4.5 Stars...it's getting better and better!!!

This is the third installment to this serial novel series, and I am loving it! Erotic but not over the top, taboo but relatable, it takes a touchy subject and makes you invest yourself in these characters, fully knowing what they are doing is wrong.

What's fresh about this book miniseries is how true to life it is. There aren't really any BAD GUYS here. Lonely, misguided people...yes! But it's hard to really dislike anyone. I wouldn't have thought that Connie would be someone I would like, but she is. Even without the shades of gray that I usually need to de-villainize a character, I'm still hurting for her.

Mellors...I still don't get this guy. He's very closed off, very stoic, but hot DAMN can he turn Connie on! He's exciting and dripping sexuality, and yet he still doesn't give Connie the intimacy that she needs. Only the barest touch of tender now and again, and the BAM! Right back to musclebound Mr. Quiet fitness guy.

Cliff...wake the hell up, guy! You're losing the woman you love! He's such a good person, and yet he continues to put his work and business ahead of Connie. I honestly don't know how she doesn't break down.

Connie...the poor girl! Mistake after mistake, and she's digging herself a hole that's going to be impossible to pull herself out of. I feel so bad for her but at the same time, she's just making such terrible decisions, I'm angry with her! Just because I'm angry doesn't mean I don't understand, and just because I understand doesn't mean I approve.

To say the least, I'm about as confused as Lady Chatterly!!!!

Rating: 4 out of 5.

And so the series continues. Connie feels guilty about her affair and sweet clueless Cliff starts to genuinely try to fix their relationship, with the help of Connie's sister.

Except there are forces out there to destroy them...

And another major cliffie.

This is part 3 of the Miss Chatterley serial, and picks up where part 2 left off.
Connie is faced with a big question from Cliff that she needs to answer, but all she can think about is Mellors. Things have escalated between the pair to the point where this is more than just a simple slip-up for Connie, and she can’t wait to get home, and to have sex with Mellors.
Can Connie keep up her charade? What are her feelings for Mellor and Cliff? And how long before she gets caught?

This was another thrilling instalment, and I’m really looking forward to part 4!

As much as I don’t like cheaters, this series has been riveting! Connie’s feelings and thoughts are so real, and the attraction between Connie and Mellors is hot!
We were once again left with a bit of a cliff-hanger at the end of part 2, and now it’s decision time for Connie. She knows that her affair is more than just a mistake now, and she really needs to make a choice, the fact that Cliff is being more attentive actually makes her decision harder.

The sex was once again pretty steamy in this instalment, and Connie and Mellors seem to just get hotter! I really hope that Mellors feels something more for Connie than just wanting to have sex with her, although I see how difficult a decision this is going to be considering how long Connie and Cliff have been together.
Having never read Lady Chatterley’s Lover, I have no idea how that ended, and whether this ending will be the same, but I am really wanting to find out!!
Overall; a steamy part three to this thrilling serial.
8.5 out of 10.

Could an Affair Ever Solve Relationship Problems? Miss Chatterley: Torn and Spent

INCLUDES REVIEW OF SPENT

My Take

I think the last two pieces of this series redeem it in my mind. This is largely a character-driven book. Connie learns that spouses in the "tech" industries are often left to fend for themselves emotionally and socially. What was once a relationship between two people with lots of time becomes a bit more one-sided. But, it was getting that way before Connie and Cliff moved to California, and Cliff's assistant was already a thorn in Connie's side.

Connie needs to find a functional life that is, yes, different from the one she left in New York. It reminds me a bit of the movie LOST IN TRANSLATION with Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson. Scarlett plays Charlotte, a well-educated, young wife whose husband is emotionally and physically absent while she tags along on an assignment. She wanders aimlessly and makes friends with an actor brought to Japan to film commercials. I have had that aimless feeling when I have been with my husband on business trips. But both experiences are short term. If you are someplace and know it's long term you have to pull it together. You also have to communicate with your partner.

I think in TORN and SPENT Connie does that but already has created the disaster. Really, she gave it up when she left her dreams for his and had no plan about what to do. But will an affair solve the problem. Why would she do something so A. stupid, and B. dishonest? If your bored, don't screw someone to alleviate it: get a job, volunteer, do your art. UGHHHHH! Maybe she feels betrayed but you don't let the decision to be in a relationship or not rest on a box of condoms.

The writing is competent, and the sex scenes are more interesting. For Connie the sex isn't just about the emotional need for Cliff, it becomes about Mellors, the Crossfit coach being rough, and satisfying, immediate and THERE. She basically becomes addicted to him and kind of loses interest in Cliff. Will she be able to get back the feeling she had when they were happy? Maybe she wants to make something, anything, happen to what has become such a dull life; a life hanging around her head like dirty lank hair, like a cold and rainy week when it should be summer. But she just ends up poking the wasps' nest and you know what happens then.

I would not have been able to stop reading these because they are well serialized. I think serialization is different from just cutting a book up and doling it out piece by piece. The book has to be written with a cliff hanger for each episode. This is well edited in that regard.

I think the serial would be a great beach read, possibly not if you are about to postpone your dreams to follow your partner far from your friends, but otherwise you might like it.

Last week we followed Connie Chatterley into her affair. She began sleeping with Oliver Mellors, her coach, and feeling guilty. Cliff, her boyfriend, woke up a little bit and realized his girlfriend was slipping away. Connie was told to have an affair by her idiot sister. Cliff's assistant, Ivy was a bit of a bitch and also a bit of a slut.

This week we learned these things:

1. Connie is still stupid.

2. Cliff is slowly starting to smell the coffee.

3. Dukes is a bastard.

4. Ivy is still a bitch.

On that note, I want to start discussing my issues with this section. I had major issues with the part as a whole. I understood the need to start creating cracks within all the relationships as well as having Cliff wake up and Connie feeling guilty. I get it. I do. The problem with it was, was I'm sort of over it.

I'm over Connie's affair. I'm over Connie's guilt. I'm over that whole thing. I kind of want to kick Cliff in the balls and then chuckle at his pain. I want Ivy to fall into a pit and stay there. Oh and I want Dukes to fall on rusty knives.

Did that convey my feelings about this chapter?! None of the characters are likeable. None of the characters spend much time developing as characters. While I enjoyed the first two sections I am having a great deal of trouble maintaining interest. I just don't like any of the characters and I really don't care if they have a happy ending.

I imagine the story will pick up once Connie confesses her affair. Unfortunately she'll be cast as the harlot for awhile before Cliff decides it was partially his fault. I'm hoping something tragic happens to Ivy and Dukes but we'll see.

I have high hopes for the forth part even though this one disappointed me. I hope you'll join me next week for the forth and final Miss Chatterley Serial Sunday.

Torn, Miss Chatterley #3 by Logan Belle
* I received this ARC free from Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review*

Connie continues to struggle with her feelings for Cliff and her attraction to Mellors. She intends to end it with Mellors but she can’t fight her attraction to him. On a weekend getaway, Cliff offers her the life she has always wanted with him but guilt gets in the way.

Connie knows that her relationship with Mellors is wrong but she is drawn to him but she just can’t walk away. After nearly getting caught, she realizes just what is really at stake and decides to make the needed changes in her life. Unfortunately, Mellors is out when she visits him to tell him it’s over.

Cliff has realized that he is going to lose Connie if he doesn’t change the way things are between them. He plans a romantic evening for the two of them but things don’t go as planned. He knows that she still loves him but that she is very unhappy there. With the help of her sister, they set a plan in motion that is sure to make things better between them.

After losing her job, Connie’s sister Hillary shows up in California with a mission. She is determined that Connie isn’t going to go through what she just did. While she is staying with them, Cliff hires her to do some consulting work at Chatterbox, she doesn’t realize that it could lead to a love connection for her.

Ivy and Dukes are still up to no good and determined to get Cliff to go public. Dukes employee’s Ivy’s help to do get dirt on Connie and her sister using whatever means necessary, to get them out of the picture. Ivy’s greed is really showing and she will do whatever Dukes asks her to do.

This was the best one yet and I can’t wait to share the final installment with you. I really enjoyed Miss Chatterley Part III: Torn and give it 3 ½ Flaming Hearts.

We left off in Dirty with another major cliff hanger. Cliff knows that his and Connie's relationship is danger, instead of fixing the problem at hand, he believes the best way to save their relationship is to take it to the next level. Connie is so guilt ridden, that even though she loves Cliff she knows she can't accept his offer. Both Cliff and Connie realize that it is time to start working to repair their relationship. For Cliff the answer is to start spending more time with Connie. And for Connie the answer is dropping Mellor. But unfortunality for Connie, her relationship with Mellor has turned into more than just sex, but a pure out addiction. And just like going on a diet, before she can give up the unhealthy food, she was binge! And binge she does!

In this episode, we get to know more about some side characters, specially Hillary, Connei's older sister who had came into town after her affair goes bad, and Cliff's partner at the Chattebox, Ivy. Usually in these types of situations the partner was the significant other out of the picture beacuase they want the partner to themselves. But this is not the case for Ivy, yes she wants Connie out the picture and will go throug any lengths to get it done, but she wants Connie gone because she beliees that if she does Cliff will take the compnay public and she will become and instant millionaire. Ivy befriends an unlikely person in her quest to rid of Connie.

Once you get to this stage of the serial....you'll be hooked!  After the ending of the second part I had to keep going and going and rush to get to the resolution.  And honestly, I'm not sure how I felt about any possible outcome.  I was torn myself.

Connie has been having an affair with her personal trainer and sometimes that collides with her boyfriend, Cliff.  Her previous attempts to get Cliff to pay more attention to her and their relationship had gone unanswered until now.  And Cliff now wants to make an effort and make things work.

I loved how the authors portrayed the emotional battle that can happen when people make the conscious decision to continue an affair.  There was a reason why it all started and sometimes it can't be as easy as turning a switch and making it go away.  There are consequences to others around them.

TORN was at times nail biting but extremely addicting!  I couldn't help but watch (read) on and when I got to that last page, I turned quickly for the next and final chapter.

WOW!!!!  A quick 80 page read, I was hooked with in the first few pages and wasn't let go until I finished part III and that's only because part IV isn't out yet! These books are about the life of Connie and her struggles to move from NYC and to give up something she loves for the man she's "in love" with. And move to CA with no life/family or friends and the man ignoring her in and out of the bed room. Throw in a conniving bee-atch, power hunger money man, the HOTTEST Marine on the planet and screwed up sister and you have one of the best series of novella you will read. PERIOD!
Ms. Belle's story telling is amazing.
Part III Connie and Cliff moving further and further apart. Connie's sister trying to help but does Connie want to save it?  Or Does she want the REALLY HOT Marine?!?! The cliff hangers that Ms.Belle leaves you w/is mind blowing!
I normally don't get effect or vested that much into books I guess because series books don't normally effect me this way and certainly I never care when the next one gets released. I have several I've read that part two - three have been released and I haven't even thought about them. But you better believe come June 3rd I'm looking for my pre-ordered of Ms. Chatterely

As Torn is the third installment to Logan Belle's twist on Lady Chatterley's Lover it might contain some spoilers if you've not read the first two books in this series.
This book picks up exactly where the previous book left off. Cliff has just proposed and Connie turns him down. Connie is wracked with guild over her affair with Mellors. Her sister moves in, and with a plan, she tries to keep Connie from making a huge mistake by leaving Cliff. However Connie has other forces moving against her.
The third installment really heats up as Connie must figure out what she must do. She knows what she's doing with Mellors is wrong, but she can't help herself. The more she tries to stay away, the more she is drawn to him. She also loves Cliff. He's been a great boyfriend until his company started to take off. He loves Connie, but he too is torn between work and love. Torn is a great title for this book. It inhabits exactly what's going on emotionally with a lot of the characters. It shows how easy it is to get lost in what is right and what feels right.
This is a great series thus far. I can't wait to see how it ends!

After book two's cliffhanger, we are back with Connie and Cliff.
I'm not going to give anything away, but wow.
Things are getting good.

Connie is having some serious guilt issues, but like a junky, she can't stay away from her drug. Cliff is clueless, but devoted and trying to find a way to make it work at all costs. He is finally seeing that things may not be as great as they once were, and Cliff's love for Connie makes me like him even more.

Am I a fan of Connie? Nope. But she's more of a sympathetic character by now, and the last line in the book makes me think I'll feel a lot warmer towards her in the next installment.

Ivy is having her own adventures with the enemy and I find her encounters to be even more sexy than Mellors and Connie.
The writing is still well done, the scenes steamy. And in my opinion, at least Ivy and Tommy have personalities. They may not be nice people, but they're far more interesting to me than Connie and Mellors.

Also, perhaps if the four installments were read as one book, the drag of book two may not have been noticeable at all.

Overall, things are heating up! I can't wait to see what happens!

While I really liked Hungry and Dirty, the first two books in this series, I can’t say the same for Torn. Don’t get me wrong, the writing is the same. The characters are the same. It’s just that my empathy for Connie isn’t there any longer. I’m not condoning someone cheating on their significant other, but I understand why Connie cheated on Cliff with Oliver Mellors the first time. I even understand how it could happen. What I don’t understand or get is how she can still say that she loves Cliff, but still continue her affair with Oliver.

The conspiracy between Ivy Bolton, Cliff’s assistant, and Tommy Dukes, the man who wants to take Chatterbox public, continues. This time, they are putting Connie in their sights. Connie is getting more and more in over her head by continuing to have an affair with Oliver. Cliff starts to realize that he isn’t putting enough into their relationship and he really is trying and starting to change. But is it a little too late? Now more than ever, Connie is torn as to what she wants and the person she wants to be.

Logan Belle has written an amazing four part story that had me riveted to my seat until I was done reading. Connie Chatterley is a conflicted character and the writing conveys the emotion realistically making the Connie relatable to the reader even though we may not agree with her actions. She is flawed, but who isn’t. The story speaks to a deep loneliness and the mistakes we make when we don’t communicate effectively with our partners. It speaks to trust in people that only think of their own interests. It speaks to deep relationships as well as ones that are carnal and don’t even touch the surface of emotion. The sexy scenes broke the temperature gage, especially the ones with some of the secondary characters. Overall, I felt I read a fulfilling story with a great balance of elements and nothing in excess. Definitely a writer to follow. I can’t wait to see what’s next for Miss Belle.

Torn! This books leaves you torn on whether or not you want Connie to choose passion or love! Cliff tries to save his failing relationship with Connie by glazing over the issues and proposing! BUT! Connie cant get Oliver off her mind and feels so guilty. This book is more than just about infidelity. Logan Belle presents the character in such a way that you can relate emotionally. You may not agree with Connie's choices but no one is perfect! In this installment the side characters Ivy Bolton, Tommy Dukes and Connie's sister Hillary Chatterley play a more up front role. Ivy and Tommy will go to any lengths to further their agenda of getting their claws into Cliff's business! Oh did I mention is there a HOT ménage as well?!
I am looking forward to the last installment!

I received a copy of Torn courtesy of the publisher for review.

In the third installment of Miss Chatterly, Torn takes us a little deeper into Connie's sex-scapades with Mellors, and her relationship with Cliff. These books keep getting better! I found myself wondering if Mellors had anything going on upstairs, or if he was just a meat head droid. And I also was wondering why Connie seemed to just give up on Cliff, when he was so obviously trying to fix their relationship. It's not like he was abusive or weird! Either way, I kept waiting for her to beat Ivy's face in. The fact she didn't was the only disappointment I had, otherwise, I loved the book!
