Nicholas Stevens is beginning to think he'll never find the man he’s meant to spend his life with. When a college football team’s bus flips on the interstate and it’s no accident, Detective Stevens is put on the case to find out who is threatening gay football players. A routine interview with the gay quarterback yields one major lead: Sebastian Price is his mate.

After years of watching a childhood friend harassed by the police, Sebastian Price hates cops with a passion. But there’s something about Detective Nicholas Stevens that piques his interest – and it isn’t just the man’s stunning good looks. When Sebastian's life is threatened, can he trust the one man who swears he’ll protect him?

Surprises await both men as Sebastian holds a secret even he didn't know he was keeping.

I have been blessed in this life to not only have parents that support me, but kids that do as well. I grew up in a loving but "Old School" French household. My parents worked for the airlines (TWA) so I was able to see a lot of Europe as a kid. I moved to Seattle Washington at the age of 22 and stayed there for twelve years before moving to Alaska for a little over two. Fairbanks, AK was one hell of an experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go back! I spent a little over a year in South Carolina before moving back to Arizona. I then left for Kansas for five years and now reside in Arizona. I've been connected to the military in one way or another for over half my life and wouldn't change a thing about it. Writing has become my full time job and I've never been so happy doing a job I love and being able to do it in my jammies. I plan on writing until I dry up and die. Hopefully, that won't happen soon!

I liked this one, and Sebastien, a lot more than I thought I would. More action and lots of twists. On to book 12.

Sebastian/Bas and Nicholas/Nick finally get together. Poor Nick has been waiting so long for his mate. This story has a different spin on it, which explains a bit about Sebastian's behavior when he was dating Wyatt. I hadn't really liked him a whole lot up until this point, but as new information came to light, that changed quickly.

I really need to make a name chart to keep track of who is who in what pack, etc. As with all the previous books, we are introduced to yet more wolves/people. Nikolai pays a few visits in this one, which I loved. And, Nick's straight partner, Casey, was pretty cool. Looking forward to the next one.

Well Nick finally gets his mate! He's been pretty depressed about it and it turns out to be none other than the victim in his investigation - Sebastian Price. There are quite a few twist and turns to this story and we find out about Sebastian's family and more about Nick's as well. Sebastian gets some pretty surprising news in the middle of all this mayhem as well. We do get to see some of the other guys in this one as well - especially Wyatt and Preston since Wyatt and Sebastian are still good friends and on the football team together. Can't wait for the next book though. FINALLY! Wayne and Conner!

I liked this one, but I also didn't like it either.
I found that the plot was different from the previous stories, a bit of mystery that was nice, but the relationship stuff was the same as all the other stories. Always falling in love right away. Always having to be reminded how hot everyone in the stories is. I think in every book there is someone who asks (or states) "you really love him, don't you?" And with all the couples the usual top at some point asks the bottom to top in which the reply is "are you sure?". I think I need a break from this series, yes.

Damn, here we go again. I just LOVED the relationship between Sebastian and Nicholas. The surprise WAS a surprise! Wonderfully written with witty dialogue and scorching sex scenes. Mrs. Dion does NOT disappoint!

Another great add to the series. Loved both Nicholas Stevens and Sebastian Price when we met them, knowing that with this author they would be redeemed in some way. This book had some surprises and I couldn't put it down. Can't wait for the next.

In perfect harmony with all the series that is now a classic among the gay romance fans, The Red Zone plays again the card of the hot cop falling in love for the younger college student who needs to be reined (a little like the story of Preston and Wyatt). Actually Sebastian Price is Wyatt’s former boyfriend, the one that in Wyatt’s story doesn’t make a really good impression on the readers: he is abusive, prone to shifts in moods that make him unreliable. Only that now Sebastian is trying to make amend, and he is involved in various supporting groups for LGBT youths, plus he is the quarterback of his college football team. Being him on the spotlight as poster gay boy is also making him an easy target for homophobic pranks that escalate in danger, until the time police is involved and Nicholas Stevens enters the scene. A werewolf, he soon recognizes Sebastian as his mate.

I like the unexpected role play the author picked for her character: while Nicholas is a werewolf, a cop, and older than Sebastian, he is also someone who doesn’t believe in no strings attached relationships, and so he is basically almost a virgin, basically waiting for his own mate to show up to build a 2.5 kid white fence house in the suburbs scenario. That doesn’t make him weak, or in need of an alpha male beside him, it’s more a choice of mind, a life attitude that he has decided to take. On the other side Sebastian may be a little more reckless in love, not to the level to make him a slut, only more “friendly”, but at the same time he is young, so he hasn’t had really the time to become disillusioned by love; he is ripe to be picked, and ready to commit. This matching of state of mind make the meeting of Nicholas and Sebastian perfect in time, plus it shortens their difference in age, making it almost nonexistent.

I’m not reading this series in order, so I’m the good example that it’s not necessary to engage for the whole series, but for sure this is a choral series, and all the characters from the previous and future books make appearances here and there, so to entice reader to go back or to continue in reading it.

Just notes because I don't have time to write a proper review:

What is her fascination with large age gaps? I hate it. Yes, it happens, but not nearly as often as she makes it out to be.

Cop tossed his gun on the couch. Um, no.

Not only would hate speech not be required to be printed in The Daily (the UW newspaper) in the name of free speech, it wouldn't be allowed to be printed. And the editor of The Daily doesn't have time to be a football player too. I'm pretty sure it's a full-time paid position. The paper comes out five times a week after all.

They don't keep you in the hospital for several days for being beaten up.

Not even going into all the errors and absurdities of the streets like flying down Mercer (a steep hill) without brakes but not hitting anything.

Artemis was a female goddess not a male.

Says he'd only topped twice and bottomed once but we know he was a slut and dated Wyatt for a while. So that makes no sense.

Wayne is such an asshole. It took Kurt and Austin a year to accept being male mates, they didn't know about fated mates, they had never been around gays, and their father was a homophobic asshole and it was still considered too long by everyone. Wayne's around gay men most of the time, has had a fated mate in the past so he knows what it's like (and it was a mate who rejected him so he knows what that's like, to0), and it's been years of rejecting and therefore hurting Collin. Then he has the gall to say it's all because, "I don't want to hurt Collin"? I used to like Wayne, but once this Collin stuff started happening a few books ago, he's gone down in my opinion and now I can't stand him. He's a hypocrite.

"Not one shred of evidence led to any leads." Stellar writing.

They mate and suddenly Collin, CFO of a corporation, is a scared little boy who needs to be taken care of and who does the cooking for Wayne who rarely even goes into the office.

They're cops based in downtown Seattle who three minutes after the call are on Mercer Island? Um, no.

Excellent peril which is the only reason I keep reading this series.

I have loved this series since page one of A Marked Man. Sandrine has such a great imagination, and her characters are so compelling. This book lives up to the series in every way. I love that we get to know more and more about the characters we love with each new book.
Sebastian is a foot ball player at the university, and he is best friends with Nikolai Markov. We got to know him in Wyatt and Preston's book, but he has changed a lot. He is not trusting of the police because of Nik. Now he is being harassed by an unknown person because he is gay. He is not alone in this, but he is getting it the most.
Nicholas is a werewolf, and also a cop. He is becoming disheartened because he is over 30 and hasn't found his mate yet. His friends are all becoming mated, and they are younger than he is. He has moved to Seattle in hopes that maybe that would help. It hadn't so far.
While investigating an apparent attempt on the football team, he goes to interview Sebastian. He is blown away to realize that Sebastian is his mate. The bond is strong, but Nick does not have it easy. Sebastian doesn't take the threat seriously enough and fights Nick at every turn. Plus, whenever Bastian is near Nick, he gets feverish and sick. No one seems to know what's going on, because Sebastian is human, isn't he?
Nick is afraid of what Wyatt will think since he used to date Sebastian and it went horribly wrong. Now that Sebastian is in trouble, lots of problems start happening and no one is immune to getting hurt. Sebastians dad seems to be one of the biggest problems.
What is happening to Sebastian, and who wants to hurt him? Can Nick protect him and save his mate? There are tons of surprises in this book, some you will never see coming! This is an amazing read, and if you have gotten this far, just buy all the books that are out for this series. You will be glad you did! This is one of my most favorite series' and I am in it for the long haul. Long live the werewolves!

Sebastian is a college football quarterback who's being threatened for being gay and Nick is the detective assigned to his case. He's a werewolf and Sebastian is his mate. Half of the story is about them discovering each other while the other - lesser - half is trying to find out who could be behind the threats and attacks. I just got the impression that they didn't spend as much time and effort trying to find the culprit.

I have mixed feelings about this book. There were some great moments and others that just dragged on and on. The reason for the 3 star rating is that I was laboring over 75% of the book and hoping that I'll have what it takes to finish it. It might have helped keep my attention if there was a little bit more action (and I don't mean bedroom action) but that doesn't come until waaaaaaay towards the end and was over in a blink of an eye.

Another issue I had is that with mate stories there's the insta-love factor, it doesn't matter if it's by one of the characters or both. While it's fine once in a while, in a series full of shifters and mates, it can be too much.

The blurb for this book drew me in. I have a thing for cops. *g* Since I've only read the first five books in this series, I felt a little left behind in this installment. (If you want to really understand ALL of the characters, you need to read the previous books.) While I enjoyed the romance between the two main characters, the story got bogged down in secondary characters. Truly, there were way too many! At time I thought I needed a flowchart for all the new characters the authors introduced, which just seemed like an excuse for more sequels. I would have liked the plot to focus more on Nick and Sebastian and their love story. There were some POV switches that were jarring and some grammar/punctuation issues that needed addressing, which caused me to lower my rating. Not one of the worst self-published books I've read, but not the best either. For me the first book in this series is still the best (that I've read so far).

The plot itself seemed more than questionable in some respects. But it made for an interesting story anyway.
Plus I actually found several people to like here. (Forgetting about past behaviours did help with that.)

Is anyone else amused by the interactions between Nick/Nicholas and Nik/Nikolai – simply based on the fact that they have the same name?

Hm, I want to know where wolf Jacob was storing his cell phone to be able to answer it after he shifted and put on those borrowed sweatpants.

A new power! Sure, why not.
Actually this one does not seem as overpowered to me. Could still be limited enough to remain interesting. But I seriously do await the moment when they start teleporting. :P

So this was nice.
It’s a pity that the next book holds little interest for me. Wayne has done precious little to endear himself to me thus far and I am not really into the whole historical angle right now.

I am finding as I have continued this series that 1. There is less and less action -- ie the Assassins part of the series and 2. more and more female hating -- ie the females are portrayed as crazed lunatics who have the children and then try to eat/kill them only to feel guilt ridden and commit suicide.

That's pretty depressing...I miss the early days (books) of this series where it was about these men finding the loves of their lives, and wasn't so much about them not being attracted to hateful she-itches -- as them just wanting to love their mates...why must the man-love series' have to revert to even including women when it shouldn't be about that but about them just loving who they love.

It makes me as a woman who enjoys man-love series' feel like this genre is becoming a hostile environment and I shouldn't/can't continue to read them. That's sad to me...:). So this may be my last read of this series for now...Just my feeling everyone....:)

A bit better than its predecessors.

In this story we meet Sebastian again, Wyatt’s old boyfriend. This time Sebastian is paired with one of the werewolf cops, Nick. They meet up, find out they are mates, someone is trying to kill Sebastian, Nick’s protective instincts kick in, Sebastian turns out to be a latent werewolf himself, they have hot sex, blah blah blah. Oh and of course a HEA.

It was not too bad, this one. Less cheesy than the others. This is very light fluff. If you’re having a bad day, these sappy books will make you feel better.

Nick and Sebastian. I liked these two. LOVED hottie bo bottie Nick. YUM! I also really dug his partner, Casey. He was funny.

The mystery behind the football team/Sebastian was good too. As well as, Sebastian's odd behavior while he was with Wyatt. Nice little perk that Bas picked up ;)

So we FINALLY get Wayne and Connor's story next :) I am looking forward to more of the assassins though, not that the wolves are bad, but I want more of the action packed stuff. I guess I have to wait until Lyons and Andrei's story?

Loved it!! My favorite character in this book was Nick's partner Casey O'Shea. He totally cracked me up. I also loved the banter between Nikolai and Brock. Even though the plot was predictable, it was still very entertaining and unfolded slowly instead of being rushed. Same holds true for the romance between Sebastian and Nick. No insta love and just the right amount of sex. Over all couldn't put it down and can't wait to read the next book.

I enjoyed this continuation of the Assassin/Shifter series. Likable MCs, hot sex plus a bit of a mystery/action plot thrown in made for an entertaining story. It's also fun to see who shows up in the story from previous books and then try to figure out who their mate will be from existing or new characters. Who knew there were so many gorgeous, hot, sweet and super nice guys running around up north? No wonder there are (at the moment) another 11 books in the series.

Another slightly over three stars. Felt like there was more action in this one and I liked the MCs. Note on the overall series, I am getting more and more twinges of Hagen and Glenn as the smaller/younger/weaker mates/husbands start to giggle more and more and seem to slightly regress in age as each book goes on. Luckily there has yet to be anyone on par with Cecil. *knocks on wood, crosses fingers, does a rain dance*

Another amazing book but no I'm not surprised. This series just gets better and better, one of the main things i love about these books is that even though they are part of a brilliant series they can be read as stand alone, however to really enjoy the full benefits I would strongly suggest reading the whole series in order from the beginning.

Nice feel good read. It was just missing something. I just didn't "fall" into it like I hoped. I still enjoyed the story and the characters. I just felt the relationship part of the story was a little flat. The "mystery" wasn't really good either. It could have been much better.

3 1/2 stars. I liked Nick and Sebastian together. Nick was great. The explanation of Sebastian's prior bad behavior believable with the story guidelines. It is a shifter story. The new talent - just more confusing story details. Cover is good.
