In this third installment of the Half-Blood Princess Series, Sophia’s life is about to be changed forever. With Sage’s life in the balance Sophia must call upon power she never knew coursed through her. Secrets hidden come to light as she fights haunting dreams, memories of Sage’s past, and a dark prophecy seeming destined to come true that will change all involved.
I kind of like to think of myself as a normal lady living a semi normal life. I’m not sure that’s all that accurate; I have a sweet husband and two dogs-my girls- that I think of as my children. I grew up in Sonoma County, California and I never pictured myself moving. Funny because now I live in North Idaho and I love it here, I love the summers; camping, bar-b-ques with friends, and the farmers markets. I find the winter magical and love the snow. I started writing as a hobby. I’ve been one of those people who has been obsessed with the world of the paranormal for as long as I can remember. I self published my first book in August of 2011 at my husbands’ urging.
Sophia’s story was truly meant for me at the beginning. Now I love that I chose to share these characters with everyone who’s chosen to read about them. I love these characters. They hold a special part of me and represent the strength and knowledge that comes with never giving up. of course I’m biased.
As for me personally, I’m not one who ever really shared much of my own story, however not long ago I finally shared my story with the fans who followed my Facebook page Magen McMinimy Author Page so I figure my story is out there for the world to read so I might as well share it here . . .
Like I said I grew up in California, I was born in Santa Rosa, Ca on April 19th 1983, I had a simple and pretty good childhood with a rather great family. I have wonderful parents and a pretty great sister( I didn’t always think so as I was growing up, but now I know the simple pleasures of having a sister as my best friend, she also gave me my nephew Asher who I adore). When I was nine I was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis, I was fortunate enough that it didn’t affect any of my major organs, but on the flip side of that it was in my eyes.
When I was around the age of twelve, I was given the diagnosis of secondary glaucoma. At thirteen I had my first in a fairly long line of surgeries to help control the pressures and remove the cataracts in my eyes.
When I turned twenty-one I took the first step of a major life change and moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. I left a lot of amazing friends and an amazing extended family. I met my now husband a few months after the move and was married to him in June of 2006. In 2008 I finished college and became a wedding planner. I love a good party and I live to decorate and make things beautiful and amazing for those around me.
In April of 2010 I woke up one morning with no vision in my right eye, I got an appointment with a specialist and found out I had blood vessels growing in the back of my eye that led to nowhere and were steadily bleeding. I underwent treatments and we got the bleeding under control and eventually stopped completely. But not before some major damage had been done. My doctor got me on the road to getting some help and I work each day with a small amount of remaining vision in my left eye.
So why do I tell you all of this? I tell you all because this is who I am, and those of you taking the time to read this have probably read at least one of my books and because of that you’ve helped to make this dream of writing and reaching out to others who love books, and vampires, and shifters and all things gorgeous and sexy . . . come true!
Life is a constant balance of what we want and what we need. It's also a lot like a Battle. A battle that we all have to fight in our own way. I chose to try and love and cherish every minute that I get to chase my crazy dreams and create a world and characters to get lost in.
Shadowed Memories is book three in Author Magen McMinimy’s Half-Blood Princess series, and is by far the most awesome.
Half-Blood Princess Sophia Daletsky’s life has changed dramatically since resurrecting Sage from the dead, discovering that the two of them are connected by an ancient prophecy that will determine not only their future, but also the future of everyone around them.
Time starts to run out as a new enemy makes itself known, determined to steal away from Sophia and Sage two things that they are willing to die for: their twin children.
With this new enemy coming closer to steal away the twins, Sophia and Sage bring together all of their friends, family, and allies to stop this menace from destroying the entire world.
Fast-paced, action filled, and passionate, Shadowed Memories is by far my favorite out of the series. Sophie has decided to become romantically involved with Sage, a minor character in book one and a pivotal character in book two. This causes tension between some of their friends, but Sophia handles it all like a champ and smacks a few heads to get things straight haha! Magen McMinimy has done it again with this book and I look forward to reading book four!
This is another 5 star book. I love this story as it brought to light the Sage and Sophia’s relationship. From the other books you get a slight mention of them, and how they are friends, but really you don’t get to know that Sage loves Sophia, yes I know that is sort of a spoiler, but it’s important. Sage is the sweetest man ever. He is also honorable and kept him feelings towards Sophia to himself because she was promised to his brother Ash.
From book two when the group does battle, Sage ends up being killed. Sophia totally goes crazy and uses black magic to bring him back. This is when Sage realizes that Sophia is his love Sofie, from his past, reincarnate.
There is a bit more drama, and most of you will hate Rachel, because she acted totally immature and childish, but eventually she gets better and you’ll forgive her.
In this you find out about the prophecy that ends up being true, and involves all of the main characters and brings quite a twist to the series. You will not want to miss it. The only thing I will say is that Sophia gives birth to twins who are extremely powerful.
I can’t even really decide which out of the three that I have read so far that I like the most from this series. It seems each one get progressively better, and added more and more intriguing characters. I still highly recommend these books and if you love paranormal romance vampire style you cannot go wrong with The Half-Blood Princess Series.
I thought that the first two books in the series wete amazing, but this one left me absolutely speechless! first of all Sofia has really come into her own and blossomed. Finally she realized that sometimes you have to think about yourself and forget about what everyone else thinks. My next rave is about Sage! I want to know where to find a devilishly handsome man to love like he does. so much passion and caring. He is strong, witty, sexy and just overall amazing. He is every womans dream. This is the best plot so far. That is really saying a lot because I loved the first books to death. The whole series is turning out to be ones that you just can't put down!!!! I really enjoyed watching the relationships between the supporting characters and group of friends. it really added and drew the reader into the story even deeper. Editing is superb, the flow is fast paced but detailed. I am telling you one read. Overall, this is an uber-amazing read...one you can't stop.once you take that first step. I recommend this book for.ages 18+ due to some intense scenes. This series is one of those types that you want to revisit over and over.
This book was provided from the author in exchange for honest literary review.
The intriguing story of Sophia and her friends become even more interesting in the third installment of the Half-Blood Princess series.
I was finding this story to be a bit disappointing at the beginning of this book. It seemed a bit slow compared to the previous two books. But it quickly picked up as the plot takes a sharp turn and Sophie finds herself, dealing with quite a few unexpected surprises.
The romance in Sophie’s life takes a drastic turn that at first was very disturbing until we learn about some secrets from the past. This book concentrates a bit more on the romance than the previous books, but it still tastefully done and contributes a lot to the story. The characters evolve even more as they become even more important to the plot and more turmoil is introduced into the mix.
This book of the series makes a pivotal turn in Sophie’s story, and keeps you guessing what’s next. As one conflict ends, another is introduced, and the reader is drawn even farther into this very interesting and promising chapter of the Princess’ life.
This novella has totally thrown me for a loop...in a completely good way! I feel like the author really hits her stride with this story. There's so much going on with the story line, but it's all very fluid. I love the "witchy" direction that Sophia is headed towards! I also love that she's learned to recognize the different types of love she can feel for the guys that have been a part of her life. I don't want to share any spoilers...So I'll just say I was thrilled with her choice in this novella!!! I am officially hooked!!!
Book three, like the others pick up right where they had left off, and I have to say wowza! I love love love Sage! I was giddy because I was never on team Dante, he was just a little too serious for my taste, but yummy Sage has it all, including a great sense of humor! I felt like they had more chemistry than Dante and her in the entire other two books. The twists just keep coming though, and I didn’t see the prophecy coming. All in all the book was addicting, i couldn't put it down.
Yup, still love Magen's world, and totally love Sage and Sofia. Dante seemed to give up so easily after being sort of a prick in the last book but it works out well. Sofia and Sage just belong together. Ash doesn't see like such a bad guy now. I'm really curious to know more about Sofia's dad. Love the whole cast. I can't wait to have time to finish off the rest of the series. I definitely recommend this to Vampire and paranormal lovers.
Certainly still dealing in the unexpected. Sophia and Sage renewed a connection that neither knew about, then other things fell in place, resulting in some shocking circumstances.
This is the part in the series where I started to get very upset with Sophia. It seemed as though she was making her way through the ranks of her male friends without having a serious concern about how she was treating them. I’m sorry but it’s the truth. I was very happy to see Sage back in action because I missed him for those 10 minutes between books.
In this book we get to learn more about Sophia and her history; the different things that she can do and the reasons why she can do them. And we also learn more about the men that are in Sophia’s life and the reason as to why. There are a lot of twists that take place in this book that will keep you on your toes.
I was worried with this book though that it wouldn’t be able to “live up to” the way that the series has been going, but so far it’s going great and I am really enjoying reading it!
*I received this book free in exchange for an honest review* I read the first 4 books in this series as a box set. It was a wonderfully written, packed saga! I loved the "biblical" aspect without it being a religious story. "I'll never walk away from you again. I will worship and love you every day that you let me." The romances in this book, though some end, and others begin, it's a beautiful tale. This story is so different from other Vampire/Witch novels I have read. There are many shocking revelations. There are sexy moments and emotional moments. But watching Sophia change and grow as a person makes this even better. Though there is sex in the story, I don't think it's too much that an older YA reader couldn't enjoy this. It's not overtly explicit. This series, with each page had me gripped and begging for more! I read all of the 4 books in this box set in one day! I just couldn't seem to put this book down. What a great read! You won't be disappointed.
Ugh!!! I'm so happy with this book it hurts!! Sophia is back at it being her normal awesome, strong, hilarious self! When all else fails, jokes are always good to fall back on! I love that we got to see so much more of other characters in this book like her father, Rachel, Ash, Bryn, Adelaide, and Enoch!! I don't want to give away anything good (and good god there's plenty of amazingly good stuff to give away about this book) so I'm going to be good! I'm freaking out and ready to read the 4th book! Mrs. Mcminimy, you've created a problem in me through these books. I can't stop reading, and have bought more books in the last two days (your books) than I normally do in a week. *sigh* Okay, if you didn't already guess it people, you should definitely read this series. For everything good and holy do yourself this favor! You'll thank me :)
As I finished book 2 I couldn't stop and continued right into book 3. This book is filled with twists and turns. Sophia's love life is a mess through this series and you truly find out why and what the root of everything is in this book. This one started a little bit slower but picked up as everything was reveled to the readers. I loved learning more about Sage and this story was exactly what was needed to bring him and Sophia together. This story will make you mad at characters until you get all the facts so don't stop reading. I again devoured this book. As with books 1 and 2 this one has some distracting grammatical errors.
This book is by far my favorite. So much happens in this book, that will make your jaw drop.
In this book, Sophia is faced with many challenges, and dangers as well as new meanings for loving someone. She also finds out a lot about herself and has finally come into her own. With Sage's life hanging in the balance, Sophia has to call upon powers she never knew she had and discovers more and more about those powers with each passing day. Faced with an even greater force threatening to make a dark prophecy come true, Sophia turns to her friends, loved ones and the people of the coven for the help and guidance they all will need to protect their future.
The third part of the series and I'm feeling very torn about Dante and Sage. I loved Dante and Sophia as a couple and for her to so quickly change to Sage didn't feel right. The prophecy helped ease the blow though when you know Sophia and Sage are meant to be, as well as the arrival of the twins.
I loved all the twists an turns in this book, and all the characters. The only one who really got on my nerves was Rachel. I just couldn't see her and Dante making a couple, and she was so childish and needed to grow up and I felt not his type at all.
Im loving this series and cannot wait to see what happens in part 4!
This is book 3 of the Half-Blood Princess series & it is just as good as the first 2 books in the series. It picks up right where Resurrection Stone leaves off. Sage has died & Sophia brings him back with the use of dark magic.
We learn some very interesting things about Sophia in this book. There is a new enemy & Sophia must count on her friends to help protect her.
This series is not your run of the mill vampire series & I am looking forward to reading the final book soon.
The twist with Sage and Sofia/Sophia was a complete surprise for me, but in a believable way. The interwoven past, and the prophecies tied to Sophia's existence start to make sense here, and really come to life. Love Sage, though I remain a big Tavian fan :) I feel like the build up in the series is intense, and well-handled in McMinimy's hands.
Omg! I have to admit this book had me in tears! It's not often that an author can grip my heart so much to where I hurt for the character. This is the third book in the series and it is wonderful! I love what Sofia and the rest of her gang learns about their history and what evil forces are coming for them. Prepare to be amazed!!!
This is the 3rd story in the Half-Blood Princess series. I read the first two stories and really enjoyed the story but then all of a sudden there's a total shift in the story line. Now there's a secret group out for the main characters, a new love interest and a prophecy. At this point it's as if the author is trying to put so much into one series.
This series just gets better and better. I love how the author has sucked me into their "dysfunctional" family and I worry for some and am happy for others. I also enjoyed the twist that found her soul mate. And the babies, who doesn't love babies? Now on to book 4.
All I can say about this book is.....WOW! I was not expecting all the twists and turns and surprises. This is such an awesome series, I can't read it fast enough. Can't wait to see what book 4 has in store for Sophia, Sage, Dante and everyone else!
The story continues with Sage and Sophia finding their way to each other. It does seem a little rushed and the book ends very abruptly. Overall, a decent read but not great.
Holy cow. The Sophia and Sage twist was unexpected! As were the twins...just wow. I'm really loving this series. Definitely recommend it for any paranormal fans.
