooked.

This book was fantastic. I thought I really enjoyed The Underworld, but this book was THE BEST by far. It was fast-paced, the relationship between Alex and Gemma was so FREAKING fantastic and I'm left craving for more. What more can I ask in an series?

I cannot cannot cannot wait to see what happens in the next book, to be sure I will buy it as soon as it becomes available.

Ugh, the anticipation is killing, Jessica Sorensen, thank you for writing such an AMAZING series, I should have never doubted you!

A very genuine, 5 stars.

OMG I can't believe how the book ends!!!!!!! So good! I am very sad because I when I finished the book I realized it wasn't the last one, so i searched it on Google and figured out that the 4th and final book doesn't get published til March 24th! Definetely has a twisted ending. Jessica Sorenson is a very good author and I can't wait to read the Promise and the other series she is working on!

WOW! Is one word to sum up this amazing 3rd installment to the Fallen Star Series. I, in a way was very lucky to have discovered this series late, meaning I started the first one, only a month or so, before the 4th was due out. SO when I got hooked, I was able to download the rest, and keep reading. This one was also "on the edge of your seat" amazing.

Jessica Sorensen has really made Gemma a dynamic character as, looking back, I can see how she has morphed and changed into the strong willed young woman that every heroine should be.

Even though I was familiar with the storyline, I wasn't actually prepared for the emotions that hit me during this book. The Vision was probably the most emotional book out of the series (so far) because we see Gemma's and Alex's relationship on a whole new level. Even though they are trying to find a way to be together they are thrown a whole new line of obstacles that honestly leave you emotionally drained in a good way. I, yet again, could not put the book down (well, my kindle) I am truly am amazed at Jessica's writing style. I read lots of books, and can honestly say she is one of my favorite writers now.

I highly recommend this book, and the whole series. Its AMAZING! Be sure to read The Fallen Star and The Underworld before this one. Then the 4th one after this one The Promise

Make sure to check out my blog for more reviews and extras, will have author interviews there too.

Oral Assessment - Wide Reading

1.I decided to read this book because it a series and I started with The Fallen Star and got hooked into it, and when I finished the second book in two days I couldn’t wait to start the next book in the series.

2.I found the main character (Gemmas) dad interesting, as the book was about a new mission for Gemma to travel through a crystal ball and stop her dad from changing the vison that he was trapped for changing. Gemmas dad, Julian is an almighty powerful foreseer who had been trapped in his own mind for changing a vison, which is an incredibly bad thing to do amongst the foreseers

3.“I kept having these dreams, or maybe they were more like nightmares.” I like this quote because throughout the series, Gemmas character develops further and further. Gemma is faced with many consequences and after she realises who she really is from the first book in the series. She pictures terrifying and bad things all the time. She always doubts herself when she is faced with these challenges, and she cant forget about the horrible things she has faced.

4.Gemmas shown as a scared, confused girl but as you keep reading this book she starts to emerge as a strong leader, even though she is still afraid of the challenges and consequences and shows her fear. However with every new surprise she gains strength and bit more personality. This makes you think that even if you are faced with a lot of challenges in your life, you just need face them and let others know that you can get over challenging obstacles and once you get over them you would become and feel like a much stronger person than who you really are.

This book was so, so good. It answered alot of questions that I had. I wasnt ready for it to end though. I didnt want it to end the way that it did. I WANTED MORE!!!I am so happy there is one more book to this series. The storyline is still evolving. So thats a plus! This series isnt what I expected it to be. Its even better. I want to read more books by this author. She has done so good with this series.
With the characters they are still very strong. Overcoming so many hurdles and obstacles. Tackling so many new adventures. Nicholas however is very strange to me, like he doesnt quite fit in with the gang. So I dont know how they will have him end up. Gemma, Alex, Laylen and Aislin I am curious how they will be by the end of the story. I do want to know more about Aislin and Laylen. They havent told too much of their background. I love the characters Gemma and Alex. They are just so strong, especially Gemma she has come along way with not being able to feel. With who she really is. I cant wait to start the next book to see how it will all end.
Very Enjoyable, Great Storyline, Great paranormal young adult story. My first series by Jessica Sorenson and it has been so enjoyable!!!!

Read from 03/24/13 thru 03/28/13 all 6 books that has been released so far (The Fallen Star Series 1-4) *1 The Fallen Star, *2 The Underworld, *3 The Vision, *4 The Promise and then the continuation or spin off of the fallen star series goes into Fallen Souls *1 The Lost Soul. Then Shatter Promised Series- *1 The Shatter Promised Adult version of the Fallen Star Series where Gemma is 21 and Alex is 23 with a different twist.

I started reading this books a few days ago and just kept reading each book one after another and couldnt get enough of this Paranormal series. I read it in order to avoid any chaotic confusion. I cannot wait for the last book of The Lost Soul Series and 2 more books on the Shattered Promise series.

I love all the characters which include Gemma, Alex, Laylen, Ainsley, Nicholas, a lot of witches, feys, banshees, black angels, vampires, foreseers, etc. There is so much humor through out plus action, romance, kidnapping, supernatural powers, did I mention each book with a tremendous cliffhanger.....hope you enjoy!!

I honestly have no idea what to say about this. I'm sooooo mind fucked right now.

I'm going to state the obvious. I'm hurt and crying like a fucking baby because Alex is gone. :( He just left without saying a word.

I'm just really hoping that Aislin and Laylen get back together because I am seriously getting a love triangle vibe here, and let me tell you I'm not liking it one fucking bit.

And is it just me or did everybody forget about Aleesa? Hello, you have a 16 year old that's like a fucking 5 year old on the loose and no one is worried about that???

All I can say is that I'm just really anxious to figure out what the hell is going to happen. So I'm gonna end this review and just come back and edit later. Enjoy.

Oh, and good job, Jessica, for making it seem so fucking real.

5 stars. maybe from a personal taste i'd give it more like 4.75 but honestly this deserves the 5 rating. the growth of this story is amazing. It's a compelling read that keeps you engaged and encapsulated in the world. the author has shown so much growth between the first book and this one. all I can say is I'm hooked and can't wait to see where the final book and follow up series takes Gemma and Alex. one of my initial gripes with the series was how many different magical species there were and how it felt like it was kind of cluttered and confusing. but in this book and even the last I feel like you really get to know the magic system better and it becomes fascinating and exciting rather than confusing. this book also does an amazing job of building on the dynamic between the main group and individual characters. the stakes feel higher than ever as you see there true care for each other and feel their desperation to protect each other. the stakes are higher and the walls of danger are closing in leaving them with more experience and skill but resources and energy running low all as they dare to dream of a life after.

3.5 stars.

I originally had this at 4 stars but that was a tad generous.

I binged the first two super quick beginning of 2023 (they were both rereads). I then also read half The Vision in two-ish days... and then put it down for 11 months. I had to start it again... and then read the whole thing in three days.

It is VERY YA. I am still really enjoying the series, though. For a YA series, it has it flaws, but it is engaging and I still have no idea how it is going to end (but not in a way where I have no idea what's going on, if that makes sense???)

I have just seen that the next book is split POV, ugh. I should power through and finish it. Maybe I will, maybe I'll finish one of the other books that have been sitting on my currently reading shelf for 12+ months...

The plot has become less interesting to me now. I'm just not a big fan of stories that alter time. The relationships have become boring. It feels like there's a lot of missed opportunities to make them progress. The whole "we'll kill each other if we stay together" is such a buzz kill. Rather than create interesting tension, it just dampens the mood as well as any exciting potential of what could happen in any given scene where they're together.

And the dialogue is still terrible. All they have to say is "I don't know" and "I mean," and she still stammers whenever communication is important.

Great series

Alex understands that his father is a psychological madman. Gemma keeps going into and out of visions. She is captured and rescued. Henna goes to the underworld and rescued her mother. Things get strange when Gemma continues to have visions, one with her future and others with white only. So what does it all mean??

Stephan is coming for Alex, Laylan Gemma and a hidden sister they knew nothing of. Working together can help them and the world.

This series is fascinating and I will continue to read.

I really enjoy this series. You really have to read them in order though. There is so much that has happened that you really need that backstory. I feel bad for poor Gemma. She is constantly trying to save the world with less than clear information. Everyone seems to have an agenda and they never tell her everything that she needs to know. Plus, everything she does has a domino effect and leads to more issues. I am anxious to see what happens next.

Fallen Star book 3

Well, no one can accuse the story for being boring. There's always something going on. I'm still enjoying this series. There was a point I thought the words "nothing ever comes easy" was true to the point of absurdity, and I was not happy with Gemma's father never giving answers to ANY questions. Once the reason was explained, I found it was more clever than I had given Ms Sorensen credit. I really like her writing style and imagination.
On to the next one.

The characters were a bit more likeable in this book, but I was still frustrated because the plot never progresses. There is no point to any of it cuz we end up back in the same place, trying to stop the world from ending along with Alex & Gemma. We are constantly forced to re-read things people have said or done. Not sure I'll read the last book.

So overall this book was amazing. Loved the adventure and the twist and turns it takes. The only thing I have to say is that I am slightly disappointed that the character started to become more dependent and less smart as the story continued. Currently listeneing to the next story and so far it seems to be correcting that issue.

I was really into this story, way more than The Underworld. Gemma still annoys the hell out of me and quite frankly I don't think this is going to change considering there's only one book left in this series. I do love Sorensen's writing though and the world she's built really is immersive.
