Catherine Morrigan Cecil is made to marry Henri, a man she does not love, for the betterment and safety of her family. Before entering into the marriage, she discovers her true love, Alexandarious, a mysterious intriguing stranger that lives on the blood of others. After days spent in each other’s arms, his desire to give her a better life causes him to send her back to her old life. Upon marrying Henri, Catherine discovers that it is him that is truly a monster, as she is brutalized both physically and emotionally. After being rescued by friends of Alexandarious, she becomes Morrigan instead, and travels to Greece with her infant son, Alexandarious, and Tau. Will the love that she shares with Alexandarious repair the damage done by the time spent with Henri or will old demons return and be the end of their love and her life? Centuries of Blood is an entertaining read. It appeals to such a wide variety of genres, as it contains romance, historical and paranormal aspects, and a little bit of sadomasochism. There really is something for everybody within this book. The characters are richly written and the story ends in such a way that the reader will want more of their story and hope that a sequel will be written.
The raven colored locks of a willful base blossomed into the era’s acceptance of an early age marriage. However, obstinate learned traits cast on by her brother lead Catharine Morrigan to seek more than knowledge but her own life apart from her parent’s future fortune that they had placed on her head at birth.
Carrying the namesake of her own sister Morrigan must act, as only Catharine should. Although before she must… her life for a brief time shall be her own alongside the mysterious Alexandarious. As the fleeting freedom is fast lived Morrigan once again becomes Catharine Morrigan and weds to save if not her own fate, those she cares about. With those, few marital years much will happen that not only changes Catharine Morrigan but the heart of Alexandarious who had traveled to his blood devourers’ duties thus leaving his true love’s side.
When the right is his, once again Alexandarious is allowed his leave to again pursue his mortal love. Although, Catharine Morrigan is even now beyond her duties as Catharine. Has Alexandarious lost his Morrigan and any hope of even the Catharine Morrigan he had first met or will time heal all the wounds to allow Alexandarious and his Morrigan their happy ever after.
I was given a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I will start out by saying that this is not my typical genre. I don't read much paranorlmal books, and as a Christian I found some parts of this book very hard to take. That being said, it was a great read. My heart broke for Catherine Morrigan as I watched the abuse she suffered at the hands of her husband. I rejoiced when she was saved and reunited with her true love, the dashing vampire, Alexandarius. And I held my breath as I wondered if thier love would be strong enough to overcome the torture she went through.
Ms. Hayes writing takes you into the world and makes you believe that it's real. Her style is authentic and the characters are three deminional. But I didn't like the ending and there are parts of the book that didn't ring true for me. However, If you like vampires, you'll love this story!!
Title: Centuries of Blood: Becoming Author: S.I. Hayes Publisher: S.I. Hayes; 2 edition Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: Four Review: "Centuries of Blood: Becoming" by S. I. Hayes
My Speculation:
I found this story quite complicated as well as entertaining as it will hold your attention to the end, especially if you enjoy a good paranormal romance read as 'Centuries of Blood: Becoming' was presented. I found the characters somewhat odd in many strange ways, however still interesting.
We find Catharine Morrigan was promised to one. However, she did not want him [Henri]. Then she meets another who is a vampire, A Blood Devourer [Darious], they part, and she returns home and marries the one she didn't want. What will happen as this story plays out? I will say at this point I didn't enjoy the sexual abuse she received from that Henri. Well, I will just say this is one of those paranormal reads that you will have to pick up and see for yourself if she will reconnect with the vampire Darious as he fights for Morrigan survival at the hands of the man she calls her husband? I will say that the ending was somewhat abrupt that did leave me wondering what happened with Henri and his brother Robert? Did I find this story a good read? YES!
I had already read several books by this writer, but they were so-called books in the here and now. This is the first paranormal book and it caught me from the first page.
The part in which Alexandarious is introduced to Catherine Morrigan when she is a young girl of 16 is like a romantic story where she learns a little bit about Darious. He lets her go so she can live a full life, hopefully in happy times. Catherine is married off to Henri who turns out to be a masochist after their marriage. He tries to control her body, mind and spirit by torturing her. This part of the story is a dark story that may startle readers. Fortunately, Darious finds her again and flees with her. The memories of her expired marriage and torture continue to haunt her. After traveling the world for 3 years, they return to England. Memories of Henri stay with her and then he turns out not to be dead but alive and well and kidnapped her. How strong can you be as a woman? Can Darious find her again? What if Henri can give her what Darious has denied her?
Wonderful story!

Listen. I gave it a chapter. There were so many typos, that alone made it a struggle. Maybe it gets better. I don’t know. But the first chapter was essentially word vomit, time jump, more word vomit, more time jumps. There’s no showing. Just telling. Could this be a solid first draft? Sure. But a final copy? No. I’m sure 75% of the information in the word vomit time pauses weren’t necessary. It probably could have been all summed up into one page if written well. I DNFed and will probably be donating my copy (that I go free on an IG giveaway I don’t even remember entering. Vampires aren’t my thing. Not since twilight ruined the whole genre for me)
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Centuries of Blood: Becoming by S.I. Hayes is an Erotica Paranormal Romance. Alexandarious (Darious) is young, strong, and Immortal. Named for a child lost, Catharine Morrigan is chained to a life she doesn't want. Promised to a man whose ways foretell an unhappy life while still in love with another who will not fight for her. He wants and needs the beautiful woman "Morrigan" is becoming. But his heart knows better. She deserves a full life, one he can not give her. A sexy well-written read.
*Spoilers* I really enjoyed this book and hope for another to continue where this one left off. I thought it was very well written and the main characters, Morrigan and Darius, have a love that can withstand the ages. I would have liked to see more about Robert and what sort of person he was compared to Henri AFTER Morrigan married Henri. Would recommend this book for anyone who wants a love story mixed with a dark story.

This story is complicated, she is constantly in fear and running from something she seeks to avoid and fears only to run into someone she both fears and desires. Divided loyalties and complicated biological needs converge in this story of fighting for what you want when all the cards are stacked against you.

That alot of story in one book. The characters are odd. What i mean by that is they seem eccentric. If you have issues with sexual violence do not try to read. It was difficult for me. I did love the heart that morrigan or Catharine has but she is warring with herself. Great ending but now I want the next book. What going to happen now?

This is an intriguing paranormal read dating in the 16th Century England. The author takes you back to the day with her detailed scenes and weaves a story filled with action, drama, danger, mystery and secrets. She brings strong characters and an entertaining historical romance. It's well written, moves at a steady pace and I enjoyed reading.

I ENJOYED READING CENTURIES OF BLOOD. THE STORY IS WELL WRITTEN AND KEEPS YOUR INTEREST. I THOUGHT CATHARINE, DARIOUS AND THE REST OF THE CHARACTERS THORUGHOUR ARE WELL WRITTEN AND DEVELOPED. I LOVED THE HISTORICAL ASPECT OF THE STORY AS WELL. IF YOU LOVE PARANORMAL THEN I RECOMMEND READING THIS BOOK.

Wow, what a story! So much going on in this book. Two main characters are Alexandarious, aka Darious, and Catharine Morrigan, aka Morrigan. They are actually in love. There are those who don't want that for them. Morrigan goes through an awful lot. Go on this journey with them. Can they ever get the love they so rightly deserve?
Good book. This is interesting story and good characters. Liked this book a lot. Recommend this entertaining read. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I won this book in a FB event. There were some parts that I enjoyed more thsn others. Some parts could have been skipped over as they didn’t really contribute to the story and were just fluff to increase the word count. Otherwise all in all, pretty good. Enjoy!
A historical PNR, what more is there it say. The characters are great, it is easy to relate to them and to like or hate them. The story line is slow to start but once it picks up it is non-stop page turning that I could not put down. If you like historical and or PNR, you should read this.
3.5 Stars. There was so much promise for this story, but it just felt a little flat. There are also quite a lot of editing errors that should have been caught. Overall it is a good read, with likable characters. Without the editing mistakes I would have been a solid 4 stars.
Catharine Morrigan was raised by a loving father who indulged her thirst for knowledge and freedom. When she was told she had to marry, she rebelled and found someone she could love. Forced into a loveless marriage, she thought her love had forgotten. This is Catherine's story of love, survival, loss and acceptance. A truly gifted writer, S I Hayes takes us through life in the 16th Century. The good, the bad and the seedier side all well written and enjoyed.

Catherine Morrigan’s life was dull, she was constantly living in the shadow of her dead sister, her brother had gone off to college and met a girl to marry but she was left at home. When she decided to visit the next town to see how other people lived she met Alexandarious and though he intrigued her, circumstances forced her into a marriage with another, Henri.
Being set in the 1500’s the dialogue and writing style was what I can only imagine as an attempt to recreate the language of the time, though none of it came across very natural and it wasn’t a comfortable read. The story began with an info-dump that was robotically written and instantly put me off. If that initial introduction about Catherine becoming ill and dying had been written as if part of the story rather than the author telling the reader about it, I think I may have become more invested in the book from the off.
To be honest I found it difficult to stay focussed, there were numerous typo’s and comma’s placed in unusual places, and I fear I may have missed some of the main plot points through my distraction.
I am not saying this is a bad book; it just didn’t work for me. Both the writing style and the plotline were not to my taste.
Containing historical and paranormal romance aspects, and just a touch of sadomasochism, there is a little something for everyone in this book. With great character interaction and a cliff hanger that will leave you wanting more.
Forced to marry Henri, while her love Alexandarius heads off to war. Catherine Morrigan learns who the real monster is. Her only hope is that Alexandarius will come and save her, but as time goes on, her hope dwindles.
Finally rescued, Morrigan learns to deal with the madness the abuse has left her. But is Henri really dead? Or will he come back to finish destroying what is left of her sanity?
The prose of this book sounds purposefully old fashioned since the story is taking place in the 1500's, but for me it wasn't working. It sounded forced. The transitions leave something to be desired. The book was reading like a list in the beginning. This happened, and then this happened, and then this happened. Catherine marries Henri but she loves the vampire Alexandarius. My mind kept wandering while reading this and I really wanted to skip a lot of it to get to the naughty bits. This book needs more development. 3 stars.
Very good read. Really liked this book. This book combined two of my favorite genres, paranormal romance and historical romance. This was not a sappy romance however it had some pretty harsh and traumatic elements,Sadness, torture, etc. There was some joy in it also. This book showed you a side of blood devourers that you don't read very often. I like reading stories that have different twists on stories that you read all the time. I have never read anything from this author before but I will be reading more from now on. With the ending to this story I do hope there is a next one.
