An Accidental Adventure #4

We Sled With Dragons

“Thrilling and delightful!”—Pseudonymous Bosch, New York Times bestselling author

The Navel Twins are at it again, for the fourth and final time! This time their travels take them to the North Pole where they are forced to sky dive, go dog sledding, get rescued by a man in a hot air balloon who looks vaguely like Santa, and finally find the long-lost Library of Alexandria. If they can get through that, they might have a fighting chance at finally going back to being couch potatoes. But that’s a tall order for the world’s most unenthusiastic siblings.

We really liked the book and finishing Celia and Oliver’s adventures ! The ending to this stories felt a bit rushed and wasn't as good as the rest of the series. There was a good build up but the build up was better than the ending there were lots of "deus ex machina"-salvations !

Reading with the boys. Usually I let my boys rate the books we read, but I decided this book needed my rating too. For the record one of them rated it 4 stars and the other 4.5 stars. I am giving it 5 stars. As a parent, I love this series. It is such fun to read out loud and the author has done a fabulous job with character development that you can really get into each of the charaters personalities. I also love the way the author teaches vocabulary words and terms (an example in this book deus ex machina) in such a fun and interesting way that it doesn't even seem like learning. We are very sad to have come to the end of Oliver and Celia Navel's adventures, but we look forward to more books from C. Alexander London.

This was a fun end to a very entertaining series. Both of my boys enjoyed so many things and I loved that there were a number of new vocabulary words in each book that they absorbed and began using. (This one, in particular, taught them about deus ex machina in a way they could easily understand.)

Sounds like the last adventure for Oliver and Celia Navel. They escaped from the pirates and end up going to the north pole. Sir Edmunds is right behind them looking for the lost libraries of Alexandria. It was a nice tie in to the previous adventures they had in Tibet, the Amazon and the giant squid. Each of the four books are a differnt adventure. Although you do not have to read them in order, the flow of writing is smoother if the books were read in order.

The final book about the accidental adventurers. This one travels to the North Pole and meets Santa Claus and dragons. These are fun books and my son has loved them. I didn't notice this time but the other books have had a section at the end that talks about what is true and where elements of the book come from. I would probably give the book 3 stars but my son would give 4 or 5 so it gets four.

My son and I have truly enjoyed going on adventures with the Navel twins and their parents. What are we going to read now that the adventures are over?? :(

I liked how the writer of this book usedviking mythology in it but then toned it down a little

We loved this series. It was sad that it had to end. I don't think there will be another witty, funny, fast paced adventure series like it. My son and I highly recommend it.
