One of the most pivotal if not the most pivotal points in Philippine poetry, Paolo Manalo did not just translate or transliterate words, he enunciated, in perfect pitch, the limitations and potential of navigating between and against two languages. Poetry is also about destroying the language, and the point of that destruction is to reveal. And he sure did great in this department.
