Do remember as a child thinking there were monsters under the bed. What if they were real? what if they had a purpose? In this book Liss introduces us to these thoughts and more. We meet Missy a young girl dying and when Charlie the monster under her bed offers her a rare gift one that brings adventure and a high price.

I have to say I loved this book and can not wait for the next one. This book was full of adventure, friendship and more importantly reminds us how valuable life truly is. whether your an adult wanting reconnect with your childhood or a parent of a young adult this book is one for everyone to enjoy. I recommend grabbing a copy and read it with your kids I promise you'll have a grand adventure.

When you were a kid, did you ever worry about he monster under your bed? Did you give him a name? Did you ever talk to him? Would you be brave enough to look under the bed and meet him? Missy did…

Missy is a fighter. She has spent her entire life fighting to live, her body is weak but her spirit is strong. Charlie has spent his life watching out for his human. He is tasked to hide under her bed and protect the portal to his world. Charlie has done the unthinkable and has fallen in love with her. When he sees her time on earth coming to an end, he can’t let her die. Charlie calls out to Missy and touches her which has dire consequences for him in the monster realm.

Missy is transported to the monster realm where she learns that her monster Charlie has made a great sacrifice to help her. When they touched, a bond was created between them that left Charlie too weak for the monster world. The only thing that can restore his strength is for Missy to become a monster herself. Missy knows what it is like to be weak and she can’t let Charlie live like that.

The monster realm holds many new adventures for Missy. She is able to run and laugh. She is strong…stronger than she’s ever been. To save Charlie she must complete three quests to complete the transformation. Can she do it? Is she finally strong enough?

I love how Ms. Thomas has turned the romance world on it’s head and has the Damsel rescuing her Prince. All to often the women in romance novels are unable to stand on their own, they need their strong male protectors. The author has reinforced the fact that girls can fight just as hard as to save those they love as their male counterparts.

Liss Thomas has created a world full of likeable strong well developed characters. She is very creative in her descriptions helping you envision this world with vivid clarity. This book has the reader running through the gauntlet of emotions. I felt everything from sadness, joy, anger and anticipation…I’m looking forward to reading the next book.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

It's been about two weeks since I read this and I could read it again, it's just that good.
Only one other book has done that to me lately. It's not something I say lightly.

But I could flail all over this book.

I found this book in 2012 but wasn't sure if it was something that I would be able to get into. So when I heard it was having a free day, I grabbed it and thought I`d get to it eventually.

*Cue kicking myself now*

Had I read it when it was released it, would have for sure made my best of the year post.

I love the uniqueness that finding monsters offers.
I love that it takes something potentially heartbreaking and turns it into the most beautiful thing ever.
I also love the unique spin on the fear of monsters under the bed.

..Yes, you`re wondering how those could possibly be the same book right?
They are the same book, and the author does an amazing job making it all flow naturally.

Finding Monsters grabbed me and sank it`s claws in right from the start.
Could not put it down, and finished it very quickly.

Finding monsters, is something of a romantic adventure ish story. However, the romance element is not nauseating and it doesn't take over the entire story.
I love authors with strong writing who juggle romance and a story line, with out the romance rules the world vibe some books give.

Favourites:

Character: Charlie - however, this was not an easy decision.
I loved all of them. Even the bad guys, they were all so well written and the surprises. Gah just wow.

So hard to write this and not give little things away by saying too much.
It really exceeded anything I could have imagined.
This book has forever changed the way I look at butterflies.
It's also a new favourite.

If you are looking for something different, a book you can fall head over heels for, this is that book.

If you are someone that has to have the paperbacks of the titles you really love, do yourself a favour and get the paper first.

This one get's the spot right next to Proximity and Relativity.

Can't wait for the next book!!!!!

Liss shares an entertaining, imaginative story filled with emotion, adventure, and constant twists and turns. More importantly, and one of the reasons that I love this book, it is based on a storyline that I have never before heard of or read… it is completely UNIQUE!

I was immediately taken with all of the characters that we meet; both good and bad because each was developed with such depth. Once I started reading I couldn’t stop because I needed to know what was going to happen next and Liss did not fail to surprise me at every turn. This, my friends, is the sign of a great novel!

I received a complimentary copy of Liss Thomas’ eBook, Finding Monsters (Guardians of Esurack, #1), for the purpose of review. Please note, the opinions expressed are my own and I am not required to post a positive review.

Liss Thomas creates a fascinating and intriguing world within the fairly short contents of this novel. There is magic, mythical creatures, and imaginative creations. The idea is a different twist on the monsters under our beds. The characters are easy to form attachments with, though in no way perfect, making them easier to believe.

It is simply written but not to the point of treating the reader like a child, making it a fast, easy, and enjoyable read. My only complaint would be that it was much too short. I will definitely be purchasing the next instalment.

This novel was given to me in exchange for an honest review. All opinions stated are entirely my own.  To view more please visit me at http://www.theproductschool.org
