About the author

I am the author of 50 books published by Harlequin Silhouette, mostly Special Editions, some bestsellers, award-winning or nominated and still being published in multiple languages.

After my last novel, I took ten years off to travel with my husband and do all the things you can't do when writing seemingly non-stop. It was on one of those trips in Europe that I first visited a concentration camp. Several months later, I was still thinking about what I had seen and learned there.

I have always loved exploring relationships and the ways people react in extraordinary situations. I had read Treblinka, The Revolt of an Extermination Camp, during my last summer break in high-school. That book, and later, Babi Yar, a Story of the Holocaust, stuck with me in ways so many other stories had not.

My 'escape' reading -- when I had time for it after marrying, having two beautiful children and working in the legal world -- turned to romance novels when my husband gave me one that had come free with my Mother's Day gift. That book led to my writing career.

Decades later, after spending a day at a concentration camp outside Berlin with my husband, good friends and a private guide/scholar, my need to explore what happened in Germany and Europe during WWII had become a passion.

I co-wrote THE RAVEN AND THE ANGEL with my dear friend Evelyn Lawson. Her ancestors are German, many lived in Germany during and after the war, and have been valuable resources. She lived in Germany herself as a child and is an ardent student of WWII history.
