HELL'S BOUNTY

In the post-holocaust wastelands of 22nd-centry America, precious little remains of life before the nuclear blowout. Legends circulate of Redoubts, secret pre-Dark military bases with caches of food, medicine and, most important, weapons. Yet only a few of the ragged elite possess the arcane knowledge that enables them to locate and access these valuable storehouses.

ARMORED BEAST

In a hidden redoubt in Ohio, Ryan Cawdor and his band of warrior survivalists take possession of the ultimate Deathlands War Wag a crude but effective tank called Leviathan. But having this steel-plated behemoth is a double-edged sword when they fall into the trap of Lady Ward of Novaville, who wants Leviathan for her own means of destruction and domination.

In the Deathlands, the future is just an idea.

I've acquired a stack of these books at 3-for-a-buck sales at the NYPL, back when they were doing that.

The first one* was kinda entertaining. The second one was pretty identical to the first. The third one was exactly like the other two.

Plot is extremely weak (as one can expect from a series where a book comes out monthly), the action ranges from pretty good to horrible, and in general it's just not very good, compared to any serious works.

3 for a buck is just about what I'd pay for the quality I get.

* it was a rather random selection from the series, I don't think I even bothered reading them in sequencial order. Whichever one was picked first was it. The entire stack has been trashed long since.

An average apocalyptic adventure story. This one takes a century after the last war and now there are mutants running around the earth. Recommended
