They were thought of in Part One, spoke of in Part Two, and listened to in Part Three. Who are they? They are The Five Daughters. Life changes is how I would sum up this installment when I say I was emotionally invested into the Five Daughters lives as if I were the sixth. I felt their joys, heart aches, pain and love, you couldn't tell me I wasn't a part of the friendship, the bond, the sisterhood and sheer commitment they shared. I was not prepared for this part at all Clever Black sucked me in and I felt as I were reading from a woman author the raw emotion and feeling that was within these pages had me all in my feelings literally crying not just tearing up full blown outright balling. Dominique, Rolonda, Lubby, Brianna and Tracey are the Five and they will leave you speechless once their story is told. On to the next one...
It started out slow but I understand the way author write. He gives you the full background on the characters in the book to draw you to make you feel like you were there. I can relate because I grew up during the time they were growing up. The author is doing a great job connecting all of their lives. I like the fact that I cannot read the book in one day. I am able to really read the book.
Having just completing the fourth book in the series Clever Black has me hooked. Each character is full of surprise and faces each challenge head on. Lessons are faced head on. The Ben Holland Family Saga series is worth reading. You will laugh, cry, want to help them fight and get even with their enemies.
The Friendships In This Book Was The Realist I've Ever Seen/Heard About, I Loved How The Fab Five Had Each Other's Back Like They Did...... Straight BEAUTIFUL 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Clever Black’s “The Holland Family Saga III: The Five Daughters” continues with the life of Ben Holland. It involved five friends who were raised with a strong bond as sisters – Rolanda, Lubby, Tracey, Brianna, and Dominique. All of them are different but are somehow one in the same. Ben Holland was just a child when introduced to the Holland Family but their brief connection remained unforgettable to everyone.
I’m always pleased after reading one of Clever Black’s books. Every detail is displayed for the reader regarding the ups and downs of life for all five women from their childhoods to womanhood.
At first I didn’t think that this story was relevant to Ben Holland, but Clever Black has a skill to always add pertinent details at perfect time during his stories – excellent job! As I continued reading this story, my level of understanding expanded and I learned more background information about Ben Holland than anticipated. The novel is well written, stimulating and intense like his others.
Clever Black is indeed clever in his penmanship. His execution in development of scenes and characters is mesmerizing as he orchestrates each plot methodically and hypnotically. Five lifelong friends trek through life in New Orleans. Their history and vivid vibrancy is simply melodic. Love, loyalty, friendship, sisterhood, boldness, bravery and the ability to presevere while fighting to make their dreams their reality. A realistic tale that although is inspirational yet also entails tragedy, heartbreak and anguish. There are some editing issues, moments of repetitive-ness, but the strength of the flow easily overshadows the vices. I am so glad to have Clever Black's classics in my library!
It's almost impossible to believe that one author could be this talented, but Black brings it every time. This book is filled with laughter and tears with the right amount of steamy sex. Some grammatical errors and to lyrics to songs at times were my only real criticisms. Also, how are these people recognizing each other after so many years apart? The scene when Ben saved Bri's life had to unfold very quickly. There was too much going on for Ben to have recognized her in just a few minutes. No Sweat
This series has definitely been a ride and it is not over yet. I was so heart broken over what happened between Lubby and her mother. Lubby, Rolanda and Bri got the worst of life's traumas but they were able to turn things around for the best. The next journey is Ben and Samantha finding more family that they never knew about and a link to twin genes. Clever Black is a great story weaver indeed
I wasn't feeling this part at first but after awhile I got into it. I like how this was incorporated into the other books. It was funny yet sad at times. These girls had an unbreakable bond. You don't find friendships like that anymore. Ben's family tree is still growing. I liked The Five but I can't wait to hear more about Samantha, Ben and Ace. I need to know what became of him.. I'm a fan of The Holland Family Saga.
I must say this is extremely good saga. Clever black know how to kept interest. I have laugh and cry while reading this book. I recommend this saga and about to read part5. And to top it off you get your money worth. A lot of these writes have 5 to 6 to there books and it is only a 100 pages. I feel good about purchasing his books ,because I was not cheated. This I s a must read saga people*************
I really enjoyed this one...i thought it was going to be hard to keep up with all the characters but the story was so entertaining that i knew exactly what was going all the whole time. Even though it didn't have much to do with the holland family i enjoy seeing how black intertwines all his story lines...looking forward to the next one!!
