Super werewolf Wayne Maccon has been fighting his growing feelings for a certain blond man for years. Previously mated to a woman, Wayne just can't seem to take that final step and be with the man who is his new mate. But how long will Conner O’Rourke wait for him to make up his mind?

Conner O'Rourke has waited so many years for the alpha of the created wolves to claim him as his new mate. Even as his love grows, anger fuels him as he is turned away again and again by a man he can't seem to stop loving.

While Conner and Wayne sort out their feelings, there’s a third party who wants very bad things to happen to them both. When a business trip to Ireland goes horribly wrong, Conner realizes he may never get Wayne. What's worse - he may not survive.

I have been blessed in this life to not only have parents that support me, but kids that do as well. I grew up in a loving but "Old School" French household. My parents worked for the airlines (TWA) so I was able to see a lot of Europe as a kid. I moved to Seattle Washington at the age of 22 and stayed there for twelve years before moving to Alaska for a little over two. Fairbanks, AK was one hell of an experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go back! I spent a little over a year in South Carolina before moving back to Arizona. I then left for Kansas for five years and now reside in Arizona. I've been connected to the military in one way or another for over half my life and wouldn't change a thing about it. Writing has become my full time job and I've never been so happy doing a job I love and being able to do it in my jammies. I plan on writing until I dry up and die. Hopefully, that won't happen soon!

I was waiting for Wayne and Connor's story. I enjoyed these two characters and Wayne's GFY moments. There was good historical information about Wayne, the pack and also female werewolves. A good all around addition to the series.

Wayne and Connors story is emotionally really well written. Sure everything happens fast, but taking it as given, I enjoyed reading it. The main storyline is fully involved with all the previous main couples and with some new characters. Which I very much enjoyed. I liked the additional past characters of Wayne's family line. Really good addition to the whole picture of this created world. I liked it!
We could easily said, that Wayne finally pulled the stick out of his ass.

I loved all the twists and turns, the angst at the beginning, and the slow unwrapping of the mystery that is Wayne, his bloodline, and Connor. Add in another level of paranormal activity and more information on the newer guys and the plot just thickens. I am so glad that the original guys still make appearances and hopefully they continue to do so.

It’s saddens me that I can see the end of the tunnel. I don’t want this end.

This wasn’t bad in context of the series, but I did not like the direction the overall story takes here.
And, well, the protagonists are not terribly exciting.

Conner was okay, if somewhat bland. Wayne, though?

If his father told him about the second chance male mate, why the fuck was Wayne so surprised and then dragging his feet about it? Jeez. (Yes, I’ve read the book and I still don’t get it. He really is daft.) I mean Wayne’s been more than cool with all the gay guys from the start and even encouraged them to go with their feelings. The premise of this is ridiculous.
Plus, I might remember this wrong, but didn’t Wayne reminiscence about his ladylove in a happy way in an earlier volume? Hm.

Reality check. A hundred and sixty years are a long time, but not long enough to have lived in every freaking country in the world. Especially given the transportation of the time.

That Nikolai/Chance interlude is just weird. You do not interrupt the high-tension dramatic plot for a nice long chat between two people who spontaneously strike up a friendship and exchange life histories.

I find it strange how small all the packs turn out to be. I guess all the joining makes more sense under those conditions but what confuses me is how many wolves showed up on book two when things got tough, and how it was mentioned in book three that half of the reservation (or most?) consisted of wolves. So… it seems odd we only ever see very small packs in actuality.
Speaking of, how come the werewolves almost died out anyway? If it takes nothing more than a bite and you get more powerful and difficult to kill in the bargain, how come the world is not overrun by them already?
I guess I’m also not happy with this new overarching threat element. But that’s just me.

Still on the subject of wolves… Ancestor’s ghosts. Sure.

Eh, this ended up kind of rambling. Welcome to my brain. >:3

Honestly I had hoped for a little more from this one since Wayne is like super-werewolf and Conner is supposed to be so special and sweet but I never warmed up to Wayne as Conner's love interest. Now, Wayne as super-werewolf alpha protector father-figure, I like. I just never really felt the chemistry here or something. And this is the book where things start to get even more out there. Which I get that the series has to have somewhere to go but as with happens with a lot of series, the further they go the more outlandish they get. I know, thinking that things are getting a little unreal probably seems strange when you are reading a series with assassins and shifters but there you have it, that is how I feel.

But I will keep reading because this series/author is like a new form of crack (which I so didn't need, but oh well).

3.5 stars. This was clearly a book that I shouldn’t have assumed I could just jump into without following the progression of the series. Despite the fact that each book focuses on separate main characters, there is definitely a lot of history and introductions that accumulate over time. While it would have helped perhaps explain a few things more thoroughly, I still found this book delightful. I love shifter stories. I did question a couple of things about the story – such as, how the HR person could just choose to go along on a trip to Ireland when the boss didn’t ask for it; however, it was just one of those little things that made me go, hmmm. All in, I enjoyed this book and look forward to backtracking to start at the beginning of the series. ;)

FINALLY! God, it took forever for Wayne to come to his senses about Conner. And of course it can't be so easy that they finally get together and then they are happy. Oh no. There has to be some drama. There are new twists and new supernaturals and we get to meet Wayne's family and take a trip to Ireland! This whole story line with the rogues and all the other packs is going to lead to some confusion with the connections of all the characters. Pretty soon we're going to need a family tree at the front of the books.

This series continues to be a guilty pleasure for me and with all the characters that we keep meeting, I'm guessing it'll go on for a long time ;)

A lot more going on in this one. I knew Wayne's book would be big, though I didn't picture things happening quite like they did. Connor is such a sweetheart. He was breaking my heart early in the book, but Wayne finally sees the light and takes the reins. Even more newbies introduced. Must update my name chart as I dive into the next book.

I’m trying to figure out Paul and Mark stating their daughter Phoebe is Married to Luke Youngblood, Stephan’s grandson, who is Luke Youngblood. With Mrs. Gasq-Dion tragically leaving us; in limbo. Because Phobe and “Little” Stephan Youngblood was on the outs. And I don’t remember any grandchildren named Luke unless it was a middle name. What we lost was:
1. We never got to see a child from Andrei and Devin
2. A wedding with Colin and Nikolai
3. The story with Dasan and Raslan; which got confusing in one book because in the beginning of their meeting Dasan is clearly younger than Raslan.
Then in one of the 12 Olympian books they say Dasan’s older, yeah since when?
4. Never got Nico and Tanner romance and wedding because last book they were on outs.
5. There was never a book total dedicated to Seth/will romance or Jacob/Kory it was not finished from the Camp pride book felt like we were left hanging.
So many books; I want to cry because I bought all of her Santorno books and the Assassin/Shifter books than one day I said why haven’t I seen another book come out. I looked up Sandrine Gasq Dion on google and was floored. Two years had passed; I read she had passed and sadly, it hit me first there were so many stories left untold then I actually cried because I realized what her family and friends had lost.

Im enjoying this series but i really dont get how the actual created one Wayne could reject his mate for years. We arent talking weeks or months we are talking years. They live together. Then u get the back story about the rejection of his first mate and he went wondering for 40 years and get more context from the beginning of the series. And it makes even less sense on why he would do that to his second chance mate. Especially since its history repeating. Then after years. Lets repeat this. Years of rejection. From not just his mate but everyone. One-night one remark. N oh lets be mates. Literally worst let down of this entire series

Another great add to the series. Not my favorite couple so far, but I loved the story and we got to know more about the Universe as in Wayne and the Created Ones. Can't wait for the next.

Just notes because I don't have time to write a proper review:

Fates didn't wait 40 years. It was much shorter. He's just survived that long.

He was told about male mates when he was young. He was told not to reject his mate when he found the person. He was rejected by his first made so he know what it's like and he still hurts Connor. He is such an asshole.

How come Conner had not known Wayne was his mate?

"Cock was only seven and a half inches." Well Wayne's is 10" long and 5" in girth so apparently yes, he is tiny.

Why doesn't Connor have a place in the city? If I were him, I wouldn't be able to live with Wayne given the constant rejection.

Random irrelevancies thrown in.
“Are you hungry?” Wayne walked into the large kitchen. The stove was the type that had a grill on it if you needed it; it was Conner’s idea and Wayne loved it. He checked the stew, pulling the spoon out with a little bit on the end.
The stove information was pointless and distracting.
Sitting around a table with other werewolves was extremely interesting. He’d never thought in a million years they existed, and now he was one of them. He ate a whole rack of ribs by himself; in fact, they all did.
He's been a werewolf for many years and has been around other werewolves just as long. This is a totally bizarre thing for him to think. It's also poorly written.

Why does Connor act like no one loves him for him? He's got hot guys interested in him who actually know him.

He could not run most of the way across Denali in a couple of hours. Denali is 6 million acres, about the size of New Hamshire.

He was on both sides of the US Civil War? Not cool.

Got "another think coming" right.

Connor's sweet and kind but runs company with an iron fist?

"He looked like he had swallowed a hangar." Um, what?

Anna's corpse would stink too much to be near. Why didn't the women do anything with her body. Why didn't they close the gate? Some of them are sane and they all wanted to keep the insane ones inside the enclosure.

Finally have a female character but she's evil. A lesbian to boot.

Three completely different stories. First third is about the couple coming together. Second third is about rescuing Connor. Last third is all kinds of history and ongoing issues from previous books and rogues etc.

Why are the women, even the ones who fought alongside the men, doing the cooking and cleaning!

Too many characters. Can't keep track from book to book.

I don't understand the created ones. The family was there in Alaska but couldn't be seen? They were also there in Ireland and it took time to communicate but then they were physically there? They're not ghosts because they "never really die." What does that mean?

Riley is the CEO of a corporation but he acts like an effeminate airheaded twink who only thinks of babies and decorating and weddings.

"Wayne lie down." No, it's "Wayne lay down." She has had problems with this verb several times.

This is one of my favorite stories in the series. It is full of heart, suspense, intrigue, and alpha hotness. This book has everything a great read needs. I also love how the author expands the world these characters live in. I hope the series never ends. It is just an incredible book, I have reread it many times and I never tire of it.
Wayne is one of the created werewolves. His line came to be by being created by a Goddess and the fates. They were created to rule over all other werewolves. They never really die either. He is stronger and more powerful than any other wolf. When he was young, he fell in love with a woman. When she was dying, he changed her into a werewolf. She was his mate, but she never took to the bond. Some 40 years before, she was killed by poachers. Wayne had been alone ever since then. When he realized that he had a new mate, a male one, he didn't take to it very well. He has known for a few years who his mate is, he just can't wrap his head around it.
Conner is a very special man. He was created by the fates just for Wayne. His life has been hell. He was taken advantage of by every man he ever cared for. He has never had a relationship that was good. He was also turned into a werewolf by his old boss as punishment. The only reason he is alive is because Sawyer took pity on him when they fought Carson. Now he is part of Wayne's pack, as important as the beta. He knows Wayne is his mate, but like every other man in his life, Wayne doesn't seem to want him either. He is getting to the end of his rope waiting for Wayne to claim him.
When Conner has gotten fed up, he tells Wayne he is going to date Mitch because at least Mitch wants him. Wayne finally gives in to his feelings and they come together. Things are truly improving in Conner's life. His old friend from Ireland wants to meet and possibly invest in the company, so Conner flies to Ireland to meet with him. This is where things go bad. An evil, old witch wants to hurt Wayne because she was in love with his female mate. She had to wait until he claimed Conner to do the most damage. She enlists the rogue wolves to help. When Wayne realizes that Conner has been taken, all hell breaks lose. With the help of all of the allies, and the female wolves, Wayne will move heaven and earth to get his man back.
This book has many threads to the story. We get to learn more about the characters, and even the possibility of babies for the mated wolves. There is so much going on in this book, you cannot put it down. Will Wayne be able to save Conner? Will the witch be able to take any of them down? What about the female wolves? Are any more werewolves going to find their mates? Can the previous created ones assist the team? Grab your copy and settle in for a wild ride!

This time the plot is a little more complex than others, maybe cause the story focuses on Wayne Maccon, who is one of the leaders of this series, the Alpha of the Delani pack, born werewolf centuries ago, powerful and always caring of the others. During the previous novel the reader had the chance to know him and Conner, his mate. The trouble is that Wayne isn’t gay and he has to come to term with the fact that his mate is a man. What probably is the funniest thing is that is a trouble only for him, cause nor his friends or his own family has a problem with that.

Once the finding your mate is out of the picture, this time the plot focuses on rescuing Conner from a pack of rogue wolves kidnapping him. The quest to rescue Conner is an excuse to gather all the team, humans, werewolves, Navy Seals, firefighters, FBI, and whatever other dream hero you can think of. Plus the introduction of some future plots, like Nikolai and his mate, Chance and Logan, Mitch and Locke…

I found Irish Wishes to be a little more fast paced and with and higher breath, like the author decided to bring her characters out for a field trip, in another country, Ireland, and with a more adventurous plot. Wayne and Conner’s story, for how much romantic it was, was like a parallel plot, but there were other important threads, the female pack, the wish of many of the previous pairs to become fathers, the tightening of different series into one. For the first time while reading this novel I wished I had a genealogy tree, to be able to collect and put together all the pieces.

Anyway, for who is following this series in its wholeness, Irish Wishes is an absolute needed reading.

This stuff is getting better and better. I am not too interested or attached to the next few book pairing, so I am not sure if I will read them. But maybe my need to know the bigger story will win out.

This was good, again the timelines and a few of the facts dont make sense. I have a feeling the author is just adding new stuff, because when reading these stories back to back the powers and the paranormal stuff are just not adding up. Also if the mating bond is SO powerful that Preston had to be in a different STATE to keep from claiming his much younger mate, how the hell did Wayne wait for YEARS when it came to Conner?

Immediate edit after checking out who the nest 5 books are about: I will be reading it. I dont think I know Scott and his love interest well, and its not going to be easy to read through it but I will coz I want to read the other stories.

Ohhh I wanted to smack some sense into Wayne in a previous book! I thought, a nice sized 2x4 might do the job but in this book that turned into a freaking sledge hammer! Come on! But finally, finally Wayne got it right (almost too late) and got his man.

I loved Wayne and Connor in this book. It tied up some loose ends for me that I had been wondering about in a few previous books. Connor was fantastic and I loved how he began to stand up for himself instead of just letting everything happen.

Wayne of course is awesome (even if a bit hard headed for a time) and I loved that sneak peak at his past and meeting the family.

The story of Wayne and Conner. This is the only book in the whole series that I find disappointing. I had such high hopes for this book, but feel let down.

The story has come so far from the story with the skullblasters finding their mates and even the initial stories with the wolves, but its starting to feel like the Brac Pack series, extended too far.

May 2013, just finished for the 3rd time and I've enjoyed it more this time. One of the faults I had with this book originally was that there were so many characters that I was getting lost, you almost need a flow chart!

Fun read. I really enjoyed seeing so many of the old couples come together in this installment. Our baddie was pretty easy to pick from the beginning, and Wayne gets off lightly with his ignorance toward Connor, but all in all we had action, romance, history, a new location and some newbies for me to try to remember.

The one glaring issue I had was

Confusing as hell... Is it just me or did Logan and Locke's location constantly changed during the castle storming scene? Logan was sitting, watching over his hurt mate Mitch and Logan was supposed to be by the door holding watch, since Conner was trying to help Mitch heal. The next thing I'm reading, Logan was somewhere else with somebody else and so was Locke. This happened several times. When Wayne finally found Conner, Locke was still with him watching over Mitch. Maybe it was me.... oh well... NEXT!!!

This was a fantastic book. Love it!! More world building with new species added and new "players" too. I'm so excited where the series is going with the addition of witches, rogue wolves and maneaters and an impending war. More packs are wanting to be a part of the Maccon line which is the strongest of all the wolves. And I can't wait for Devin and Andrei to get their book. They absolutely hate each other. When they finally get together, it'll be like a nuclear bomb going off.

The story was well written if a bit rushed at the end. I was happy Wayne finally was able to get over himself and be with Connor. It could have been better but there were to many old friends and new one needing a book. It got confusing. I don't like being confused. I also didn't like how the woman are introduced to be brood mares for the men. That is a bit strange to me. They even have to be fenced in.

Storm The Castle

Besides assassins and wolf shifters, we have a witch and a warlock. She kidnapped the wrong one. Murder, mayhem and deception is added to the action in this story. Into this is a hot love story that has been years in the making. Which leaves a very good story to enjoy, I did. On to #13.
