In He’s Inviting Us In, author Ronda Paulson explores the idea of saying yes to whatever God may be asking you to do. Living a life of obedience, open to His call, and no longer paralyzed by fear. She uses humor and heart through examples from her own life to encourage the reader to say yes to God’s invitation to be the hands and feet of Jesus here and now.
Through the story of Isaiah 117 House, Ronda provides examples of what God can do with a very scared little “yes”. He’s Inviting Us In is a book for anyone longing to feel inspired and reminded that God is still moving mountains. Let your first “yes” be the yes to reading this book!
I read this book three times, cover to cover, in one night. It was one of the best books I've read in a very long time and will 100% leave a lasting impression.
The Isaiah 117 House in my area is opening later this year (as soon as we have the finances raised and the furniture put together) and reading this book and reading Ronda's passion for, yes the House, but more importantly, for God - I'm even more excited than I previously was.
God is so incredibly good and the fact that we are invited to even watch what He does and how He moves (much less that He invites us to be a part of it!!) blows my mind. I am constantly in awe of how the Lord continues to work and continues to move. And that we get invited to be a part of that.
A beautiful, but heart wrenching story about the foster system. Ronda got called by God (again and again and again) to do something, and she responded yes every time.
Her story on creating a house for foster kids to wait in is the happiness we need in a broken world. It was a quick read, and it read as if she were sitting next to you talking. I thought I held off crying, but the ending got me.
It’s challenging me to not be afraid to say “yes” to God- and to start asking Him to show me what he wants me to do.
On the very traumatic day when a child is removed from his or her home to enter the foster care system, they go to a DCS office where he/she will await placement. This may take anywhere from 3 hours to 3 days. Sometimes no windows, no showers, and no beds. On such a traumatic day, you’d hope that somehow this little boy or girl would feel safe, welcomed, or loved by someone: Enter Ronda and her Isaiah 117 House dream-turned-reality.
Wow!! Ronda writes beautifully peppered in with her fun sense of humor. You can’t read this book and not feel the love and faith that are her foundation. God speaks to each of us, we need to be still and hear His voice. I loved seeing and reading up on the miracles this woman has done, and the love she has spread to so many foster children. What an inspiration! A wonderful read and highly recommend! “Love, you are not alone.” ❤️
This amazing book waa recommended by the author's father-in-law. He had very briefly shared the story of the Isaiah House with me. When I read a bit of his book, I knew I wanted to have my own personal copy. This is an amazing book! The service that is provided is truly spirit led. Everyone should read the book and contribute to this amazing service that is provided for children.
A beautiful story of God’s love and grace. I listened to the audiobook and felt like I was sitting with the author listening to her tell stories of God’s goodness over a cup of coffee.
Isaiah 117 house popped up in my Facebook recently and I saw a post about the book and knew I had to read it. Big thank you to my cousin for gifting me this book with he extra audible credit.
This story is convicting yet encouraging. A true example of how, if we will give God our loaves and fishes, He will do the rest.
This book was so captivating and so beautifully written. I'm in awe of God's goodness and the redemption for each child. Rhonda is a perfect example of the hands and feet of Jesus and His love and goodness. These kids got to be loved and told that they will never be forgotten. Thank you for being obedient to God's calling because this book was so much more than the Isaiah House for me. I volunteer and write the thank you cards for the people who donate and it's made me more happy and excited to write these cards.
This book was amazing. The story of Isiah 1:17 House is one of hope and God’s provision. Rhonda is an amazing soul who walks faithfully listening for God’s “Yes”. This is a raw and real story about the difficulties of adoption and the inadequacy of the US foster system. But it is also a good example of how one family walking in faith can cause a ripple that goes beyond all imagination. I highly recommend this book.
This is a powerful story with inspiration to seek and follow Gods nudges. To be open to listen and to risk and to live! I couldn’t read it without tearing up and feeling like I want to be part of a bigger story! Plus just learning about Isaiah117 House makes me even more excited to be involved there.
This is an amazing testimony of what God does when we say yes, even when it seems impossible. I love the stories of what these homes have meant to children who are scared and overwhelmed.
So thankful for Ronda and what she has done for kids in the foster care system. Turning beauty into ashes. Hopefully one day to write my own letter to that little girl. ❤️
This book is for everyone. It's the beautiful stories of how God works to redeem the ugly and provide the safe. Isaiah 117 houses provide that safe place for kids entering foster care. Kudos to Ronda Paulson for her vulnerability in sharing this journey.
Just took a tour of one of the homes and was interested to learn more about how and when they were started. I got started reading and could not stop until I finished. Inspirational book everyone should read it.
Five stars is not enough to rate "He's Inviting Us In." The book drew me in from the very beginning. My career began in the child welfare field so I knew some of the heartaches but I did not realize the depth and magnitude that it encompassed. The book is engaging and life changing in the same breath. It makes you want to go out and be a champion for the widows and orphans. It is our call as Christians. I would challenge everyone to listen to the story of Isaiah 117 house and not be changed. I know that I am.
Incredible read. Couldn’t put it down until I finished the whole thing! Ronda is such an engaging speaker and writer. I laughed out loud, cried heavy tears and cried happy/thankful tears. It’s amazing to hear how God has worked in her life and in Isaiah 117 House. He does big things when we simply say “yes” to what He puts before us. A must read. Also, find an Isaiah 117 House near you and get involved. Your life will be forever changed.
I live in East Tennessee, and heard about the home when it was being started but didn’t know the story behind it. Thank you for sharing the story and loving kids so much.
Your faith and willingness to say yes to God without having all the details is my 3rd time in a week telling me to just say yes to the plan god has for my life and he will work out all the details!
You truly were blessed with a godly husband was all in no matter what.
What a wonderful story Ronda and her family are writing. God is truly using them to do so much for so many. It’s nice to see how God is also using so many others to help Ronda’s story play out, to benefit children. I pray there will be many more Isaiah Houses to come, everywhere. Bless all involved.
As Christians, we are called to take care of the widowed and orphaned. Isaiah 117 houses are fulfilling the call to care for the children within the foster care system. Learning how the Isaiah 117 houses began and how Ronda stood in obedience is inspiring.
Such a quick & sweet read! Really thankful for the work Isaiah 117 does & to see communities rally and make these houses happen is really amazing. A really great book to recommend to people that have a heart for foster care or for people that just love kids. We can all be a part of loving kiddos well!
I read this book after becoming a volunteer in York Co. SC. It is an amazing story that will touch your heart. You can’t read this book & do nothing. Isaiah 117 House is changing the lives of foster children across the United States.
Wonderful personal story of a mom following God, becoming a foster parent, and then finding a way to make the separation day of foster placement feel safe and loved as they get ready for a new home. Testimony of how God provides when you act.
So powerful and profound. I knew almost all of the stories but still found myself teary throughout. ❤️❤️ Can't recommend this book, organization and author enough.
A must read! The story telling is amazing and seeing how God has moved in this ministry and answers prayers and asks us to say yes. It was just amazing.
