This book was unputdownable from start to finish, like I knew it would be. It's definitely one of Ashley & JaQavis' best.

I listened to the audiobook and the narrator was perfect, I love the voices she did for all the characters and her delivery of funny lines was spot on. One complaint about the audio though, THERE WAS NO EPILOGUE!

Luckily I had the ebook with me so I was able to read that last part, but the ending is cruel either way.

And yes, I'm used to it with these authors but that doesn't mean I don't want to cry and rip all my hair out because of the way it ended.

Poor Anari, she never had a good and easy life and had everything taken away from her. BUT THE REVENGE TROPE WAS SO GOOD. I'll be rereading this one in the future.

this book was so good

Held my attention from beginning too end it was like your on a roller coaster you enjoy the thrill of twist and turns and at times your mouth is left open . Can't count how many times I yelled omg . I knew t would be the downfall of the operation . I wish Anari would have told Von what she got herself into and everything wouldn't have went down the way it down I know this not the end though .

There is so many things I can say about this book, but I will say this book is really good. The author did an amazing job of writing believable and realistic characters. Honestly, this book is not a typical hood chick story this book has depth, secrets and jealousy. We all know the saying Everyone has a journey in their life. Some people journeys are more intense than others. Remi journey is well beyond intense. This author did an amazing job of given the main character a very good backstory of humble beginnings literally from rags to riches I did enjoy this audio audible book and it was hard to stop listening so I have started reading book 2, and I know it’s just gonna be just as good as book one.

I decided to read Dirty Money, because I had the pleasure of reading book three, The Supreme Clientele first, and wanted to know more about the Anari. I enjoyed the book, but there are few wholes that left room for assumptions to be made. For instance, Wade had it out for Anari for supposily killing his cousin Tiffany. As you can see in book two, Tiffany is still alive at the end. The writer moves on to book three, The Supreme Clientele, and only mentions the reason why Wade has it out for Anari, but there are no scenes in either book where Tiffany is actually killed. I also would have liked to read more about how the Supreme Clientele was formed. Other than those few, flaws the book did keep me interested.

Miss Anari Simpson, the embodiment of a good girl trying to endure her inebriated mother. Anari's plan is to simply mollify things until she can get her and her younger brother Jamal out of there.

A pursuit of Maurice Jones leads to Anari going from a gossiped about bum, to envied with any and everything she could ever want.

The whirlwind love affair of Anari and Maurice would end disastrously. Leaving a naïve Anari exposed to undetected enemies.

Two years of just chillin' in the house with Li'l Reese, watching movies, and eating ice cream. Anari, with the help of her loved ones; decides that it's time to come out of mourning, and give living another chance. Despite the fact that Anari has been incognito it appears that she's the unfortunate victim of life and its sleazy elements.

With lost becoming more unmistakable. Anari could no longer distinguish her squad from her opponents. Always being that girl that could roll with a thug and wipe up the blood, Anari resolves to upgrade her position.

Tony, and Monica materialize with the force of two officious twins, the hottest dope for half the price, the quartet soon knock heads and reconstruct their competitors. Tony is virtually untouchable. With the love of the streets, the team takes major hits. Can the infamous empire continue, or will that be the just punishment of settling scores.

The story at times really pulled at my heart it was sad at points.

Ashley and JaQuavis did a great job as always.

I read a bit about Anari aka Tony in Supreme Clientele and had to find out more about her in Dirty Money.

Anari started off as a good girl that turn bad after her son was murder by a woman that she became friends with Tiffany aka Shawna.

Anari decided to start selling drugs with her best friend Tanya aka Monica. She was involved with Von a locate drug dealer that she didn't trust because she thought he knew Tiffany.

So Anari set a empire for herself having Jesery think that Tony is a man when he really is a woman running things. Tanya goes to jail for murder but, before she gets locked up she started hating Anari alot for getting her into the drug game.

Anari is fixed on finding Tiffany she does but, she also goes thou a lot getting shoot at by a man that was supposed to protect her. Almost getting shoot at in the hospital but, in the meantime Von put a hit out on Tony that he didn't know was Anari.

Anari trying to kill Tiffany and Von trying to do the samething at the sametime.

At the end it's horrible. But, A & J did great with Dirty Money as always they are great writters.

When I read Dirty Money some years back it left a lasting impression on me. Here we are years later, I am reading this in my early 30s and it still HIT the same! Listen, the crazy plot twists and crazy deaths had me swiping the pages so fast. Lol. I will say, the authors are notorious for killing characters but when the baby was killed I was about to throw my phone, like come on. 😭I feel like Anira just wanted to have what she felt she was owed. She really was a likable character but she was quick to jump to conclusions and for someone that grew up in the hood she was too trusting and naive. I loved Von and I hated that he had to go out the way that he did. Anira really should have just told Von what was happening instead of going about things her way. It’s crazy how fast money changes a person because Tanya went out BAD. I will say, this could have easily been two parts because the first half of the book is about Anira when she is a, “good girl”. Then the second half is about her rise and fall as a, “bad girl”. It is a fast paced story that definitely kept me wanting more.

I loved it! I started this book this morning and finished it this evening! Awesome. Shocking. Dramatic. Jaw dropping. Unbelievable. Heartbreaking. All of these words describe this book. My eyes actually watered during a certain part, because I really felt for Anari. Her life got turned up side down and it was all so unnecessary if you ask me but it made for a great novel. I've noticed in Ashley and JaQuavis books that they like not only like to murder as many people as possible but they like to take their main character to hell, back, and then some! Death almost seems like it would be the easy way out! Amari went through sooooo much, and she took the people in her life along for the ride. This book flowed easily and just flew by. It should really be a movie! I am sure part 2 is in the works and all I can say is I HATE the character they decided to leave us with.

When I started reading this book it was a little slow to me. So I kept reading at it picked up in a great way. I really enjoying reading these book by the dynamic duo Ashley & JaQuavis. They tell a great story together. The book was a page turner at best. I never expected the book to end like that. I'm hoping for a part 2 in the near future. Great read.

This wasn't one of Ashley and Jaquavis's best books. It was probably the worst one I've read. It was very predictable at the end. The book kept me interested and was a page-turner, but it got annoying after awhile.

This book had so many twist and turns!!!! You literally could not put this book down. This teaches you that you never know what a person state of mind is, once something terrible happens or they have trauma after trauma after trauma! This is one of the best books I read for 2024!

Man i really enjoyed this book. Such a page turner. I have been ready Ashley and JaQuavis books for a while now so wanted to put the charters together after reading A dope mans wife. I have a girl crush on Anari I must admin. She is a dope mans wet dream, lol. The story took me down so many times while reading, at times i didnt know if she was thinking or dreaming or if it was really going on. I will say that I hated the end of the stoy not how i wanted the story to end, but after reading so many of Ashley and JaQuavis books I knew what was coming.

Anari when through so much that in the end she just wanted to call it a day and shoot the duces up. Anari never had a easy life, no dad a mother that had a drug habit. She played mom to her younger brother because without her he had no one. Anari ended up leaving home at the tender age of 14/15 things started looking up for a bit with Marcuse by her side. Then all hell breaks loose and he gets got. Now Anari is on her own again with a new baby. Von saves her not once but like 2 or 3 times before she's like its fate its meant to be lol. Things look up for Anari for a bit after Von comes into her life. Then a major thing happens and Anari is lost... in walks Shawna and her grimy ass.

Tayna/Monica I lol so many times while reading about her in the beginning of the story then they started getting money and I couldn't stand her butt.

I dont know how i felt about Marcuse he seems grimy to me.

I dont know about Von yet he did love Anari but like she said she made a milly in a year he was one on a milly for 5 years lol lol something is not right with your hussle game.

Shawna man this chick right here ugh thats all I have.

Lance definition on a down ass homeboy.

The twins one word loyalty.

Amazing story thats all I have to say, on to the next Ashley and JaQuavis books for me.. Carry on people.

A quick read with commotion, riches, authority, atrocities, and allegiances. F-I-N-A-L-L-Y, this is the characterization of REAL GIRL POWER! Ashley & JaQuavis are a fierce writing duo that shouldn't be underestimated.

I absolutely enjoyed this book. I do not like to read ghetto books with extreme amounts of slang and I'm glad this book didn't. This book takes place in New Jersey and tells the story of the main character who goes by the name of Anari Simpson who wants to make crawl her way to the top of the "game". There were many themes expressed throughout the book such as greed, power, revenge, betrayal and many more. I found the ending of this book to be quite arbitrary but I believe that a good book is supposed to alter your emotions and draw you into the book. I recommend this book for anybody that loves realistic fiction because many people may be able to relate to certain situations that take place in this book.

I don't care what book it is of theirs, I can't get enough of Ashley and JaQuavis. As a duo or independently!!

DIRTY MONEY was the book that set it off for them and this is my second time reading it. My girl Anari has been through the fire and back again. When we first meet Anari, she is somewhat of a timid young lady with a rough home life. As the book progresses we watch this, for lack of a better phrase, ugly duckling shed her fears and insecurities and become a boss bitch in her own right!

I love the way this story played out! I have read almost all of A&J's titles and have yet to be truly disappointed. Their characters blend well author each other and the plot has plenty of twists and turns to keep readers on the edge of their seats!

Here is another stupid storyline about drug dealers stupidity being played out for the readers displeasure. The females in this book tries to come off so hard but they are so outrageously stupid...worst than the men. There were times I got so frustrated with Anari I had to skip pages just to get through the stupid things she was doing. Such as not telling the people she care the most about her plans to get the women who took her baby from her. I was so looking forward to see how she was going to die. That's how much she got on my nerves. And Monica's weak self trying to be a bad chick. I was just so disappointed in reading this book.

This is a pretty quick read- my first by this author. I was satisfied with the whole book with the exception of the ending. I'm quite open to endings others than the usual "happy" ones that most authors tend to use but I didn't like this ending at all . Maybe it was just me and I hope so because I'm sending this to a friend and I want her to enjoy it but I didn't like it. The rest of the book was really fast-paced and I felt myself really having a lot of sympathy for Anari. I'd recommend to anyone who likes drama filled street-lit.

I read this book over ten years ago & just like then I still find it all over the place. It could've been two different books because Toni Simpson was a big sister to littler brother Jamal who had been looking for a way out of the poverty & despair her young life turned out to be.
She met then moved in with her drug dealer bf, Maurice & had a baby: lil' Reese, who'd she would be left to raise after Maurice had been killed during a set up.
Somewhere down the line Toni turned to ANARI & she & her bestie Tiffany turned out to be Monica or Shawna when they moved from New Jersey to Michigan to start up their own game plan of making money off somewhat gullible dealers & their bulging pockets/wallets.
Tiffany/Shawna went to jail for what she blamed on Toni/Anari out of her jealousy for her former friend, 7 she wants revenge.
Anari meets Von who had first been a target her planning to stick him for his paper, but after her son is kidnapped then killed, her little brother Jamal trying to come up with the ransom demand by the kidnapper for his nephew Lil Reese, tried & failed to rob a bank & got shot up for his troubles by security/police on the scene, Von proves to be a man Anari needed in her life. Von helped her through all the deaths of her son Lil Reese & brother Jamal, while trying to find out who this TONI was who had robbed him & is believed to had killed someone he had been close to, unaware that TONI IS ANARI-A WOMAN HE HAD FALLEN FOR.
Now, there's an ending that many readers from that era found shockingly heartbreaking.
BUT THOSE OF US WHO READ "SUPREME CLIENTELE" & "THE CARTEL 7"KNOW THAT THE STORY OF ANARI & VON DID NOT STOP AT THE ENDING FOR "DIRTY MONEY"!
I LIKE ANARI BETTER WHEN SHE WAS PAIRED UP (AS FRIENDS & BUSINESS PARTNERS-NOT ROMANITCALLY OR SHE WOULD SURELY FEEL MY MURDER MAMA MIAMOR'S WRATH!)WITH CARTER JONES IN THE CARTEL 7! THE WAY THAT ANARI HANDLED ALMOST ALL THE DETAILS OF CARTER'S 'FUNERAL' & HAD SEEMED TO COMFORT A GRIEF-STRICKENED MIAMOR AT THE GRAVESITE, SOMETHING TELLS ME THAT THAT ANARI/CARTER MATCH UP AIN'T OVER NOT BY A LONG SHOT!

This book is good in a madea Tyler Perry type of way. The writing is pretty horrible and none of the characters are like able but this book keeps you on the edge of your seat. if you like poorly written action packed drug dealer fantasy urban fiction you will like this !

I’m giving 4 stars based on solely on the genre and lovers of this genre will LOVE this story. But again the writing and pace is not great .

But this is such a frustrating story . Horrible from start to finish and I was so mad at the ending . To go through all that and get this ending really upset me and I wish I never read the book at all.

I will not be finishing the series . This book was enough headache for me .

It’s why I hate Ashley Antoinette as an urban fiction writer . I’m literally having an anxiety attack at what will happen next and to get to that ending was a soul crusher and the fact I hate all the characters makes the story a chore at times but she does a great job of keeping you interested in what will happen next .

I’m never reading anymore of her books again lol I should of known better after my attempt to read the butterfly series

Where to start?

So I'm not going to talk about the beginning because everything was okay / Well now the arrival of Tiffany in Anari's life.... Is it normal to be stupid like that, to be so naive despite all the clues?

Well, after everything she went through it really hurt me but I thought she really treated Tanya like a dog
Even if Tanya is really too stupid, she's the one who gets into trouble, who makes bullshit after bullshit and wants to put it on the others...so now the ending, the fact that Von and Anari will never be able to explain themselves is horrible and ESPECIALLY LANCE'S betrayal ??????????? It really shocks me and it pisses me off that Tiffany got away with it.

And in the end Anari the fact that she did her business was completely useless

And I really think if Tanya hadn't screwed up and if Anari and Von would have explained themselves it would have ended so well.

But I still liked the book a lot

This book was amazing, but I can't stand the ending. I wanted to give it 4 stars because the ending was so ass, but that's the thing--it's not ass because it's poorly written, it's ass because it's so tragic and infuriating. I was just going to read this book and not bother with the rest of the series, but now I'm invested.

A few notes on the writing: it is very simple and direct. Almost every sentence conveys either action or dialogue, and does not focus on super descriptive, superfluous details. That being said, it puts clear visuals in your mind of what's going on; I felt like I was watching a movie. I consider myself a little bit of a book snob, but I will take simple, easily readable language over ineffective purple prose any day of the week. There are also a couple typos, but that doesn't really bother me. I'm definitely looking into Ashley and JaQuavis's other books very soon.
