Larissa Jacobs' financial debt may be a thing of the past, now that Senator—and the all-but-certain future president—Chase Underwood has offered her a lucrative position in his campaign. But, like the rest of Chase’s staffers, Larissa is asked to sign a nondisclosure agreement; only Larissa’s NDA comes with some interesting stipulations that may make or break their arrangement.
The last thing Larissa wants is to go back to working for Black Tie Escorts, but she doesn’t know if she’s prepared to give Chase what he's asking for. Add the nosy reporter who seems intent on learning more about Larissa and her role in the campaign, and Larissa begins to wonder if she’s cut out for the role of Senior Personal Assistant.
This is the second short story in the Power Players Series.
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cassia Leo grew up in California and has lived in three different countries. She loves to travel and her dream is to one day score a record deal based on her awesome shower singing skills. She is the author of the Shattered Hearts series (Relentless, Pieces of You, Bring Me Home). She is also the author of the popular Luke and Chase series.
Larissa is now working with Chase's campaign for President. It's business at work for them with a nondisclosure document that all staff signs but after hours Chase and Larissa are anything but business--- THEY ARE HOT ...HAWT! They are staying on guard because there is a nosey reporter watching and waiting for.... just read it to see!
"Carrying on a secret affair with the most wanted politician in America was tricky at best. At it’s worst, my affair with presidential candidate Chase Underwood would be a racing nightmare of primping and prepping for one publicity event after another. At it’s best, our affair was the naughtiest, most pleasurable relationship I’d ever been in."
Larissa accepts the position as Chase's political assistant and as soon as she signs the non disclosure agreement the pressure to perform kicks off. They fly out Maryland for a political event and reporters and high profile contacts seem like too much to handle. That is until Chase makes Larissa another offer she just can't refuse. Is a proposal enough to keep her on the sideline waiting for Chase?
This installment sure kicked up the heat factor. These two are hot together and I'm super curious if their hidden attraction will hold up or explode under pressure... On to the next one to find out!!!
Not sure what I expected- I read Luke so I know how Leo works... But I mean come on!
Chase (a presidential candidate) says I love you to Party Clown/sell my body for sex- come personal assistant in the matter of a week- then the next day asks her to marry him (over the phone none the less)...
What a train wreck of a book- and the sad thing is- the actual story line (minus selling herself for money) wouldn't be a bad story... If it was just that... A Story/book instead of 40 pages of rushed events with absolutely no character development.
"I've never met anyone as fiercely loyal and trusting and beautiful as you, Larissa. I want the world to know not just that I love you but that you love me, because that's what makes me the luckiest bastard in the world"
First let me start by saying, the reason I read this was because I just finished the Luke Series by Cassia Leo and I had to read this also. These series are great, they are really quick reads but only because you get sucked in from the first sentence and don't put it down until its over.
Larissa is in her early 20's and moved to L.A. to become an actress. After not getting her big break she picks up small side jobs. After losing her last job as a children's party entertainer, she resorts to becoming an escort for Black Tie Escorts where her roommate worked for 3 year. The only reason she takes the job is because if she doesn't start doing something she won't be able to pay for her student loans, debt and even rent.
She knew her first day at work was going to be someone with a high profile client but she didn't expect it to be Chase Underwood, the 39 year old Senator, Presidential Candidate and MARRIED Chase Underwood!
She quickly finds herself as his new Personal Assistant for his Campaign with LOTS of benefits...and I can't stress the work LOTS enough!
"When life hands you a precious gift, wrapped in a flashy bow, sometimes it turns out to be a boxful of lemons"
With Chase being such a high profile person, their "relationship" has to remain a secret. With reporters and journalists everywhere, someone is bound to figure something out.
Chase and Larissa's odds of being able to stay together don;t look good....is their love for each other strong enough to last??
Chase was so sweet. You want him to have everything and even though you want to yell...JUST GIVE IT UP FOR HER...you know he can't do that. Not just anyone can get the chance to run for president. He deserves to get what he wants and has worked for 10 years to get also. It is all just so bitter sweet!
Also, let me tell you...this book was H.O.T., hot, hot, hot!!! Chase....a VERY generous man!
Oh, I can't forget to mention Drew...He is a secret service agent that is always with Larissa and oh boy, I fell for that man!! YUUMMMMMY!!!
The entire series is told in Larissa's POV. I would have loved to hear what Chase was thinking in a few parts but it really didn't change by opinion at all.
Cassia Leo really captivates her readers from the start! She has a full length novel coming out soon called Relentless and I must say, I will be reading that the day its out, CAN NOT WAIT!!!
I wont be casting this one on my own because all the covers show pictures and I really like them as the characters...they are perfect!!
Read the first one enjoyed the story line so continued with the next one. This one is more focused on his job then Chase and Larissa. something happens at the end that could change everything. Will be reading the next one.
Larissa Jacobs is getting the lay of the land when it comes to her above board job duties. She keeps track of the senator's appointments, emails and online presence. Unofficially, she also takes care of his every other need. Too bad his wife is meeting up with them and soon enough Larissa will have to admit she's fallen for an unavailable man. Katherine Underwood is not the only shadow Larissa and Chase picked up on the campaign trail, a sneaky reporter is keeping tabs on them and clearly keeping this affair under wraps is going to be more difficult than expected. Through enough sensual scenes, Cassia Leo tells a bit more about the hopeful senator and his muse.
The book pace sped up a lot more in this book...or at least I felt it did. I have a very bad feeling that something very career endingly bad is going to happen in this series. This end of this one kind of shocked me, I felt it was too soon for Chase to pop the question...seeings as he oh I don't know STILL MARRIED!!! I don't see this going anywhere good thus far....but as always I am hoping for a happy ending....
This second entry into the Power Players series has Larissa learning the ropes as Chase's personal assistant on his campaign. A nosy and suspicious reporter named Heather is like a dog with a bone, and is coming at Larissa any time she can. The two of them must keep up appearances in public, but behind closed doors, their relationship is as hot as ever-and is Chase has anything to say, heading for more.
Did Chase make Larissa an offer she can't refuse? He makes sure she doesn't refuse! This couple is HOT, HOT, HOT together! With her agreement to work for Chase, Larissa has to sign a NDA, non-disclosure agreement, to work for him. She is still wondering if this is the right move for her, but their relationship, as Chase calls it, is really intense and hot!
This book was bit of the same as in the first book, I think that the other following books were better, that's why I'm giving this book only 2 stars.
They have great chemistry and that's waht made this book not a zero star book. I think that these series in total deserve a lot of stars, but not this part of the series.
I know that I probably shouldn't even like this series, because Chase is kind of a bastard to Larissa. I honestly don't feel like he's treating her the way she should be treated (she should be treated a lot better, just to clarify). But I can't help it, I still love this series. It's a quick read, since the books in this series are about 35-40 pages long (short?)
Wow, that was really rushed. I know its short fiction, but it was even more rushed than Mirror. I will finish the series before deciding whether it is something I can accept.
I absolutely love this series. I love the budding romance between Larissa and Chase. All though they can not be together publicly they are able to try and make a relationship work. I can not wait to read the next part.
I wouldn't call this a book, it's more of a teaser. I LOVE Cassia Leo but Chase did not do it for me. It was better than the first one... I'll read the rest of them because I'm that person who has to finish a series that I start. Definitely not my favorite Cassia Leo.
Love at first sight?!? Things are moving quickly for Chase and Larissa. Reporter getting nosy and suspicious. They are trying to keep their affair hush hush but wanting to be together for long term. What's gonna happen next?!? Can't wait to find out!
Future president, married (good or bad), hiring an escort, becomes his mistress, and what happens next.... Um No, no, no. I just can't buy into this at all. But I'm a sucker and I'm reading on....
I' not sure about the NDA, but I think it's kinda weird..one point you are an escort, while you also as a personal asistant for Presidential candidate... But sex are included... Naughty Chase.
Omg is the first thing I said when I started reading this book like it was addicting Chase is hot and Larissa so good for him I can't wait to read more
