"A modern-day retelling of D.H. Lawrence’s controversial early 20th century tale Lady Chatterley’s Lover, Belle sets her story in Palo Alto, California where Connie Chatterley is torn between marrying her tech genius boyfriend or giving him up for a fling with a masculine, muscular fitness coach.”
Logan Belle is my pen name. It’s the name I use when I only want to think about romance. My heroines go through lots of ups and downs – after all, true love is full of drama. But they also discover that it’s never too late for love, great sex, and happily ever after. Visit me on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/loganbelleau... or at www.loganbelle.com
Lady Chatterley's Lover was one of my first forays into erotica...and compared to modern erotic books, it wasn't too taboo. But I read it with my eyes wiiiiide open. And I remember how easy it was to pardon Lady Chatterly for her infidelity. Lawrence made her a victim of circumstance, and my heart broke for her.
In this retelling of the classic story, there is a very loosely based connection, I think. Lady Chatterly's husband was unable to love her in more ways than one, but in this book, Connie's boyfriend is just busy. It's a choice that Connie and he make to not be intimate, whereas in Lady Chatterly's Lover, sex wasn't an option at all. So Connie's indiscretions, while they do pull some sympathy from me, aren't as excusable as the original.
For this installment of this serial novel, the scene is set for Connie to look somewhere other than her unsatisfying long term relationship with her live in boyfriend. Cliff is a tech nerd hottie who is starting up a major social networking site, and while he sure does love Connie, he has no time for her and no interest in sex any more. So when Connie meets Mellors by chance at the local gym, her sex starved body is immediately attracted to his obvious virility. Mellors is, in a word, INTENSE! He's a hard character to connect with, because he doesn't speak much in this installment. He's basically an object of lust at this point.
So my interest is definitely piqued at the moment! This is an interesting start, and more erotic than I anticipated, but with some real meat to it also. I would actually recommend this to readers who have never even read the original Lady Chatterly's story. You won't be lost at all, as this story stands on it's own merit.
(Source: I received a digital copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis. Thanks to Pocket Star and Edelweiss.) The last thing Connie Chatterly was expecting at her graduation party was for her boyfriend to announce that his company needed to move to Silicon Valley, and that he wanted her to go with him.
Leaving behind New York, her place at Art College, and her friends and family, Connie finds herself not waking until noon, and with nothing to do, getting a little fat. Things with her boyfriend Cliff aren’t going well either. He spends every waking moment at the office, and when he comes home, he takes his laptop and i-phone to bed with him. Even worse, they haven’t had sex in weeks, and when Connie tries to make a move, Chris loses his er… mojo and blames it on stress.
Connie wants sex though. She wants to feel wanted and beautiful, she wants to feel like she matters to someone, and when she sees a sexy trainer at the gym – Mr. HTFU (Harder The F*ck Up), it’s suddenly him that she’s fantasising about in the shower. Connie doesn’t want to cheat on Cliff though, she loves him, but how long can she go without feeling wanted? And is Mr. HTFU too good to resist?
This story is a retelling of Lady Chatterley’s lover, a book that I have always wondered about but never read. I debated whether I wanted to read this one or not, but eventually curiosity won out, and I decided to pick it up.
The story is mainly told from Connie’s point of view, and I quickly started to love her and know exactly what she was going through. Poor Connie was basically ignored by Cliff while he was doing major work to make his company a global name, and having left New York and her whole life behind for him, Connie had nothing to occupy her time. Even worse was the fact that even when she put in the effort and tried to spend time with him, or took an opportunity to try and make love with him, he ultimately…. Um, deflated! And their passions were brought to an untimely end. I couldn’t help but feel sorry for Connie, and it was obvious that she was doing her best to try and save their relationship. When her sister recommended that she just find someone else to occupy her time, Connie argued and said that she wasn’t going to cheat, but ultimately, she needed some attention.
Cliff was pretty focused on his company, which I totally understood, but at the same time he was letting his relationship die. The relationship really needed a little bit of effort from him to keep it going, but he just wasn’t paying Connie any attention at all.
Mr. HTFU was very sexy, and it was easy to see why Connie began thinking about him, even though cheating is not the answer to relationship problems.
I really liked the way this story was written, and found it really compelling and difficult to put down. There was constant tension in Connie’s relationship with Cliff, and the constant question over what Connie was going to do next, and whether anything was going to happen with Connie’s personal trainer! This story is told in a series of novellas, and this one ends on a very sexy note which definitely leaves you wanting the next book!!! Overall; a well-written, slightly-erotic contemporary romance novella, that will leave you wanting more. 8 out of 10.

SUMMARY. Connie Chatterly has been the happiest girl in the world. Being with a man she loves, him finally starting a company that they have been dreaming about and her graduating - nothing can be more perfect. But everything changes when Cliff has to relocate for the company in order to make it more successful. Connie cannot seem to get Cliff to get his eyes away from his phone and Ivy, his tech-but-hot-assistant, is always around. All she can do now is go to the gym and that's where she meets Mr. HTFU (Harder The F*ck Up) - the dreamy and totally hot CrossFit trainer that makes her heart stop. Fantasizing about him in the shower and how hot his flesh might be is killing her and she wants to do something about it and feel wanted.
THOUGHTS. Totally loved it. Not a lot to say since part 1 was pretty short but I enjoyed author's writing and the last sex scene was pretty hot. Looking forward on reading next few parts to find out what happens later with the sexy guy.
I was received this book by the publisher on Edelweiss and after reading the synopsis for Part I, I was eager to give this book a chance. This series is divided to 4 parts, each part being 80 pages long. This story is about a girl named Connie who is graduated from college and has just gotten accepted to the grad school of her dreams. She had an amazing boyfriends who she shares an apt with. He is an entrepeuner who is being called the next Mark Zuckerberg. Her life is perfect and she is about to have the perfect graduation party. Then everything comes to a hault, when Cliff her boyfriends tells her that he wants to move his company to CA and he wants her to go with her. She is torn between being the supportive girlfriends and living out her dream of going to Grad School in New York. And being the supportive girlfriend that she is she chooses to accompany Cliff out to California.
A few months down the line, they are living in California, and Cliff becomes extremely busy and barely has time to spend with Connie. Their relationship starts suffereing in every sense of the word, and Connie struggles to make her own life in California. After spending hours bored each day, she starts going to the gym adn meets a Crossfit trainer who awakens the passion in her life that she's missing. But this new found passion for Crossfit and working out, also leads to passion for the coach that is training her, which will end up rocking Connie's world.
What I liked: I enjoyed watching the stuggle Connie felt day to day of being a good girlfriend and being true to herself and her own needs. I think many women can relate to this struggle each day. This story also had interesting side characters and side stories that made the story come to life. Yes there are also some great sex scenes and Part I, ends at a HUGE cliffhanger.
This book basically starts out with Connie having to agree to move to California with her boyfriend Cliff. She gives up her dream of going to Graduate School so that he can obtain his dream. However once she is in California, she has nothing to do and becomes bored. She has no friends, no job and her sister lives back in New York. Cliff is consumed with work and basically ignores her. Cliff is so stressed out that he no longer can perform in the bedroom which leads Connie to believe he no longer wants her. She decides to start taking CrossFit from Coach Mellors who is very hot. Connie starts a steamy affair with Oliver and can’t get enough of him. She is really struggling with her love for Cliff and her lust for Oliver. Unfortunately, Connie doesn’t know that Ivy and Tommy are plotting against her because they feel she is a bad influence on Cliff.
It is hard to root for Connie and Cliff because you never really get to know how strong their relationship is before the move. You really only see how lonely Connie is and you can understand why she starts the affair. It is annoying that Cliff is so smart but couldn’t see how manipulative Ivy is. But when they both start to realized their mistakes, you can’t help but root for them to find their way back to one another.
I was a fan of Logan Belle's "Blue Angel" series, and have to say that Logan's "Miss Chatterly" did not disappoint. Because I'd read D.H. Lawrence's "Lady Chatterly's Lover" a few years back, I was unsure of how any modern day retelling would be handled, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The story takes place in Silicon Valley, with just the right mixture of that world's realism and glamour. The reader gets to follow the main character Connie as she goes from her college sweetheart innocence to some very steamy situations out in California. The inner turmoil of all the characters is especially vividly rendered, making this an extremely fun read!

My Take
It's impossible to read just one of these serialized "reimaginings" of LADY CHATTERLEY'S LOVER; they each end so abruptly that regardless of how you feel about the one you just finished you may feel compelled to begin the next immediately.
It's been a long time since I read D.H. Lawrence's erotic classic. Honestly, I don't recall much more than one lover saying to the other that if they share atowel they will quarrel. I still don't get that, even after 30 or so years.
These episodes in this serialization fell like a blend of THE SOCIAL NETWORK, and maybe something a bit sexier than THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA. Much like what I recall of the original, it's more personal drama than erotica. There are about two episodes of sex. They aren't adventurous even though they are outside. Then there are some failed sexual encounters.
Essentially, it's about giving up one's own dreams. That's what happens to Connie. She and Cliff come upon an idea, it gets big but he's the only one with any day to day involvement in it. He hires and "All About Eve" type of assistant, Ivy, who drives a wedge between the two and whose future rides on the same gravy train as Cliff's and Connie's. Ivy is a grasping, selfish bitch. Cliff is a kinder, gentler version of Mark Zuckerberg.
They have to move away from her schooling, her future for what should be their future. But, she is sort of unformed yet; unable to pick up her own pieces once they move. I can't determine if the author just wrote unadventurous sex because that's how she writes or if it's a reflection of her immaturity. When I say unadventurous I don't mean where they have sex, I mean how.
Connie is a little girl who seemingly has no self outside her life with Cliff. From what I remember of the original, the woman was also ignored and immature. But she was also socially caged and Connie is not. Maybe you can't re-imagine a story as dependent on class-ism and the lack of personal and social freedoms afforded a woman in the early 20th century as Lady Chatterley would have been, when those conditions are so different.
When Cliff's business starts to take off and they have to move to Silicon Valley she can't get into art school, he's's really busy making a gazillion dollars and she's all bummed out and lonely. JOIN A FREAKING CLUB! TAKE A CLASS! GO TO THE MOVIES! Being whiny and depressed makes for a relationship minefield. This chick needs to pull on her so-called Big Girl Panties or grow a pair. She also needs to corner Ivy and set her effing straight. Why isn't she doing Ivy's job? Ivy has no more skills in the VP of Operations field than Connie would have had.
Seriously. Connie is an immature whiner with poor decision making skills. Yeah, Cliff is clueless, but you know what, he's a guy, a geeky guy, thrust into a big, stressful world. Instead of annoying him and begging for time, Connie needs to help him and GET HER OWN LIFE!
I remember being young and moving far from home (and I married a physicist/engineer). We only had one car and I had to learn to drive it (it was a standard and I had only drive automatics). We didn't have any money, so we couldn't do much in the way of recreation. I was very young, but I went out and got a job (a terrible job). I joined a club. When we moved again, I got another job (also terrible). We entertained people from our neighborhood and work. I joined a garden club. I made tons of mistakes but I didn't sit around whining ALL the time.
This girl has some money, a car, a nice house, decent clothes. She's an artist and has free time -- something most artists would kill for. She complains that her guy can't get it up when they try to have sex after he's been at work for 16 hours.
Really, I found her grating: no better in her own way than the other woman, Ivy. If you put the two together you might get a decent character out of it.
I feel I need to go back and reread LADY CHATTERLEY'S LOVER.
Also, I have to mention the very weird narrative voices: this is written in the first person when we are with Connie and the third person for Ivy. It is a strange device and I found it threw me for a loop.
I am honestly torn by this series. It certainly wasn't what I expected. It is either very cutting edge or another attempt to jump on the youthful ingenue having sex bandwagon. I don't know if I am astute enough to tell the difference; not that I am not smart but I can fall prey to "pop-culture" as much as anyone; after all, I enjoyed Fifty Shades while many of my friends thought it was crap. The first episode ends with Connie doing something massively stupid. The second one ends on a startling cliffhanger. I am reading the third and fourth parts and will let you know how it goes.
I'm usually pretty hesitant about serials, initially. Some of them are sloppily cut up or they seem unnecessary as though an author is trying to stretch sales. I've had good experiences and bad experiences but so far, this is a good experience. I've never read D.H. Lawrences's book so I cannot offer a comparison between them but this is interesting nonetheless.
The story follows Connie Chatterley who is transplanted to Palo Alto when her boyfriend strikes it big. He is the creator behind a new social media platform "Chatterbox" and is looking to grow his company. Connie has to give up her dreams in order to remain with him, which she does willingly. Unfortunately, once there she finds herself alone and abandoned as her boyfriend grows busier and busier. She turns to fitness and meets Oliver Mellors who tempts her into an affair.
This section details the move, the feelings of abandonment, and the beginnings of the affair. I have to be honest and state how much Connie irritated me. She just sits there and lets the world punch her in the face. She gives up everything for a boyfriend who didn't bother to consider her in the slightest. She stays silent when she's screaming in agony on the inside because her boyfriend is preoccupied. She is almost attacked verbally and psychologically by her boyfriend's assistant, yet she says nothing.
I have no clue if Connie will ever get a showdown with Ivy (the assistant) but seriously she needs one. I have no clue if or when she'll have a showdown with her boyfriend Cliff, but I can only hope she has a kickass sex life with Mellors. She deserves it! The one person who is supposed to consider her feelings seems completely oblivious. I'm not a fan of cheating stories but she should have just left the idiot.
The writing is a tad stilted but it improved as the story progressed into Palo Alto. At the beginning I struggled to get into the story but once Mellors was introduced and Tom Dukes (a businessman involved in investing in Chatterbox) I grew more and more interested. Clearly Dukes is bad news and I'm curious to see how that plays out. I also cannot wait for Cliff to wake up and hopefully kick Ivy to the curb. She's not horrible but I don't care much for her.
And the sex? While the chapter didn't contain loads (here's hoping for the future!) there was the one scene between Mellors and Connie. I think I re-read it three times because it was animalistic and hot! I just hope each encounter stays just as spicy if not more so.
I would recommend this for people who like the Classics and love a good retelling. It also is put into nice chunks of about 80 pages which is perfect for lunch breaks, waiting in line, or sitting in a waiting room. Difficult to get into, but the sex is smoking hot.

Hungry is the first book in a series of novellas that is a modern-day twist on Lady Chatterley's Lover by D.H. Lawrence. Logan Belle has written several books, including the popular Blue Angel Series. Belle is a new-to-me author. I was intrigued by this book because it's a re-telling of classic book by Lawrence. I'm also intrigued because this book is part of a serial. This isn't a new concept, since it was invented by Charles Dickens, but it's the first time I've read a book in this format. Hungry is a book about a woman who essentially misses the intimacy shared with her boyfriend. Not just the physical intimacy but also the connection and synchronicity two people share when they're in a relationship. Connie Chatterley moves to California when the social network company founded by her boyfriend Cliff, starts to hit it big. Cliff's life is taken over by his work. He spends all his time with his assistant, Ivy, who is also not Connie's biggest fan. Connie feels alone and abandoned by Cliff. So in effort to release some of the 'frustration' she goes to a gym where a sexy trainer catches her attention. This is a quick, enjoyable read. It didn't take me long to get sucked into this story. I know some of you are probably wondering if this book should be labeled erotica or not. I'm going to say 'not'. So far this story isn't any more racy than most romances on the shelves. I really enjoyed Connie's character. I think Belle does a great job in conveying the feeling that most people have felt in their relationship at one time or another. I think that this book is a good parallel to the original Lady Chatterley, although some of the themes that Lawrence incorporated don't really transition well here, such as class distinction. Belle hits on the themes a bit, and they may become more apparent in the upcoming novellas. This is a book I'd recommend. I for one can't wait to find out what happens in the next book. I'm hooked! The good thing about a serial is you don't have to wait a year for the next book to come out! Read more at http://www.2readornot2read.com/2013/0...
I'll be the first to admit not a serial girl: I don't mind series books, but soap operas aren't my thing. Unless it is a series by Logan Belle. When her Lady Chatterley Part I: Hungry came into my hands, I was eager to dive in even though I knew I'd have to wait to read the next installment.
As with other Belle's work, the characters are well-defined and likable. Even the guy who has long lost interest in his supposed life partner. Connie Chatterley uproots her life to move across the country with her long term boyfriend, Cliff, for a business opportunity. It seems he is a tech genius focused on his business and the possibility to change their lives forever financially. Unfortunately, this comes at a cost as the more effort he puts into the business, the less he puts in his relationship with Connie. Eventually, it is as though Cliff treats Connie as if she wasn't there.
With Connie being alone, depressed, and stuck in a rut, she turns to the gym. She starts having fantasies about her CrossFit coach, Oliver. And the coach gives her what she needs, which is a kick in the butt workout routine. Just as she thinks she can't go on, he steps in and sparks do fly between them. The question is will she let it continue or should she end it. And she questions if the feelings about Oliver are purely physical.
Since this is a series, I'm dying to know if Ivy, the office assistant with her digs on Cliff, will turn out to surprise me and be a character I actually like, and whether Cliff will change and be the man and partner Connie needs. Since I have not read the original Lady Chatterley, I'm at a loss as to what to expect. Which in a way is good since I'm not having any judgements on the characters' actions in the story.
The first part of the installment was fun and a page turner. Just like The Gin Lovers, the story is produced in installments. The other parts to this saga: Dirty; Torn; and Spent. To say I'm looking forward to reading the next one is an understatement. And Belle knows her readers can't wait...
This is the first book in a four part series. I was told this was a retelling of Lady Chatterley's Lover, which I know nothing about. So with that said, I didn't know what to expect. The blurb itself didn't help me, which is fine since sometimes I like to go into books blind.
Connie Chatterley has been dating her boyfriend Cliff for about four years. Cliff is uber smart and dropped out of college to start a company called Chatterbox. I guess it's something like Twitter, only better. Things for Cliff and Connie start to go astray on the night of her college graduation party. Cliff shows up well past the start and announces that he needs to move from New York to Silicon Valley for his company. He wants Connie to go with him, disregarding her future plans. Reluctantly, Connie agrees to go with him. But life for Connie gets worse in CA. She has no job and no friends. Pretty depressing for anyone. But things are about to get worse.
Cliff becomes more and more absorbed by his business that he has little or no time for Connie. He doesn't even seem to recognize what position she's in. Honestly, it's like she's not even there. As a way to get out and about she goes to a gym where she meets Oliver Mellors, an extreme fitness coach. Connie starts to fantasize about her and Oliver. Having a fantasy is okay, right?
Miss Chatterley, Part I: Hungry is the setup for the rest of the series. It's a story of what happens when one girl feels she's pushed to the edge and does something she never thought she would.
Oh. There's also a cliffhanger.... At the worst possible moment. I mean a OH MY FREAKING G**, I can’t believe that just happened moment and cliffhanger. Luckily, all the books are out, so I just have to grab the next one.
Hungry, Miss Chatterley #1 by Logan Belle * I received this ARC free from Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review*
Connie and Cliff have been together for four years in New York. Connie has just graduated from college and has plans to start her master’s program in the fall. Cliff is an up and coming software designer and his future is in Silicon Valley. Can he convince Connie to give up her dreams and family and follow him to California?
Connie is having trouble fitting in now that they have moved to California. It seems like Cliff doesn’t desire her anymore, much less have any time for her. He spends all his time at Chatterbox with his assistant Ivy and Connie is feeling dejected. She and Cliff are invited to a party at Tommy Dukes house but things with the Mr. Dukes aren’t what they seem. He has an agenda where Cliff is concerned and Connie doesn’t trust him. Ivy, on the other hand, has become his eyes and ears into Chatterbox.
After seeing the CrossFit trainer at the local gym, Connie decides to give it a try. The sexy trainer, Oliver Mellors, puts her through the paces and she almost doesn’t go back but there is something about him that pulls her back for more. After a particular grueling session in the park, things between them are taken to a new level and it could jeopardize her relationship with Cliff.
I haven’t read the original Lady Chatterley’s Lover but I loved this take on it. The first installment is mainly an introduction to the characters and background about the situation. It’s easy to see the connection between Cliff and Connie from the beginning and the issues that they are facing are issues that a lot of people face in everyday life. The characters are likeable and interesting and I wanted more, especially the way the first installment ended. I give Hungry, Miss Chatterley Part 1 3½ Flaming Hearts.
Connie Chatterley arrives in Silicon Valley with her boyfriend, the genius Cliff. But as Cliff becomes more focused on his work, and not paying any emotional or physical attention to Connie, Connie is totally alone and lonely. That is, until she meets Oliver Mellors- ex-marine, physical coach and all around hotness. Mellors awakens something in Connie that she thought was gone and starts down a path she doesn't know how will end. Nor does she know how she wants it to.
I've never read the original D.H. Lawrence classic, so I can't compare the two. But this first book was so much fun.
Hot, raw and a fast read, we're thrown into Connie's mind as she leaves her NYC comfortable surroundings, friends and family and begins to live in Silicone Valley. There, she's lonely and Cliff seems to totally forget her existence completely.
Then there's Ivy, Cliff's assistant and second in command, who is just bad news with a capital B!
Cliff is sweet, yet absentminded character. He does seem to love Connie, but he is so selfish and consumed by his growing company, he doesn't see anything around him. Coupled with a vengeful second in command, and Connie is pushed to the background, a viewer in her own life. Now, of course Mellors is hot. Of course he's bad ass.
But I'm not sure I totally buy whatever their attraction is. There's nothing really special about Connie or Mellors, in fact. So character wise, they are not very interesting. However, once they start their relationship, it's fast, furious and sexy. But character wise, I feel like something is missing.
Overall, the first installment in the series (this is a four part serial) is strong, engaging and a fast read.
I was a bit unprepared by what I would find in this story. Sometimes it’s better going in blind and I’ll admit the only thing I looked at about this book was the “modern day re-telling of Lady Chatterley’s Lover”.
Miss Chatterley is the story of Connie Chatterley. Originally from New York, living in the city with her boyfriend, she is suddenly faced with a big decision and a huge lifestyle change. Her boyfriend, Cliff, created Chatterbox, think Twitter, and is offered a huge deal by an investor in his company which forces him to move to Palo Alto, CA. Of course he wants his girlfriend to follow.
But after the big move, Cliff is engrossed in work and leaves Connie a bit unhappy. HUNGRY tells us about Connie’s struggles while her relationship is in a slump and how she must either follow her heart or go after what she needs.
I was captivated from the start. HUNGRY is real and thanks to Ms. Belle’s smooth storytelling I dove completely into Connie’s mind and story. Her struggles felt real and I was torn about her decisions, much as she was.
MISS CHATTERLEY will be a serial, and considering some people are not huge fans of the term, at least consider that this story is told in only 4 parts. But be warned, Ms. Belle knows hot to keep you coming back. The master at end of part cliffhangers, this one might also leave you crying for the next one! Me personally? CANNOT WAIT!
The story of Facebook meets erotica. Miss Chatterley is a serial about Connie the girlfriend of wunderkind Cliff. Connie is slowly being pushed out of Cliff's life by his right hand person, Ivy. Ivy is a convincing bitch. She knows she is worthless unless she can ride Cliff's coat tails. It's despicable.
Ms. Belle is spends this first section setting up her characters. Each character knows it part quite well and is integral to the story. It is unfortunate the characters are so underwhelming. The only character who is engaging is the personal trainer, Mellors. He's the enigmatic hardass crossfit coach kicking Connie's recently rapidly increasing bottom.
This plot of this story just starts to take off and the tale ends. The book summary entices, but the initial set up and introduction of characters is bland and frustratingly annoying. The pettiness from Ivy and the neglect from Cliff overshadow Connie. Connie as a lead is weak because she is the proverbial female who sacrifices her career and aspirations for the man she loves. Unfortunately, it is a man who no longer spends time with her or remembers she exists. This is not a sexy erotic novel. This is a downer train wreck.
The erotic part is apparently the infidelity between Mellors and Connie. Unfortunately there is a bit of coitus interruptus in the form of a cliffhanging ending. I would recommend this story not to have been broken up into four different parts. It's because the first part isn't quite alluring enough to encourage the reader to pick up the next parts. If this were combined into one cohesive novel, the book may have rated higher.
I recieved a copy of Miss Chatterly part 1:Hungry in exchange for a review. I'm not sure how I feel about serial novels. I like the idea that you can read them in one sitting, but I'm always left with a cliffhanger and feel unfulfilled. And while I've never read Lady Chatterley's Lover, I'm thinking it's safe to say I prefer this reselling of it much more than the original. Connie and Cliff have an awesome relationship, and have been together for years. Cliff is a tech wizard and ends up creating a social media site that takes off, sending them to CA for the expansion of it. Connie isn't too excited about it, but she loves Cliff and supports him. Unfortunately, Cliff is so caught up in his company and investors, he has been neglecting Connie in more ways than one, which sort of force her to find other things to do with her time. Cue Oliver Mellors, the hot CrossFit instructor. Connie signs up for his class and things get a little out of control with them. And that's where I was left! This story had so much potential, and was great, I thought. But I was left with this steamy, hot, mind blowing sex scene that didn't even finish! I want more! And I have to wait! I feel bad for Cliff, but dang, Mellors is too hot to NoT go there! I'm curious to find out how Connie gets herself out of this pickle, and to see if Ivy the bitch gets what's coming to her
What would it be like to love someone whose success turns you into the fifth wheel in your relationship? For Connie Chatterley, that question has become her new existence, one she desperately wishes to regift. Her relationship with Chatterbox genius inventor Cliff was better in New York, before he was Silicon Valley's newest Wonderboy and she had to leave her life behind to follow her heart. But Cliff is in high demand at the office and on the Palo Alto social scene, with Connie placing a distant third. Connie wants Cliff to succeed, but between threesomes with whoever calls his cellphone and his flagging interest, it seems the honeymoon is over. Guilt-riddled over her unhappiness, Connie's only distraction is lusting after Oliver Mellors, her CrossFit trainer. Things change though when Oliver encourages her to listen to her body and fulfill all of its needs. It's not love, she has that with Cliff, but how can the sex be so addictive?
And what will happen when Cliff finds out?
Miss Chatterley is a sexual awakening story that leaves you craving the next hit.
While this story on it's own is not one that is unique; it is a fair start for a series. Breaking what should be a complete book into 4 parts, exposes weaknesses in story composition which could have been excused as story rhythm if presented as a full novel. Connie seems quite spoiled and dependent on Cliff to be the source of her happiness. The author is treading on dangerous ground by using Connie's loneliness as the sole reason for her affair. Cliff clearly loves her, has not strayed, and is in the process of launching a company. By making her sole reason for cheating her need for attention, the character establishes herself as the story's villain from the start. The attraction that Connie has to her trainer, Mellors, is the saving grace for this read. The passion between them is enough to make readers' mouths water. The sex scenes found here, while nothing to sneeze at, are no more steamy than those found in mainstream romance novels. If this is truly to be a retelling of the iconic "Lady Chatterley's Lover; it has a lot of growing to do.
Logan Belle has written an amazing four part story that had me riveted to my seat until I was done reading. Connie Chatterley is a conflicted character and the writing conveys the emotion realistically making the Connie relatable to the reader even though we may not agree with her actions. She is flawed, but who isn’t. The story speaks to a deep loneliness and the mistakes we make when we don’t communicate effectively with our partners. It speaks to trust in people that only think of their own interests. It speaks to deep relationships as well as ones that are carnal and don’t even touch the surface of emotion. The sexy scenes broke the temperature gage, especially the ones with some of the secondary characters. Overall, I felt I read a fulfilling story with a great balance of elements and nothing in excess. Definitely a writer to follow. I can’t wait to see what’s next for Miss Belle.
Miss Chatterley Part I: Hungry caught me from the beginning! Connie Chatterley and Cliff are such an relatable cute couple that you feel caught up in their life right from the beginning! Connie is struggling to find her place in CA from uprooting her whole life in NYC to follow Cliff! Cliff is so focused on his life and work that their relationship starts to take a backseat. Ivy Bolton, Cliff's personal assistant and Tommy Dukes, investment banker are taking up all of Cliff's free time with their own agendas. Connie is feeling so disconnected emotionally and physically that she ventures out to focus on herself with a new exercise program....her "coach" not personal trainer Oliver Mellors, ex-marine is readily available to give her any type of exercise that Connie may need. The story ended in a way that you just NEED to know what happens next!! I started on part two right away!!
WOW!!!! A quick 80 page read, I was hooked with in the first few pages and wasn't let go until I finished part III and that's only because part IV isn't out yet! These books are about the life of Connie and her struggles to move from NYC and to give up something she loves for the man she's "in love" with. And move to CA with no life/family or friends and the man ignoring her in and out of the bed room. Throw in a conniving bee-atch, power hunger money man, the HOTTEST Marine on the planet and screwed up sister and you have one of the best series of novella you will read. PERIOD! Ms. Belle's story telling is amazing. Part I Is finding out the characters, the move and the struggles. leaving us with the best cliffhanger I've read in a long time.
Connie's life changes on the day of her graduation party. As her sweet and loving boyfriend tells her that they need to move, because his version of Twitter: Chatterbox, has taken off, they pack up their bags and move.
Only it's not easy. Consumed with work, Cliff comes home late and leaves before she even wakes up. He is still the sweet, loving guy that she fell in love with, but he just doesn't have the time for her...
All it takes is one indiscretion to bring Connie's life screeching to a start. That's how bad it is, she has barely been living for the past few months in California.
A short and quick read, I am eager to get onto the second part!
Not expecting originality because Belle is forthcoming in saying that this is a D.H. Lawrence adaptation. What I'm after is the ingenuity of the adaptation. I remember hating Lady Chatterley's from the beginning, she'll get along nicely with Madam Bovary and Anna Karenina. Connie won't feel out of place in their group.
